Preachy

The film’s story is about two orphans — Lakshman (Salman Khan) and Bharat (Sohail Khan) — who live in Jagatpur, a small town in Kumaon. It’s a fairy-tale fantasy with characters, who do nothing else but congregate at the town and sing and dance together.Lakshman is a simpleton who adores his younger brother, Bharat and waits for him to come back from the Indo-China war

The Plus Points:
The cute extra-sweet Matin’s performance, the excellent camerawork and the song Radio and Kintu Parantu and Esha Talwar’s noticeable but small debut.Om Puri plays a typical role which does not stir you while Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub shows promise of becoming yet another bundle of talent like Nawazuddin Shah though he has been wasted in this preachy film

The Minus Points:
The weak script, the very predictable climax, the lack of of emotional connect and the overdose of the Khan brothers, makes the film neither a love story between the Chinese widow and Bisht or a emotional bonding of the little boy and Bisht. It is difficult to digest a 52 year old Salman Khan prancing around with his zip open and trying make noise to make a mountain move

The Verdict:
It is a bland film which fails to appeal to the viewer though it is an official adaptation from an American film called Little Boy directed by Alejandro Gomez Monteverde. Kabir Khan tries hard to score a political point but Tubelight fails to light up as an engaging film.
