Singer, songwriter, and classical dancer Raja Kumari to release ‘Kashi to Kailash’!

Renowned singer, songwriter, and classical dancer Raja Kumari is set to release her latest album, #KashitoKailash, a deeply personal and spiritual project inspired by Lord Shiva. Timed with #MahaShivratri, the album reflects her journey of faith, devotion, and transformation.

“This album is something that I was called to make,” Raja Kumari shares. “Certain events in my life, like the cancellation of my tour two years ago, led me towards spirituality. After that, I kept getting visions of Kedarnath Temple, so I didn’t waste time and visited the shrine. As I stood before Lord Shiva, I asked what I should do next, and the answer was clear—surrender. Since then, I knew this was the first project I had to create.”

Her classical roots play a significant role in the album, especially in The Destroyer. “Shiv Tandav has always been a dance I loved as a child. Dressing as Shiva, enacting destruction and creation—it’s always been a part of me. I incorporated the jati from my childhood compositions to honor my years of training.” She also ensured proper pronunciation of Sanskrit verses, believing that “there’s a different energy when you speak the words correctly.”

For Raja Kumari, Maha Shivratri is now deeply personal. “I spend the night in meditation, receiving the high-frequency energies of this sacred time. As a hopeless romantic, I’m also inspired by Shiva and Parvati’s love story, which led me to observe the Sola Somvaar Vrat.”

With Kashi to Kailash, Raja Kumari hopes to bring devotional music into modern times. “I want this album to be a part of people’s celebrations.”

Enchanting bhajans from Bhajan Samrat #AnupJalota was the highlight of the ‘Krishnarth’ programme. Padma Shri awardee Anup Jalota mesmerized the audience with his soulful bhajans at the ISKCON temple in Mumbai. The program, titled ‘Krishnarth’, was organized by Studio Refuel and featured Anup Jalota’s renditions of Lord Krishna’s stories through his songs. Legendary singers Suresh Wadkar and Ghanshyam Vaswani were also present at the event.

Studio Refuel’s CEO (India Chapter) Sachin Tailang and CEO (Dubai Chapter) Raman Chhibber honored the two singers with bouquets. Anup Jalota’s bhajans left the audience spellbound, and his songs like ‘Aisi Lagi Lagan’ and ‘Itani Shakti Hamein Dena Data’ forced everyone to hum along.

Anup Jalota thanked Studio Refuel and its team for organizing the event in just one day, saying that such programs should continue to happen. He praised the power of devotional music, saying it brings peace and tranquility to the heart and soul.

Kumarr from Studio Refuel said that he has been a fan of Anup Jalota’s voice since childhood and that his mother used to listen to his bhajans. Anup Jalota agreed to perform at the next program, and Kumar expressed his gratitude, saying that they all benefited greatly from the evening’s devotional music.”
