Siddharth Roy Kapur is among the 12 Indian faces in Variety’s list of 500 ‘influential business leaders shaping the global $2 trillion entertainment industry.’Variety500 reflects the accomplishments of its members over the previous 12 months’. The listed names are selected by the Variety editorial board.The list also includes actors Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra,Karan Johar, Aditya Chopra, Ekta Kapoor, and the Ambani brothers, Punit Goenka, Kishore Lulla, Uday Shankar and Subhash Chandra. Siddharth Roy Kapur is a film producer, President of The Film and Television Producers Guild of India and former Managing Director of The Walt Disney Company India. After having produced path breaking movies of the last decade including Taare Zameen Par, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, Fashion, Aamir, A Wednesday etc, Siddharth recently set up his own production house, Roy Kapur Films, to produce movies and digital video content across all scales and genres. Siddharth Roy Kapur is the first to sign a partnership deal with a telecom company JIO in India. The association will include exclusive long and short form content genres that RKF will put together as ‘Jio Originals’. He is also producing films under his banner RKF, like Rakesh Sharma biopic, Nitesh Tiwari’s Anu Anty and a film with R.S. Prasanna.
