When I got this award for the first time, the feeling was very good. International iconic ka tag ek actor ko milta hai toh kain na kahin ek feeling aati hai ki aur mehnat karni padegi. Every actor wants to be appreciated. Ab aisa ho gaya hai ki awards bahut saare hai, but kuch awards actors ke leeye bahut khaas hote hai. (Nowadays there are many awards. Earlier when an actor would get an award, the celebration would continue for days. But now, today you get one award, and tomorrow another one, so that celebration is short lived. However, International Iconic’s tag is special and one feels motivated to do more. Every actor wants to be appreciated. Some awards are special,” he says. Actor Murli Sharma received the 67th Filmfare Award (South) for Best Supporting Role in Telugu Blockbuster Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. The film was directed by Trivikram Srinivas and stars Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde. In the film, Murli played the role of the father of Allu Arjun and he garnered a lot of love and appreciation for his role.

The actor expressed his gratitude and said, “It took 32 years for this dream to come true. I still wonder how I managed to come so far and how I had this kind of stubbornness, intransigence and indefatigibilty. I am extremely humbled, honored, and grateful to Filmfare, my Director Trivikram Srinivas, and my hero Allu Arjun and my producers. I had a great time playing the character of ‘Valmiki’ and it wouldn’t have been possible without Trivikram Sir.”
