The film Ziprya, produced by Ranjeet Darekar and Ashwini Darekar and directed by Kedar Vaidya based on the celebrated novel of the same name by Arun Sadhu has been selected to be showcased during the forthcoming 16th Third Eye Asian Film festival as the inaugural attraction on December 21 at the Ravindra Natya Mandir Mini auditorium. The Asian Third Eye Film Festival is being organised this year from December 21 to December 28 by The Asian Film Foundation, Mumbai and P.L. Deshpande Maharashtra Kala Akademy along with the Prabhat Chitra Mandal and Akhil Bharatiya Maratrhi Chitrapat Mahamandal, with the support of the government of Maharashtra. Ziprya, which revolves around a group of boys who earn their loivelihood by polishing boots, stars Amruta Subhash, Prathamesh Parab, Hansraj Jagtap, Saksham Kulkarni, Chinmay Kamble and Aman Attar. The festival will also showcase Marathi films like Kshitij, Barayan, Vanilla Strawberry Chocolate, Ti Ani Itar, Copy and Nadi Vahate. Jana Aranya (Bengali) will be shown to mark the 25th death anniversary of filmmaker Satyajit Ray.
