Combining horror, suspense and human emotions, the film is scheduled to release in theatres on October 23. The makers have now unveiled a new poster, adding to the growing anticipation around the project.

Presented by Shri Mahadev Film Production and produced under the banner of Adhyansh Motion Picture, ‘Mrutyuchakra’ is produced by Pranali Unmesh Waghmode. Vilas Waghmode and Anuprita Kadu-Gangawane have directed the film.

The poster offers a glimpse into the film’s dark and mysterious world. At its centre is an ancient wheel with what appears to be a reddish planet or moon at its core. The faces of several characters surround the wheel, suggesting that each one may be connected to a separate story, hidden truth or unresolved mystery.

The cast includes Shashank Shende, Akshaya Gurav, Pushkaraj Chirputkar, Aastad Kale, Varsha Dandale, Kritika Tulsakar, Sanika Banaraswale, Sanjay Shejwal, Shalaka Gade, Shara Gaikwad, Jitendra Pol and Anil Rabale, along with several other actors.

Dr. Sudhir Nikam has written the story, while the screenplay and dialogues have been penned by Vilas Waghmode and Dr. Sudhir Nikam. Rohan Shah serves as the Creative Producer.

Jayesh Mistry’s UJM Networks & Entertainment LLP will distribute the film across Maharashtra. Nishant Bhagwat is the Director of Photography and Rahul Bhatankar is the editor. Kedar Divekar has composed the music and background score, while Valay Mulgund has written the lyrics. The songs have been performed by Suhas Sawant and Shamika Bhide.

Mayur Pawar is the Production Designer, with Kunal Vedpathak handling the Art Direction. Kirti Jangam Joshi is the Costume Designer, while Santosh Gaikawad is responsible for the Makeup.

Joining the wave of appreciation, actress Mrunal Thakur took to her social media handle to celebrate Gondhal’s Oscar selection and showered warm praise on director Santosh Davakhar for this impressive achievement.

Earlier, Gondhal also earned a significant recognition at the International Film Festival of India. Its official entry at the Oscars not only brings with it glorious pride but also marks a milestone for Marathi cinema at the Academy Awards. The film was selected from a list of 33 contenders, with P Seshadri serving as the chairperson of the selection committee. Now, Gondhal becomes the fourth Marathi film to be chosen as India’s official Oscar entry, following ‘Shwaas’ (2005), ‘Harishchandrachi Factory’ (2009) and ‘Court’ (2015).

The trailer offers glimpses of events unfolding around a police officer, the criminal underworld and a mysterious ‘Devghar’ (shrine). Action has been given special prominence, with glimpses of chases, hand-to-hand combat and intense confrontations.

At the same time, the mysterious atmosphere surrounding the Devghar, spiritual references and inexplicable incidents suggest that the film is not merely an action entertainer, but one that takes audiences into an intriguing world of mystery. The dramatic storyline is complemented by impactful action sequences, while the South Indian style of action has been incorporated to give the film a larger-than-life scale.

The film features Nikhil Chavan, Ankit Mohan, Bhau Kadam, Shashank Shende, Ashwini Chavare, Vaibhav Chavan, Suresh Vishwakarma, Anil Nagarkar, Siddheshwar Zadbuke and Gautami Patil in pivotal roles. South Indian actors Garuda Ram of KGF fame and Shravan Raghavendra will also be seen in significant roles.

Music composers S. Sagar and Kabir Shakya have given a melodious touch to the film’s meaningful songs, while the choreography has been handled by Kishor Dalvi. Cinematography is by DOP Chaitanya Salunke, with background music composed by Rohit Nagbhide. The action sequences have been choreographed by Rakesh Patil and Kartik Dangari.
