Have been travelling with #RonnieRodrigues sir to various countries on multiple occasions. Recent one being to #Singapore (lost the count of my visits here). The best part of travelling alongside Ronnie sir is getting ‘#LiveLifeKingSize’ experience.

After enjoying business class lounge facilities at #Mumbai’s #ChhattapatiShivajiMaharajInternationalAirport, we reached Changi airport in Singapore. (By the way Singapore’s #ChangiAirport is number 1 ranked airport in the world, beauty wise. First time travelers should keep 3-4 hours extra to explore the facilities, asthetics and loveliness of the said airport) Instead of experiencing crowded passenger arena and long wait at the luggage belt, we were greeted immediately after deboarding the flight and escorted by CIP personnel to be transported to a special CIP terminal for immigration procedures.

By the way #CIP means #CommerciallyImportantPeople and Ronnie Rodrigues is one of them.

CIP managed by #JetQuay (The Elite Gateway to Changi, Singapore) has a luxurious lounge where CIPs are treated with drinks and food (free of cost, of course). Moreover there is a special Immigration Officer posted to look after the immigration procedures of CIPs. It took us less than 2 minutes to clear the immigration. The CIP personnel brought our baggage to the lounge and after refreshments we were driven in a limousine to our hotel, #MarinaBaySands which is an iconic place in Singapore where three multistorey towers support a swimming pool at the top. It is one of the most luxurious hotels in the world. The rooms are more than comfortable and has luxurious facilities including impeccable room service. The Infinity pool on the 57th floor allows you to have a birds eye view of Singapore.

While returning too CIP personnel drove us in a limousine from MBS to the special CIP terminal where we were warmly greeted in the lounge. While we were enjoying the food and the beverages our luggage already was checked in by them and like mentioned earlier, a special immigration officer cleared us in seconds to catch our return flight.

A huge thank you to Ronnie Rodrigues. The above description certainly justifies the phrase… Live life King Size with Ronnie Rodrigues!

Abdul Rashid Salim Salman Khan is popular as Bhaijaan of the entertainment industry, barring a few exceptions, has been ruling the Indian Film Industry popularly referred to as Bollywood. #SalmanKhan, even after 34 years, is still one of the most sought after actors and at an advanced age of 58 years, he is one of the fittest actors of the industry. But he modestly denies this and mentions that actors like #SunnyDeol, #AnilKapoor, #AkshayKumar, #SanjayDutt are fitter actors among others. Salman Khan started out playing a supporting role in ‘Biwi Ho To Aisi’ but landed a lead role in the #SoorajBarjatya directorial ‘#MainePyarKiya’ and the rest is history. Sooraj and Salman once again came together in ‘#HumAapkeHainKaun’ and ‘#HumSaathSaathHain’ and both the films were super hits. He has a special place in his heart for Sooraj Barjatya because he likes his family entertainers and Salman personally prefers films which could be watched together with an entire family.

Salman Khan has seen ups and downs in his career. Salman Khan was part of films like ‘#KaranArjun’ for which he won Filmfare’s Best Actor Award. ‘#Judwaa’, ‘#PyarKiyaToDarnaKya’, ‘#HumDilDeChukeSanam’, ‘#ChoriChoriChupkeChupke’, ‘#TereNaam’, ‘#MujhseShadiKarogi’, ‘#NoEntry’ are few of his films. After a lull in a career he got a new lease of life with ‘#Wanted’, directed by #Prabhudeva. Salman also starred in ‘#Ready’, #Dabangg’s three instalments, ‘#Tubelight’, ‘#Radhe’, ‘#Antim’, ‘#BajrangiBhaijaan’, ‘#PremRatanDhanPayo’ etc. Salman’s Tiger franchise is one of the most successful franchises and so far it consists of ‘#EkThaTiger’, ‘#TigerZindaHai’ and ‘#Tiger3’. ‘Tiger 3’ was released this Diwali and has become the biggest grosser of Diwali. Our Sr Editor Keerti Kadam met Salman Khan during the success meet and greet of ‘Tiger 3’.

You have tasted success and failures too but have remained grounded throughout. How do you deal with success or failure?
I don’t deal with it. After a film is complete, my job gets over. Then it’s the viewers job to watch the film and decide whether to make it a hit or a flop. If the movie runs successfully, it feels good and it definitely hurts if it doesn’t do well at the box office. But a flop doesn’t crack me. I don’t think much about it because it’s a part of the game. I’ll say that everyone should taste failure so that they can enjoy the taste of success. But if the film doesn’t do well I take the entire responsibility. If a film is a hit then the credit should go to the entire team.

There is a lot of hard work that goes into making a film. Everybody toils to make a good product. Sometimes it may fail. I, as a star, can bring the audiences to the theatre on the first Friday, Saturday and Sunday. But if the movie holds it’s grounds on Monday then the credit goes to others including the director, script writer, cinematographer etc. But I take flops seriously, in the sense that it teaches me to work doubly hard for the next project. Of course success and failure, both come with a responsibility. In both the cases you need to work harder next time so as not to disappoint your fans and the viewers. Indeed, no one can guarantee success but putting in hard work is in your hands. Retrospection is necessary. When your heart is not in the script or a film then you should not do the film, whatever the reason.

Success should not go to your head. For that matter nothing should go to your head. Everything has it’s expiry date. Even success and failure have it. Hard work is the solution. If your film is successful then you should work hard to offer another good product. If your film flops then, you must put in extra efforts to bounce back. Fans want to enjoy your hard work put in a film.

Some say some of my films were flops. But in actuality, some of my films did not give the expected result. For my fans, I have reduced the ticket prices, i.e. Popular prices and thus the collection numbers were not high. Had I continued with the multiplex’s rates i.e. Blockbuster prices, then there could have been higher numbers. But many are not appreciative enough and want to declare those films as flops. But all my films are at break even points. There are no losses to the producers. If you want I can go only for Blockbuster prices, then you’ll see the blockbuster numbers.

Now, talking of the Tiger franchise’s success, it lies in the vision of the director. ‘Tiger 3’ is written and presented well and it has translated into a good product. ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ was conceptualised and directed by Kabir Khan and it was a huge success. In the second part ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, Ali Abbas Zafar took it to a higher level. Kabir Khan paved the way for the sequel and TZH’s success culminated in ‘Tiger 3’ which is directed by Maneesh Sharma. There could be Tiger’s fourth instalment but nothing is in the pipeline at present. Also there should be a good gap between the two franchise films. ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ was released in 2012 and after 5 years came ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’. ‘Tiger 3’ has recently been released, so it’s 4th part should not be made immediately. Of course, good script is the prime prerequisite. While making ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, we knew that it had the potential to become a successful film. But when it was a super hit then the thought of a sequel popped up.

I am more than happy that ‘Farrey’ which is produced by Salman Khan Films and my niece Alizeh is debuting with it has received good response from the viewers and the critics too. There was or is a perception that only action films are doing well in theatres. But that is not true. Good films are being appreciated by the viewers and I am happy that we produced ‘Farrey’. This film talks about today’s youth’s present rather than their past and future. The problems they are facing while growing up are supposed to be addressed and Farrey does exactly that which is why the youth will relate to this film. It’s a clean film without any action or romance but still it’s a well made film. All the four new actors, including Alizeh, have given super fine performances. More than Tiger’s success I am happy for Alizeh’s film getting good response. I am happy for Alizeh’s parents, my sister Alvira (Khan Agnihotri) and her husband Atul (Agnihotri) too.

I personally like to watch family films. I am fond of Sooraj Barjatya’s films which could be watched with the entire family sitting together. My family is big, around 60-70 people in it. And most of us watch films together. I may have done action, romance on screen but I prefer watching the genre which makes no one cringe while watching it with family.

Shah Rukh Khan and you have been featuring in each other’s films and it’s been the high point of the respective films too.
Frankly Shah Rukh and I are great friends. Our bonding and chemistry off screen is tremendous and that translates on screen too. That’s the reason people say that we have a great chemistry on screen. A lot of people have communicated that our eyes talk while performing on screen. That’s true in the sense that we know each other so well that we do not need words to express ourselves. ‘Isharo Isahron me kaam ho jata hai’. I have a similar connect with Sanju (Sanjay Dutt) too. Even if we are at the far end of a room, the eye contact conveys a lot more to each one of us. And when you have a great bonding with someone, it is bound to be noticed on screen too.

A lot of people ask me about the interactions we do on screen, especially in ‘Pathaan’. Of course the dialogues are written in advance and we do a little bit of improvisation. There were reports that Karan Arjun are back. Of course they are back, with a bang. I have been doing two hero, three hero films throughout my career. I think my generation of actors are secure enough to do multi starrer. But the same can not be said about today’s actors. They seem to be averse to doing two hero films. If there is a two hero film, then the fans watching the movie doubles which benefits the movie’s collections. If the younger lot doesn’t understand this, let us do the multi-starrers.

You have played Prem, Chulbul Pandey, Tiger etc in your films multiple times. Which character is your own favourite?
Prem. Mainly because with Prem my career commenced and it was well appreciated by people. I have successfully portrayed different people in other franchise films. Chulbul Pandey and Tiger are my favourites too. Each character has it’s special qualities and I have enjoyed playing all of them. Tiger series is YRF’s spy universe. It all started with ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ and am happy that I am kind of a pioneer of this spy universe. Given a choice, I’ll like to start my own universe. I would like to take my other characters from other films further, viz. Devil from Kick, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Sultan, Radhe and of course Chulbul Pandey and Prem. I am fortunate to have played those characters. But ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ being my first film, Prem is closet to my heart. Your first film is always special. Your first role is very close to your heart.

You produced ‘Farrey’. Was it a launch pad for Alizeh?
No. Absolutely not. The script came to us first and after narration we decided to produce it. Then the process started to hunt four young actors. After a while we thought of casting Alizeh but she was reluctant as she wanted to debut with some other film. We somehow convinced her to do the role and that’s how she became a part of this movie. Alizeh is an extremely hard working kid and it shows on screen. She is a team player and has a special quality of taking everybody along.

We had planned a photo shoot for Alizeh, but she insisted that the other three lead actors from the film, Prasanna Bisht, Sahil Mehta and Zeyn Shaw, should also be there. In poster too, she wanted all four actors to be in the forefront. She visited the Bigg Boss set along with the other three. On the India TV show too she tagged everyone along. So, she is a supremely secure actor and even I was not that secure during my first film (Laughs).

There was an incident of burning crackers inside the theatres during Tiger 3 show…
I am totally against it. I do not respect these kind of people. Even if it was Diwali time, bursting crackers inside theatres is a big No No. Viewers, fans should show some restraint. They should not go overboard and put people’s lives in danger. Bursting crackers can start a fire and it’ll jeopardise the property and harm human lives. It’s not cool. Moreover it scares the family crowd to enter theatres. Moreover, do not, I repeat, do not pour milk on my cutouts. It’s a wastage of money. Instead use that money to feed poor people. Their blessings will come in handy for the future.

Your walk has been liked by many. They say it’s a superstar’s walk…
I am not a superstar. The way I dress, the way I interact, I don’t think I am a superstar. Superstar is a person who thinks he is a superstar in his mind. But I don’t have that misconception. I am a normal, average Bandra Boy. I know only about this field and want to utilise that knowledge to make the product better. But I never become complacent and work twice harder always. Importantly I do not compete with others. I compete with myself.

Talking about the walk, I have the same walking style since childhood. I have been walking the same, only now, there is an addition of about 25-30 kilos of muscles on my body. I can’t help it as it’s my normal gait. Yes, some people think that this has developed after my films started doing Rs 400-500 Cr business. But that is not true. But the truth is that quite a few people think that there’s an arrogance in my walk. Again, it’s not true. I have always admired the walks of Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Shatrughan Sinha etc. And maybe my walk is collectively inspired from all these superstars.

In ‘Tiger 3’, Emraan Hashmi played the antagonist. How was it working with him?
I have always liked him, as an actor and as a person too. But I was happy that he did not get to kiss in this movie (Laughs). He was amazing in ‘Tiger 3’. It’s difficult to match up to Tiger, but Emraan was equally good. He has given his best. And the best part was we were not competing with but complimenting each other’s roles.

…And Katrina?
Katrina is one of the most hard working actors I have come across. From not knowing the Hindi language to now talking fluently in it, is an achievement. And it wouldn’t have happened if she had not put in hard work. She was not a great dancer. Again she worked so hard that now she is one of the finest dancers Bollywood has. In the Tiger franchise, what is more appreciated is the family life of Tiger and Zoya. Both are passionate about their jobs and still lead a peaceful and romantic married life. Viewers have loved the Tiger-Zoya chemistry. In fact the Tiger-Zoya jodi is an ideal couple for quite a few married couples.

The post Salman Khan : I am a Normal Average Bandra Boy! first appeared on Latest News, Breaking News, National News, World News, India News, Bollywood News, Business News, Politics News, Sports News, Entertainment News - CineBuster.

A lot of businessmen give handsome gifts to their employees during the festival of lights, i.e. #Diwali. But have you ever heard about an owner of the company giving their employees an all expenses paid foreign tour as a Diwali gift? As per the research there’s only one company owner who has done that, multiple times. #RonnieRodrigues, Owner and CMD of #PearlGroupofCompanies, has been gifting his employees, including office boys, watchmen, drivers, security staff etc, a foreign tour, at least once a year.

During Diwali Ronnie Rodrigues makes sure to distribute sweets, dry fruits, gifts and cash to the cleaning staff, security personnel and menial staff at the #DheerajHeritage premises where the HO of his group of companies is located. Moreover his entire staff gets a handsome bonus in the form of a foreign trip. Ronnie Rodrigues makes arrangements for everyone’s air tickets, visas, hotel accommodation et al. This Diwali all the staff was flown to the #UnitedKingdom’s capital, #London. He too travels with everyone and stays at the same hotel, preferably a five star property. As many are averse to the #European food, he ensures to book rooms with #Kitchen facilities, where they can cook the meal of their choices. These rooms are equipped with an oven, a washing machine, cooking range with utensils etc. And mind you, these rooms cost higher that other standard rooms.

During the stay he took everyone for sightseeing tours including #LondonEye. Last but not the least, Ronnie Rodrigues arranged personal shopping for each and everyone at his cost. It’s hardly to believe but is true. Does anyone know, any employer doing so much for his employees? Ronnie Rodrigues definitely likes to distribute happiness and could easily be termed as a #ModernDayKarn!

There’s happiness in the air as the festival of lights is around the corner. Mr Ronnie Rodrigues, CMD of Pearl Group of Companies, which had an addition recently, viz PBC Education and Financial Services Pvt Ltd, always celebrates this festival with the underprivileged and disadvantaged people around him. This year too he, elevated the happiness quotient of the Housekeeping staff, security personnel and menial staff of the entire #DheerajHeritage premises where #PearlGroupofCompanies and #PBCEducationandFinanvialServicesPvtLtd offices are located.

Actor #DeepakTijori attended this function despite ill health as he was in admiration of the cause. He said, ‘It’s astonishing that even in today’s era people like Ronnie Rodrigues put other people’s happiness above else. I have seen all these people’s faces glowing with happiness. #RonnieRodrigues’ gesture is inspiring and I am overwhelmed meeting this interesting personality.”

Actors #PankajBerry, #AartiiNaagpal, #JyotiSaxena producer #NileshMalhotra, singer-actor #ArunBakshi and music composer #DilipSen were in attendance to support the cause.

This year, too, he is taking an entire entourage comprised of staff from Pearl Group of Companies, #CineBuster and PBC Education and Financial Services, to #LONDON to celebrate Diwali. On questioning about the same, he modestly replied, “I believe in giving rather than taking. The blessings received from all these people gives me extra power to excel in whatever I indulge in. The God might have chosen me as his messenger to help underprivileged people. I take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy Diwali.”<img loading="lazy"
Daughter of actor #ChunkyPanday, who played lead roles in Hindi cinema during the period of late eighties and early nineties, #AnanyaPanday followed her father’s footsteps and took acting as her profession. #KaranJohar launched her in ‘#StudentOfTheYear2’, which was a sequel to a successful ‘#SOTY’ which launched #AliaBhatt, #SidharthMalhotra and #VarunDhawan, and Ananya’s vivaciousness got noticed and her acting career started to take shape. Ananya’s innocence in ‘#PatiPatniAurWho’, which had #BhumiPednekar and #KartikAaryan, was liked by the audience. Both these performances earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.

But later her films like ‘Khaali Peeli’ with Ishaan Khatter and ‘Liger’ with South superstar Vijay Deverakonda, could not hold ground at the box office. But her performance in ‘Gehraiyaan’, which had Deepika Padukone and Siddhant Chaturvedi, was hailed and received good reviews for her acting. Ananya, for the first time, entered the coveted Rs 100 Cr club, with the success of ‘Dream Girl 2’, which was a sequel to a successful ‘Dream Girl’ and her chemistry with Ayushmann Khurrana was adored by the viewers. She showed growth as an actor in this film where she played a small town girl who is not as polished as her other urban characters. During the promotions of Dream Girl 2, our Sr Editor Keerti Kadam interacted with Ananya Panday. Excerpts….

Ayushmann is played a leading role as Pooja in Dream Girl 2. How excited were you doing a ‘two heroine’ film?
(Laughs) Yes. Ayushmann played a female character in Dream Girl 2 and I was supposed to be the leading lady of the film. But Ayusmann’s Pooja was competition to me. Well no actually (Smiles). I was very very excited when the film was offered to me. And frankly, I am not averse to two-heroine films as I have done quite a few of them. I’ve done 6 films till now in my career from which 4 films are two heroine films, so I’m used to it. I was perplexed when I saw Pooja. It was unbelievable. I wasn’t prepared that Pooja would turn out to be so good looking. I was shocked when I saw Ayushmann for the first time in Pooja’s get-up. Actually I saw a female’s back on set and I asked Raaj (Shaandilyaa) sir, ‘Is any heroine doing some guest appearance in our film?’ He said, ‘No. That’s Ayushmann’. I was flabbergasted. It took some time for me to adjust with the fact that this is Ayushmann, but after that it was fun.

Since Ayushmann was playing a woman’s character Pooja, did you give any tips to ‘Pooja’?
No. No. It wasn’t necessary. Ayushmann is a devoted and a fantastic actor himself. He knew what he was getting into. Also he had already played Pooja in part 1, though not physically. He came well prepared with a lot of research and homework done. In fact I learnt a few things from him about how to present yourself with ‘Nazakat’. I also learned ‘Kamar’ movements while dancing. Ayushmann was so thorough that I could not take eyes off him when he performed Pooja.

Do you miss that you could not enjoy college life as you started working at 18?
I sometimes miss college life. I didn’t get to enjoy campus life much because I started work too early and got busy with it. I miss the independence it offers when staying alone. All my friends went abroad to study and now they are back. Their complaint is that I don’t have time for them. But now I am going to try to amend that with a little bit of time management. But I don’t want to change my journey so far.

Who do you think is your competition in the industry?
Actually there are many of us among contemporary heroines, viz. Sara Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor. We have competition but it is a healthy competition. I mean, even the new girls are competition for me. So I try to bring uniqueness in every role. For me everyone is a competitor.

Did you watch Ayushmann’s ‘Dream Girl’ when ‘Dream Girl 2’ was offered to you?
‘Dream Girl’ was released back in 2019 which was my debut year. Yes, I had watched it in theatre. And saw it again before the narration because I wanted to understand Raaj sir’s sensibility. Also since it was a sequel, I wanted to have information first hand. Of course, Raaj Sir was there to help but I wanted to grasp the story’s depth so that I understand what Raaj Sir was explaining.

Your father belongs to the film industry. Does he advice you?
Both my parents are my critics and cheerleaders too. They give me honest feedback after each film that I do. Dad always tells me to work on my voice and bettering Hindi. I have unknowingly learnt many things from my Dad. In this film I’m not doing much of comedy. I’m only reacting, which is converted into comedic situations. Frankly, I love comedies and I want to be part of that genre too. Luckily I got an opportunity to be part of an out and out comedy project. It’s called ‘Call Me Bae’ which will be streaming on Amazon Prime soon. I am eager to know the people’s reaction to it. I’m hoping people like me. Keeping my fingers crossed (Smiles).

How do you face success and failure?
There are going to be ups and downs in life. Though I would like all my films to be superhit, it’s asking for too much (Smiles). I had a successful debut in ‘SOTY2’, but I experienced ‘Liger’ not attaining commercial success. So it’s a part of the game. I definitely get elated when my film does well, but if a film of mine flops, I take it in my stride. I analyse it and try to find out the mistakes I must have committed and try to overcome them and improve myself.

I’ve learnt a lot from my Dad as he’s seen a lot through his journey. He told me ‘Success is harder to handle than failure.’ In failure you learn and only go up but in success you understand the real character of a person. People’s attitudes change, ego arises.

See, I can’t plan success, which obviously is not in my hand. The box office is ruled by viewers. But it’s a good thing that it is booming once again. Films like ‘Gadar 2’, ‘OMG 2’, ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’, ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’, ‘Zara Hatke Zara Bachke’, they’ve all done so so well. There’s excitement in the audience they want to see every kind of film. Even small budget films are working. As an audience I’m very excited and as an actor too. One’s success is everyone’s success.

Have you thought to experiment in films?
I’ve experimented on OTT. My 5 projects are on their way to release, ‘Dream Girl 2’ was one of them. I’m doing a cyber thriller film with Vikramaditya Motwane Sir. I’m also doing a film on friendship produced by Zoya Akhtar and Farhan Akhtar. I’m experimenting as I don’t want to get bored and bore the audience at the same time.

How do you prepare yourself as an actor? How much do you depend on your director?
I’m completely a director’s actor and there’s a lot that I depend on. We actors are just the medium making directors vision come to life. I spend a lot of time with my directors. During the making of ‘Dream Girl 2’, I did spend a lot of time with Raaj Sir, as his comic timing is fantastic. He holds a bunch of jokes. If I say I don’t want to say a particular line he’ll give me 10-15 options like say this or that. I do my homework and come but I try to stay fluid. I do not come to sets fixedly, wanting to do something as it is in my head. Because if the director changes the scene or a location, you get stuck. I am not a charlatan, so I try to stay flexible.

It’s easy to make anyone cry but to make someone laugh is the toughest. What are your views?
Comedy is a serious business. Comedy is not easy, you’re either born with it or else you acquire it. If you’re not born with it, it becomes difficult to enact comedic scenes. Not everyone has comic timing. I was lucky to have worked with a director like Raaj Shaandilyaa who is a fabulous writer. He made my life easier while doing comedy because in the movie half the lines and jokes are his. With comedy you can’t be afraid to make mistakes. You have to allow yourself to be a fool and silly. I’ve learnt in comedy that you’ll make mistakes but end result will come good.

What is a takeaway for you from your films?
As an artist I learnt the importance of language. Audiences have seen me play mainly urban characters. I played, for the first time, a girl from Mathura in DG2. I had to speak in a typical tone and I think I have managed well. I enjoyed the
Braj Bhasha.

Which other actors do you like who’ve played Drags?
I think Riteish Deshmukh in ‘Apna Sapna Money Money’. He looked so good as a girl I really loved him in that. He actually looked gorgeous. I can’t think of anyone else now.

How do you deal with the positivity and negativity on social media?
Social media is for communication but these days it’s been misused a lot. Somedays you feel nice as you get praised. Somedays you feel bad as you are abused. I believe in switching off and spending time in the real world a little bit.

Who is your favourite actor and director from Bollywood?
Ranveer Singh and Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

The post Ananya Panday : Success is harder to handle than failure! first appeared on Latest News, Breaking News, National News, World News, India News, Bollywood News, Business News, Politics News, Sports News, Entertainment News - CineBuster.

Most of the time, when a film is a hit or a flop, the actors are held responsible for it. But there’s an actor whose work has always been appreciated even if the film has bombed at the box office. He is Jimmy Sheirgill. Jimmy Sheirgill was born into a Punjabi-Sikh aristocratic family. His paternal great aunt was the famous Indian artist Amrita SheirGil. This Hungarian-Indian painter has been called “one of the greatest avant-garde women artists of the early 20th century” and a pioneer in modern Indian art. Jimmy’s father too has been a noted painter, so the ‘art’ runs in his royal blood. His regal looks and well mannered behaviour too prove that. #JimmySheirgill has been active in film industry for the last 27 years. Having started his journey from a critically acclaimed, #Gulzar directed #Maachis, he has come a long way. He has been part of fabulous projects and has always stood his ground despite the amount of screen time allotted. #Mohabbatein, #MereYaarKiShaadiHai, #MunnabhaiMBBS, #LageRahoMunnabhai, #Charas, #HumTum, #TomDickandHarry, #EklavyaTheRoyalGuard, #AWednesday, #TanuWedsManu, #TanuWedsManuReturns, #SahebBiwiAurGangster, #Special26, #BullettRaja, #Fugly, #BangBang, #Uvaa, #HappyBhagJayegi, #SahebBiwiAurGangster3, #ShubhMangalSaavdhan, #DeDePyarDe, #PatiPatniAurWoh, #DoubleXL are a few films from a very long list of movies Jimmy has been part of.

Jasjit Singh Gill aka Jimmy Sheirgill did interact with our Senior Editor Mr Keerti Kadam while promoting his latest film #Aazam. He said that he never ever thought of being a part of entertainment world. He was good at studies and his life was going on smoothly. But his cousins and friends started coaxing him to try his luck in films. Hesitant initially, because he did not have any formal training in this field and also he did not know anybody in the city, he thought of giving it a try and landed in Mumbai.

What prompted you to be part of the film industry?
My elder brother, who is a decade older to me, and a cousin insisted that I should definitely take a chance to become an actor. Frankly I never thought on those lines but I didn’t know why they were so insistent A lot of others joined in their inclination saying give it a try for about a year and then decide. So I thought I can visit a new place and if nothing works out, will return to Punjab. But Mumbai is Mumbai. Once you step into this magical city, you seldom want to leave it. Same thing happened to me. I fell in love with Mumbai and decided that I’ll settle in this city come what may.

Since I had made a decision to stay back, I started taking myself and acting as a profession seriously. I joined acting classes of Roshan Taneja and started working on the craft. While looking for work I was offered a small role by Gulzar saab in Maachis. But a lot of people discouraged me to not take up that part as it was small. But I knew within me that I do not know anybody out here, I do not have connections, and importantly I did not want to return to Punjab, so I took up that role and it turned out to be a turning point in my life. I also thought that I’ll get to learn a few things being around Gulzar saab, Tabu etc. Maachis is a memorable film for me and it will always have a special corner in my heart, because it is my first film. Also working alongside stalwarts like Kulbhushan Kharbanda saab, Om Puri saab, cinematographer Manmohan Singh I gained a lot of knowledge which helped me in my future projects. Of course I knew Chandrachur Singh and that helped bonding quickly. And others like Ravi Gossain, Amrit Gill, Suneel Sinha were also too good, some of whom are still in touch. In fact, recently I worked with Suneel bhai in a web series and was mighty delighted to meet him and work with him after such a long gap.

You do not seem to have grown up since Maachis. What’s the secret behind your youthful looks?
I did my first film in 1996, so it’s been 27 years that I have been part of the entertainment industry. Coming to your question, there is no secret. I take care of myself. I work hard. Somebody had told me and I know it too, that after passing a certain age one must start taking extra care about oneself. You never know when the ‘light will be off’. I follow a strict diet and is seriously into Yoga. I go for jogging too. I am into dietetics and extremely conscious of what I eat. In this industry looking good and presentable is the need of the hour and I believe in that. It’s a requirement of the job and almost each and every actor does it. That’s why I seriously take care of my health. No one is fortuitous to have a hassle free health.

Also I avoid night shoots as far as possible. I have done a few horror films which required about 40 odd days of night shoot. But at the end of the day (night in this case) you end being a ‘Bhoot’. Also night shoots play havoc with your body physiologically and creates health hazards. I do not mind 4-5 days of night-shoot but beyond that it irks me because body repairing takes long. So usually I avoid night shoots, unless they are of utmost importance.

But for your film Aazam, you did a lot of night shoot…….
Yes. But there’s a reason behind it. Aazam is story of one night around the happenings in the underworld. But the reason behind me agreeing to night shoot is different. I am fond of reading. I like to read scripts. Even if I am given a narration, I demand a script and after reading it I decide on doing the film or not. One of my team members told me that there’s an enquiry about a film which requires 45 days of night shoot. I instantly told them to not go ahead with it and forgot about it. Cut to, once I was going through scripts and I came across a script written in Devnagri. Usually most, or you can say almost all, scripts are written in Hindi but in English script. I was curious to read this script written in Hindi. Within a few pages I realised that this is something different and has a lot of potential for actors. Without taking a break I finished reading it and felt captivated. I asked my staff to find out whose script it is. They told me that it’s the same script which he had requested 45 nights and we already have sent a refusal. I told them to find out whether somebody is locked for that particular role. And even if the answer is yes, find out whether there’s another role, even if small. The script I was reading was Aazam and I was ready to allot even 80 nights for this script.

My team got in touch with Shravan Tiwari who has written it and is a director too. I met him and he was happy that I had decided to do his film. But looking at him I was a little sceptical whether he’ll do justice to the screenplay and I asked him, ‘Bana to loge na?’ He docilely smiled and said, ‘Koshish jarur Karenge’. And that’s how I came on board for Aazam and night shoot.

What made you ask the director, whether he’ll handle the script?
Frankly I did not want to demean him. Shravan looks docile and is well-mannered without any airs. The script in the question is extremely hard hitting and the proceedings are pacy and gory too. Looking at him externally, anyone wouldn’t have guessed that he would give such a hard hitting underworld film. And I did not want such a finely written piece go to waste. But I was wrong because once we started shooting I realised that this guy is extremely talented. He was meticulous and came on sets well prepared, doing his homework. The screenplay is like a masterclass in script writing. And I am not exaggerating. Shravan is a master story teller. He is confident about his writing and that translates on screen. Within a few minutes into the film, you’ll get an idea that you are in for a treat. He used to come on sets well prepared and used to shoot whatever was required, nothing extra. He is an editor too so he had an exact idea about what’ll be shown on screen. And I did apologise to him for doubting him about his ability. He was cool, smiled and said, ‘Achchi film banate hai’.

In fact Shravan has done a film called Kamathipura. Kamathipura: Teen Khoon Ek Raaz should be a good film. I did not watch it because I did not want to be judgemental of the director. It’s human, that if you do not like his previous work it may hamper your judgement on the sets. Earlier too I have done underworld themed films but Aazam is totally different and the treatment given is absolutely fresh and realistic. It focuses on the underworld without going overboard, it’s connection with politics, the police department etc on a psychological level. Everyone will be perplexed with the crime world depicted in this film. Importantly, the people look like common people but their deeds are atrocious.
People say that I have a soft countenance and how I’ll pull off underworld character. But I trust my directors. There are multiple look tests carried out before finalising a particular look. Again there are workshops, plenary of team, discussion on costumes etc and then a character gets born. There is a lot of work done before going in front of the camera. So yes, I enjoy portraying tough characters despite having a soft face (smiles). Also I want to stress here is that I enquired with the director about the ‘lingo’ to be used in the film. Usually a slang and caricaturist language is used while portraying underworld characters. But the director asked us to refrain from that as he wanted his characters to be more human and relatable. We did not want them to look over the top, as that would have ruined the director’s vision.

You usually play a guy who is rejected by a girl. In Aazam too there isn’t lead female character. How do you look at this?
(Laughs) I don’t mind not getting a girl in the film as long as this doesn’t happen in real life (laughs again). There’s nothing of this sort that I get dejected guy’s roles. This became a talking point maybe after Tanu Weds Manu Returns became a superhit. Somebody compiled a story giving a few references and it caught on. In fact it was such a powerful role that I was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor. I have been doing Punjabi films as a leading man and I do get a girl in them. So the talk about my characters not getting a girl should be ignored.

Talking of Punjabi films, I have produced a few Punjabi films. As a producer one must be present on sets on a regular basis. It’s a full time job. You can not leave it to somebody else. Maybe after 4-5 successful films your team can handle affairs whenever you are not on sets. But otherwise if you are not present while shoots, things go awry. So I have taken a break from production and may restart after a while. I am interested in direction too. Actually I like to write and want to direct in future. Also I have an experience of working with some of the best directors in the film industry. But in near future it doesn’t seem to be possible as a lot of good projects are being offered to me lately. Also direction is a difficult job and requires a lot of time. As interesting acting proposals are chasing me right now, I want to concentrate on them.

Any sequels in the offings?
I have no idea. A lot of people are asking me about the sequel of Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster. But no one has approached me for that. In fact, there’s no news of next instalments of Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster or Tanu Weds Manu or Happy Bhag Jayegi. But, yes, I have completed a film by Neeraj Pandey which also has Ajay Devgn and Tabu. And, No, it’s not on the lines of De De Pyar De.

Web series Your Honour was liked by audiences and there’s a demand for it’s sequel. Frankly this is an official adaptation of an Israeli series and when they come up with a sequel, we’ll do it. I have been lucky to have worked with some of the finest directors. All of them have repeated me. I wish Gulzar saab now comes up with a good script and cast me in it. He had, earlier, told me that don’t rely on any one film for your career progression. Keep on working and success will drop in your lap sooner or later. Sometimes you put in a lot of hard work on a film but due to wrong release or lesser promotions, it doesn’t do well then you do feel bad. By pinning hopes on a particular project, your psychological health may get impacted. So I follow my Guru, Gulzaar Saab’s advice and keep working hard.

Social media is gaining importance and a lot of trolling is faced by actors. What do you have to say about it?
Social media is good if used wisely. It was created to bridge the gap between people. It has been beneficial to actors too as they can directly get in touch with their fans. But in recent times there has been a lot of negativity seen here. Some cower and give in. Actors are trolled on flimsy grounds. These faceless people write nasty things which are disturbing sometimes. But I usually ignore these trolls. These trollers just want a 2-minute glory, which you can deny by not reacting.

But an interesting thing is taking place. I have noticed that memes from my films or related to them are being circulated. They are interesting and evoke interest in the said films. A dialogue or a song’s line goes viral. I have come across youngsters praising my work from Maachis. In fact they were not even born when the film was released. I am astonished that people are still talking about Mohabbatein too. Good thing is that all these films are getting an repeat audience on digital space.

#ShraddhaKapoor, a daughter of illustrious father #ShaktiKapoor and mother #ShivangiKolhapure, (sister of famous actress #PadminiKolhapure) has created a special place in Hindi film industry with her acting capabilities and obviously good looks. A very down to earth person Shraddha had an unconventional debut, despite being a star kid. After being part of a few unsuccessful projects, her role in ‘#Aashiqui2’ did wonders for her career and Shraddha Kapoor the star-actor came to the fore. There has been no looking back since then for her as she is dishing out hits. The following year, she portrayed a character based on Ophelia in #VishalBharadwaj directorial ‘#Haider’, opposite #ShahidKapoor. Shraddha’s stardom got cemented with her ‘#EkVillain’ doing well at the box office. Shraddha’s dancing potential was explored in ‘#ABCD2’ which had #VarunDhawan and #Prabhudeva giving her company. She was paired with #TigerShroff in ‘#Baaghi’ which was a runaway hit. She co-starred with (late) #SushantSinghRajput in ‘#Dangal’ fame director #NiteshTiwari’s ‘#Chhichhore’. Shraddha’s highest-grossing releases came with the horror comedy ‘#Stree’. And now she is busy shooting for it’s sequel.

Shraddha Kapoor and #RanbirKapoor starrer ‘#TuJhootiMainMakkar’ released recently and the film is doing rocking business at the box office. Though #DeepikaPadukone was considered for the female lead in #TJMM, Shraddha came on board after a lot of changes were made in the script. Shraddha looks ravishing in the film and her innocent face on a bikini clad body looks guiltless. The fresh pairing of Shraddha and Ranbir is hailed by viewers and they are going ‘ga ga’ over their chemistry in the film. Shraddha Kapoor interacted with our Sr Editor Keerti Kadam and shared her thoughts on many subjects.

How was it working with Ranbir Kapoor in ‘Tu Jhooti Main Makkar’?
I have always been a Ranbir fan. I really admire his versatility. And I definitely was excited to work with him. He is the youngest superstar because he is the finest actor in the film industry, at the moment. He has proved himself multiple times about his calibre of being a good actor. Ranbir is damn cool on sets before ‘action’ and after ‘cut’. For his effortless acting he puts in a lot of efforts. I felt the magic on sets when he was performing. Then again, when you are pitched with an actor of his calibre, something extra special gets extracted out of you. It’s not competition but it helps in betterment of the project. Ranbir and director Luv Ranjan has been friends for quite some time. Luv sir doesn’t give a bound script. He gives scenes before shoot and there’s much lesser time to prepare yourself. I thought even Ranbir would be jittery because of this. I thought he would bombard questions to the director. And I used to ask him whether he is prepared himself, and his answer used to be No. But when the director used to say action, Ranbir would be a different person altogether. He used to be totally transformed. His effusion used to be to the point. He did scenes so effortlessly and it was astonishing. I used to tease him that he secretly was taking the scenes from Luv and was coming on sets by ‘Ratta Maroing’ (mugging lines) throughout the night. But jokes apart we were working together for the first time, though we know each other since childhood, and it was a learning experience working with him. He never was an authoritarian person. It’s inspiring to see that such a good actor does homework and puts in a lot of hard work every time he is facing the camera and the result would be polychromatic.

Do you enquire about who your co-star is before signing a film?
Frankly speaking, No. For me, the script matters the most. And I have refused quite a few films with A-list actors because my role wasn’t to my liking. I have always given importance to what my character is doing in the film. The script and the makers are important and also my role has to have an active part of the story. Talking about Tu Jhooti Main Makkar my character was representing the younger generation girl’s aspirations and their expectations from marriage and importance of personal space. I just loved doing this film because my character was super active. It was impactful as well as challenging and was taking the story ahead.

Like I mentioned earlier, co-star or a hero is not a benchmark for me to choose a film. I don’t have any Hero wish list. Ya, but, I do appreciate a few actors. I admire many and wish to do a film with each one of them. But looking at the actor I do not select films. A lot of people advise me that, do a film with this one or so and so banner, but my parents have taught me that you should listen to everyone’s advice but do what you wish to do. Frankly I think very differently. I did not have a dashing debut despite being a star kid. But I don’t have regrets. My choices, even if they are unconventional, are driven by my heart. My thinking has always been simple. I do not plot or plan anything. Even if I do it, I’ll not be successful, for sure. So I go by my gut feeling. I want to do good work with good people. I want to do all kinds of genres. I want to be a part of good films. I feel fortunate that I have been receiving loads of love from the viewers, irrespective of the films’ fate, and I am grateful for that. And I am sure my admirers know that I have been true to myself. ‘Bahut kimti hai ye pyar’.

I want to confess here about my crush. After the release of ‘Kaho Na Pyar Hai’, my biggest crush had been Hrithik Roshan. In fact I had decided to marry him. My room used to be full of his pictures and posters. It was an obsessive crush. After coming to films, I did meet him and told him that how much I loved him. He laughed it out. We did express our desires to work together. Hopefully something may come up, sooner.

How do you prepare for your assignments?
Well, I rely on director’s vision because he knows the best about an overall impact. I do some research about the character, look of the character and decide on the mannerisms etc. From my side, I work on physicality of the character too. Like in TJMM I was supposed to wear bikini and look sensuous as it was the requirement of the script. I am a foodie. I love Vada Pav. And I can have it any time of the day. I just can not resist it when it’s in front of me. I had told my trainer that I’ll diet only during shoots. Other times I want to have food I like. In fact my character in the film too is a foodie. I don’t know whether Luv sir incorporated that after I came on board. But I love Vada Pav and my mother makes the most delicious Vada Pav, Puranpoli and Ukdiche Modak which are my favourites. Anyways, luckily for me we were shooting in Spain and Vada Pav wasn’t available there. And like I mentioned earlier, I was supposed to be on a diet during the shoot. I did that faithfully though.

A lot of people ask me how do I manage to eat what I like and want. I am into fitness and I go to gym regularly. And of course other times I have a balanced diet. During the promotions of TJMM, I was in Ahmedabad and I had all the Dhokla, Patra, Khandvi etc to my heart’s content. Of course, later I sweated it out in the gym.

You have crossed 80 million followers on Instagram and it talks about your popularity. What do you have to say about it?
Frankly speaking, I used to detest being on social media. But my team advised me to be active on Instagram at least because a lot of my fans were urging for that. I feel lucky to get so much love from people. To reciprocate their love I am on Instagram and keep interacting with them. In fact I go through all the comments, I reply to DMs. I even know who is following and since when. Fans have been supportive throughout, even my films didn’t do well. ‘Unka pyar kabhi kam nahi hua hai’. And I know that this love makes me a star. I think it’s a validation about decisions I make or steps I take. I have been grateful for all the encouragement they give me. So when fans support me so much it’s my duty to put in efforts to be close to them.

But with so much love comes responsibility. So I want to do good work. Because I feel that my innings have started, just now. My viewpoint has changed. Now I don’t think that I should have back to back releases. My film released after the gap of three years and yet I did not feel insecure, one bit. I am not in a hurry. I now definitely know what kind of films I want to do. I want to do a lot of work and I am not in a rush. I am comfortable with myself and I keep assuring myself. Abhi asli maza shuru honewala hai. With clarity comes confidence.

Talking about the support and love, how much support you get from family?
Total support. My Bapu always tells me to be independent. He allows me to take my own decisions. I do discuss everything with my family members and they have been my strength. They show me the mirror. But also I am my biggest critic. I always feel that, I should have done better in scenes. In fact, after this interview too, I’ll think about how would I have answered some questions in a different way. I like my own company. In fact a lot of people are scared to spend time with themselves. If you are not connected with yourself, then how you’ll know about yourself? I am true to myself and try to better myself each passing day.

Your dance reel with your father, Shakti Kapoor, was trending…..
Yes. I and Bapu decided to do a reel on a song from TJMM. Bapu did it in one take. He is a fabulous dancer and he was too good in the reel. But I was not satisfied with my steps, so I requested for a retake. He obliged 20 times, because I took that many retakes and in each one of them he was perfect. All the retakes were because of me. But he did not complain once. He has done almost 700 films and still his dedication towards his craft is immense. That reel received the most likes, and mainly for Bapu’s dancing.

Talking about Bapu, he is extremely entertaining. When he is around, there’s no dull moment. In fact when he is not at home all of us feel bored because he keeps entertaining us from his Good Morning to Good Night. My mother is a Maharashtrian and we speak Marathi with each other, most of time. My father doesn’t know much of Marathi, so when we have to discuss a few secret things when he is around, we talk in Marathi, in a muffled way, we masticate words so that he doesn’t understand. He gets angry as he doesn’t understand what we are talking and we don’t tell him either. It’s our little fun. But I am extremely proud of my father and I don’t have to look outside my house for inspiration.
When I was in school he used to play Villain and there would be a snigger around. A lot of students used to say, ‘Are iska baap to Villain hai’. It didn’t affect me at all because I know my Bapu very well. I used to feel to tell them that, come and meet him in person. He is exactly opposite from his screen personalities. But it helped me in other ways. Because if any boy approached I could use that Villain shield and for me it was a double benefit because my brother, Siddharth, too was in my school who used to confront those guys. So I had a double protection in school.

These days OTT is gaining popularity with big stars. Are you interested?
Of course, why not, if a scintillating script comes my way? I have always given importance to the script and my role. And both are challenging enough, I am game for it. On OTT a lot of women centric subjects are being made. But I enjoy doing ‘Theatrewali’ films. I am a theatre lover and love watching films in theatres, having popcorn and samosa. Last few years have been bad for the Hindi film industry but ‘Pathaan’ has opened the doors and hopefully all the films should do well. It’s our collective duty to keep the theatres alive. I have always been experimenting with choices of my films. I have done a Pan India film. Saaho which was shot in Telugu too. So I am game for any language film provided it fits my criteria.

What are you reading right now?
I love reading. Currently I am reading ‘Deep Work’ by Carl Newport. It’s an interesting read. It’s about rules for focused success in a disastrous world. Deep Work proposes that we have lost our ability to focus deeply and immerse ourselves in a complex task. Showing you how to cultivate this skill again and focus more than ever before. Like I mentioned earlier it’s about spending time with yourself.

A few years back Shraddha Kapoor launched her own line of clothing, Imara. In addition to acting in films, Kapoor has sung several of her film songs. She is connected to Mangeshkar family as her maternal grandfather Pandit Pandharinath Kolhapure was Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar’s first cousin. So singing is in her blood. For ‘Ek Villain’ she recorded a song ‘Galliyan’ which was a superhit. Reminiscing about Lata Didi, Shraddha said, “Lata aaji always encouraged me to sing. She said ‘Never give up on singing’ This kind of Praise coming from her is extra special for me because she thought that I could sing.”

The post Shraddha Kapoor : My all time favourite snack is ‘Vada Pav’! first appeared on Latest News, Breaking News, National News, World News, India News, Bollywood News, Business News, Politics News, Sports News, Entertainment News - CineBuster.

The ongoing #SATTVA2023, the annual youth festival of #NMIMS (Mukesh Patel School of Technology and Management Engineering), is attracting students across colleges in large numbers. On the second day of the fest, #RonnieRodrigues, owner and principal sponsor of SATTVA 2023, attended it as a Special Guest. He was accompanied by beautiful Prerna Chauhan, famous music director #DilipSen and ace choreographer and dancer #SandeepSoparkar.

On this occasion Ronnie Rodrigues said, “The youth is the future of our nation and I always support youth power. You should believe in hard work and your talent will get recognised sooner or later. Coming here reminds me of my college days. The energy in the atmosphere here is contagious and I am filled with youthful energy. The talent on display here is marvellous and I wish all you good luck for your future.”

Music composer Dilip Sen said, “Though I am known as a music director, I was a dance master before that. I used to teach dancing to children. Coming here is making me nostalgic about those days. Through such festivals, new talent gets tapped and I sincerely thank Mr Ronnie Rodrigues for backing this youth fest. Certainly it’ll motivate students to do better in whatever they are good at. A youth fest like this gives us an opportunity to get exposed to the the music from all corners of our country. Today’s film songs are short lived while people still remember Sameer Sen-Dilip Sen’s songs from the nineties. So keep working hard and sincerely.” Mr Rodrigues added here that music is essential in one’s life as it helps in happiness as well as sadness.

Choreographer Sandeep Soparrkar said, “Coming here reminds me of my college days. Although there were not so many programs in our times. Today’s youngsters are progressive enough and they present their talent openly. I would like to thank Mr. Ronnie Rodrigues for inviting me and also backing this wonderful event. There is a lot of positive energy around. The way the singers, musicians and dancers presented the performances here, it is really wonderful. Due to internet and digital revolution, today’s youngsters, especially from smaller places, get an opportunity to learn many things and hone their talent. So all of you, train hard and rehearse sincerely to enhance your talent, success will follow.”Looking very beautiful, Prerna Chauhan said, “I am overwhelmed coming here. I am a college student myself. Seeing this performances from my colleagues, I am getting a lot of motivation. I thank Ronnie sir for giving me this opportunity to be here.
