Set nearly three decades after the initial outbreak of the rage virus, 28 Years Later explores a world where survivors have adapted to coexist with the infected. The narrative follows a father and son who leave the safety of their fortified island community to venture into the perilous mainland, uncovering secrets and confronting horrors that challenge their resilience.

The film boasts a distinguished cast, including Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ralph Fiennes, Jack O’Connell, and Edvin Ryding. Cillian Murphy, the original film’s lead, returns as an executive producer, adding a layer of continuity and intrigue for longtime fans.

Sony Pictures Entertainment India will release 28 Years Later in cinemas on June 20, 2025.
