#AamirKhan holds the throne as Indian cinema’s ultimate megastar, with a string of genre-busting blockbusters that showcase his commanding charisma, meticulous craft, and unforgettable portrayals. One of his crowning achievements is 3 Idiots, where he embodied the legendary Rancho a timeless cult hit that still captivates fans worldwide.
After over 15 years, the highly anticipated sequel to this beloved classic has been greenlit, sparking massive hype. Now, fresh intel confirms Aamir Khan has kicked off production on the 2009 smash’s follow-up.

An industry insider discloses that Aamir has dove into 3 Idiots 2, which is deep in pre-production. The original dream team—Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan, and Sharman Joshi—will reprise their iconic roles in this eagerly awaited continuation.

The source drops more bombshells: expect a significant time leap, placing the characters far beyond their college days from the first film. The real shocker? The story’s timeline remains a mystery—will it rewind to the past or fast-forward ahead? Only Aamir holds the full script secrets for now. Rajkumar Hirani, the genius behind the original, is also on board to direct once more.
Rancho, Aamir’s witty, insightful free spirit, became a cinematic icon under Hirani’s vision, joined by R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Boman Irani, and Mona Singh. 3 Idiots won hearts with its heartfelt bonds, hilarious campus antics, and sharp critique of rote learning.

A global phenomenon, it raked in over ₹400 crore worldwide and dominated China—outpacing even Avatar—to etch itself as an Indian film legend.

Rajkumar Hirani is a rare filmmaker whose stories don’t just entertain, they stay with you. A master storyteller in the truest sense, Hirani has the unique ability to blend humor, emotion, and social insight into narratives that feel deeply personal yet universally relatable. With 3 Idiots, he didn’t simply make a successful film; he created a cultural moment. Sixteen years later, the film continues to resonate across generations, proving that Hirani’s cinema, rooted in empathy and clarity of intent—transcends time.

Rajkumar Hirani’s Storytelling : Rajkumar Hirani has always believed that cinema works best when it begins with empathy. 3 Idiots never mocks ambition or education—it questions the systems that strip joy from learning. Hirani’s storytelling doesn’t preach; it listens.

By grounding the film in lived emotions rather than lofty ideals, he created a narrative that feels intimate despite its massive scale. That emotional honesty is what keeps the film timeless.

Aamir Khan Performance : At a stage when most leading stars were playing safe, Aamir Khan chose to portray Rancho—a character driven by curiosity rather than conformity. His performance isn’t about heroism in the traditional sense; it’s about sincerity.

Aamir’s commitment to playing characters that challenge social norms, rather than reinforce them, gives 3 Idiots its emotional backbone. Rancho feels aspirational not because he’s flawless, but because he’s fearless in being himself.

The Film Asked the Right Questions—Before Everyone Else Did : Long before conversations around mental health, academic pressure, and parental expectations became mainstream, 3 Idiots was already there.

The film dared to ask uncomfortable questions:

• Why is success measured so narrowly?

• Why is failure treated like a stigma?

• Why is joy in learning considered secondary?

Sixteen years later, these questions remain unresolved—making the film feel less dated and more prophetic.

Humor and Emotion Were Perfectly Balanced : One of Hirani’s greatest strengths is his ability to blend humor with heartbreak without diluting either. 3 Idiots moves effortlessly from laughter to silence—from “All Is Well” to moments that leave a lump in the throat.

This tonal balance ensures the film never feels heavy-handed. It entertains first, then gently nudges the audience toward reflection—a quality many message-driven films struggle to achieve.

Its Emotional Recall Is Still Unmatched : Few Hindi films enjoy the kind of emotional recall 3 Idiots does. Dialogues, scenes, and even silences continue to live on in pop culture. More importantly, the film finds new audiences with every generation—students, parents, professionals—each relating to it differently.

That kind of longevity doesn’t come from trends or technology. It comes from truth.

Why 3 Idiots Still Matters : Sixteen years later, 3 Idiots stands tall not because it was perfect, but because it was honest. Rajkumar Hirani’s compassionate direction combined with Aamir Khan’s integrity as a performer resulted in a film that didn’t just entertain, it reassured.

In a cinematic landscape that constantly evolves, 3 Idiots remains a reminder that stories rooted in empathy, courage, and authenticity never really age.

A few years back in a #AamirKhar starrer #3Idiots a concept of school with practical training was manifested which garnered a lot of support. Once more a similar concept has been incorporated in a marathi film #EkdaKayZal directed by music composer turned director #DrSalilKulkarni. Usually stories around mother-son bond are made but in movies like #Waqt, #Apne, #Masoom etc a father-son bond was explored. In marathi films #TaryancheBet, #Baba, #Ringan etc conceptualised the same. Ekda Kay Zal too is mainly on a father-son bond and it’s aftermaths. In a sub text it points out a lacunae in the prevailing education system and subtly suggests remedies.

Marathi films have been exploring various content heavy subjects and Dr Salil Kulkarni takes it forward. Ekda Kay Zal explores family bonds and father-son relationship and takes it to another level. Kiran (Sumeet Raghavan) is running a school of a different kind. In the school, Nandanvan, in Pune, children are taught various subjects through storytelling and the use of theatre. He has support of his family which includes his wife Shruti (Urmila Kanetkar Kothare), little son, Chintan (Child artiste Arjun Purnapatre), father (Mohan Agashe) and mother (Suhas Joshi). His father was a reputed publisher but supports his son’s endeavour. Kiran tells one story every month through skits which allows students to understand subjects easily. He has bigger plans of expansion like to own an amphitheatre and gets assurance from the same from a Cultural minister Avinash Patil (Hrishikesh Deshpande). Meanwhile, Kiran’s friend, Jay (Pushkar Shrotri), uploads videos of Kiran’s storytelling and plays, which garners support from the public. But soon thereafter, Kiran is diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia. Although his treatment begins, Kiran feels depressed. What happens to Chintan, who is entirely dependent on his father, forms the crux of narration.

Dr Salil Kulkarni has kept everything simple here and that makes it more impactful. The dialogues are appealing and he has interspersed light humour to keep the proceedings not too heavy. The drama holds the audience’s attention and keeps them engrossed. But things slow down a bit after Kiran is diagnosed with leukaemia. Dr Kulkarni, being a medico himself, has shown medical processes and happening with authenticity. Music and lyrics are helpful to the narration. The movie scores high in acting department. Sumeet Raghavan is always a treat to watch while performing. The ease in his acting is marvellous. He has shown variety of emotions which makes his role humane. Mohan Agashe, Suhas Joshi, Urmila Kanetkar, Pushkar Shrotri are very good. The child actor Arjun Purnapatre impresses with his innocent portrayal.

Ekda Kay Zal is a slice of life film and will be liked by all generations.

#3Idiots is one such film that we can’t get tired of even if we watch it the 100th time! That’s the magic of the film’s spectacular characters, its emotional connect, strong social message and foot-tapping music. No matter how old you get, the film has taught us life lessons that would stay with us forever. This Teacher’s Day relive the charm let pure entertainment teach you some nice lessons in a humorous way. Catch the film on 5th September at 8 PM only on Sony MAX.

Let us look at the few lessons that the film taught us:

Kehna Kya Chahte Ho
Legendary actor Achyut Potdar who plays the role of a professor might have played a small role in the movie, but it was significant nevertheless. His interaction with Rancho over a simple definition of “machine” stresses how we usually tend to complicate certain things and concepts in life. There’s always an easy way out, All Izz Well!

Life is not a race
The film throws light on the passion while pointing out that “Life isn’t a race”. We all should go at our pace and do not thrive to compete with others. Our biggest competition is with the self and not with the people around us. No matter how occupied we are, we should always try to borrow time to fulfil our passion and live for our dreams.

Designation doesnt matter, happiness does
The film’s climax is probably one of the best climax scenes in any Bollywood movie’s. The scene has the power to make you laugh while also simultaneously leaving you teary-eyed. More significantly, the scene inspires us to believe one thing – it doesn’t matter where you work, whether you are a scientist, a businessman or a school teacher, you should be happy with what you are doing. Your success is not necessarily another person’s failure.

No need for textbooks, just get your remote to tune in to ‘3 Idiots’ on 5th September at 8 PM only on Sony MAX.

The post “3 Idiots” teaches 3 life-lessons! first appeared on Latest News, Breaking News, National News, World News, India News, Bollywood News, Business News, Politics News, Sports News, Entertainment News - CineBuster.

“I hate being anywhere near a cooking range. That’s just not my cup of tea. I can surely serve some instant noodles if someone shows up at an odd hour. I tried making a ‘sunny-side-up’ for my breakfast once and it was such a struggle. But I have learnt to make ‘Adrak and lemongrass tea’ during the lockdown and I am struggling for perfection, once again,” he said.

Talking about his love for food, he revealed, “I do like to try out new dishes, taste a variety of cuisines but my horizons in that sense are not very broad. I generally prefer going with my liking of specific dishes and restaurants. But sometimes, I do try out a few new things on my own.”

“I have a sweet tooth and I can go on and on when it comes to sweets. But spicy food is a big ’no-no’ for me. I really can’t take that. My choice of food also largely depends on the mood I am in. Sometimes it is just hunger oriented like ‘jo bhi hai de do. bohot bhookh lagi hai’ philosophy. But there are also times when I want to eat something specific for its taste or may be specific to the restaurant. The bottom line is, I am a ‘moody-foodie’ person,” he added.

When asked about his views on celebrities talking about having sugar-free food items, he said he doesn’t support that and added, “I personally don’t advocate it as they contain artificial sweeteners which are even worse for our health. Moreover, I feel that anything and everything is alright, when done in moderation. And as I mentioned earlier, I have a sweet tooth and I binge on sweets many times. But thanks to my higher metabolism, it doesn’t show up the way it does in the case of many others. I can literally eat whatever I want, how much I want, whenever I want. I consider myself really lucky in this regard.”

The young actor also asserted the need to have a balanced diet which consists of ‘Sattvik’ (nutritional) and seasonal food, fresh fruits, etc. He said, “The urge to have healthy eating habits should come from within as it implies a change in one’s lifestyle. I also think that persistence towards the choices one makes matters the most. Going on crash diets in order to lose weight isn’t a sustainable option as it is going to take its toll on one’s mind and body. As actors, having pretty hectic and erratic schedules, it’s very important for us to follow a suitable diet and maintain healthy food habits. We have to be careful all the time about what we eat as it directly reflects on our face and body.”

Dusshyant also shared his opinion on home cooked vs outside food. He called it a never-ending debate and said, “I love eating outside food. In fact, there are days which are ‘strictly-no-ghar-ka-khana’ for me. I am a junk food lover, and I have my episodes of binging on pizzas, burgers, subway sandwiches and whatnot. But as I said, such binges are alright only if you have them in moderation.”

“I do eat restaurant food on occasions. The delivery services have indeed made our lives easy. It is a convenient way for lazy people like me to order their favourite food items sitting at home instead of going to the restaurant, especially when one hates cooking. Also, in our busy and hectic lives, it’s time consuming and stressful to visit your favourite restaurant every single time. Home delivery services come handy and act as a boon,” he added.

Lastly, the actor, who has been a part of TV shows like “Ishq Mein Marjawaan”, “Mere Angne Mein” and “The Buddy Project”, said that there is one ritual that he follows in every meal. “I never ever waste food. You will always see my plate empty and clean at the end of my meal,” he said.

“I think there are thousands of people out there who are starving and don’t get to eat for days, sometimes they have to survive even without a drop of water. So wasting even a tiny portion of food is criminal, according to me. I consider myself blessed that I am able to have fresh food every day and I see to it that the food is never wasted everywhere I go,” Dusshyant concluded.

The post Dusshyant Wag hates being anywhere near a cooking range! first appeared on Latest News, Breaking News, National News, World News, India News, Bollywood News, Business News, Politics News, Sports News, Entertainment News - CineBuster.

It’s a fact that friends are essential part of life. Given the current times of corona virus infected pandemic, no pandemic can break the bonds of friendship in our films. While the day to celebrate one’s chosen friends should be 365 days of the year, Friendship Day every August is religiously held in special stead for scores of close pals. But this year, things are bound to be different. So even though you can’t high five your bestie, these six Hindi films can serve as the perfect binge party this Sunday. These wholesome and fun bonds of companionship are exactly what you need this weekend whether you’re smiling at your friends miles away through pixelated video calls or have the privilege of camping under the blankets for a movie night.

Axone : One of Netflix’s latest offerings, ‘Axone’ is a slice-of-life comedy that entertains and educates through its simple storytelling. Set in Delhi, the film follows an important day in the life of a group of friends all from the north-east states of India who want to prepare a traditional pork dish for their friend’s wedding, but the striking smell the dish emanates while being cooked results in a comedy of errors. Against the backdrop of a chaotic and comical story, the film unravels the inherent racism in metro cities. The film stars Sayani Gupta, Dolly Ahluwalia, Tenzin Dalha, and Vinay Pathak as well as actors from the region Asenla Jamir, Lin Laishram, and Lanuakum Ao and is directed by Nicholas Kharkongor. Produced by Yoodlee Films, ‘Axone’ is one for all those times your group got into inadvertent trouble and had a blast while doing it!

F.A.L.T.U : F.A.L.T.U (short for Fakirchand and Lakirchand Trust University) was a film Indian comedy film directed by Remo D’Souza and produced by Pooja Entertainment. Starring Jackky Bhagnani, Arshad Warsi, Riteish Deshmukh, Puja Gupta, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Angad Bedi and others, it is a telling tale of a group of friends who make an effort to re-write the education norms in the country, to fuel indigenous thinking and make ‘people’ out of students, not robots. Given the recent change in the education system in India, this is quite an apt movie to watch now. .This movie easily resonates with those considered traditionally a ‘waste’ in the academic circuit but have the means and the intelligence to make a difference and can hope to be given a chance to do so.

Chhichhore : A film that guarantees hearty laughs and bittersweet tears, ‘Chhichhore’ aptly depicts the immensely eventful hostel life in Indian colleges and the carefree fun it brings for scores of youngsters in the country. A 2019 release, the comedy-drama received critical acclaim for its direction, acting, social message and did considerably well as the box office as well. With an ensemble cast lead by Sushant Singh Rajput and Shraddha Kapoor, and directed by Nitesh Tiwari the touched hearts for its relatable storyline that exemplified the cut-throat competition of India’s education system, the pressure it puts on young minds and how a supportive group of friends overcomes it all. There’s little in this film that you and your gang won’t connect with.

Dil Chahta Hai : This one is not just for the 90s-2000s kids who believed with all their hearts that goatees were cool. ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ is for all those groups that broke up and found each other again cause life is too hard to not patch up with your best mates. Set in urban Mumbai and in Sydney, the film follows college-graduate friends Aakash, Sameer and Siddharth, played by the charming trio of Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, grappling with major transitions in the adult and romantic lives. A coming-of-age film that marked the directorial debut of Farhan Akhtar, ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ won the National Award for Best Feature Film with crores of youngsters who agreed.

3 Idiots : Three might as well be the magic number here! There isn’t a moment since 2009 when people across the country haven’t criticised the Indian education system or spoken about engineering woes without citing ‘3 Idiots’. A comedy-drama that young India needed, and one of Rajkumar Hirani’s most memorable tales, the film follows the unlikely bond between three students stumbling through life at the country’s most prestigious and reputed engineering college. A satire about the social pressures of a rat race to be the best in a billion, the film starred Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi in the lead roles. ‘3 Idiots’ gave us more than just hilarious moments and memorable characters like Virus. It gave us lessons that ring true even in 2020. So listen to Behti Hawa Sa Tha Woh and tear up a little thinking of that favourite college bud who changed your life. It’s warranted.

Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na : Another fresh out of college romantic saga is Imran Khan’s popular acting debut film ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’, that pretty much set unattainable standards for love and relationship in every teenager’s mind in 2007. Following the inseparable “Rats” and “Meow”, a pair of best friends unknowingly in love with each other, and their larger group navigating the ups and downs of romance as young adults, the Abbas Tyrewala film was a recipe for success. Years later, the film has a cult following with iconic moments fondly remembered. Also starring Genelia Dsouza in the lead, ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaana Na’ was the stuff of dreams with its soundtrack and plot twists, that managed to pull off a cliche climax.

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara : Exotic foreign landscapes, thrilling to even watch adventure sports, and a dream road trip that never happens in real life – ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ is probably not the best watch in the current scenario. A ‘buddy‘ road film starring an ensemble cast of Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol and Farhan Akhtar, Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechlin, it follows three childhood friends reuniting for a trip before one of them ties the knot. Directed by Zoya Akhtar, who filmed across Spain, India, Egypt, and the United Kingdom, their seemingly perfect trip goes through various ups and downs as they fight personal battles and discover themselves and their relationship all over again. If the vibe around the film isn’t enough to watch it over and over again, watch it for that soulful soundtrack and journal-worthy poetry. This one is an absolute must.

On Friendship Day this year, get sentimental with these six all-time favourite friendship-movies.

The post Corona or No-Corona, nothing can break bonds of friendship first appeared on Latest News, Breaking News, National News, World News, India News, Bollywood News, Business News, Politics News, Sports News, Entertainment News - CineBuster.

There have been countless instances where a song has played a crucial role in audiences falling in love with a movie all the more. For generations, filmmakers have released songs as the first glance of their upcoming movie and the Bollywood fans have accepted them with wide arms. Over the years, Bollywood music has drastically changed, some may say for the better but some may say they still love the good old melodies of charming love songs of yesteryear. While in the past decade, remixes and raps have dominated the charts there have been a few chartbusters that have ruled hearts across the board.

As the world celebrates Fête de la Musique or International Music Day this month, here’s a list of songs that we have loved throughout the past decade. These songs have been successful in capturing every emotion and making us fall in love all over again.

Zoobie Doobie – 3 Idiots – Zoobie Doobie was just the perfect way to describe how Rancho and Pia were feeling when they fall in love with each other. Swanand Kirkire’s brilliant lyrics blended perfectly with Shantanu Moitra’s tune and was sung by two of Hindi Film industry’s most charming voices Shreya Ghoshal and Sonu Nigam. The song that also features Boman Irani is not the usual running-around-the-trees kind of romantic song but it will still make you Zoobi Doobi for sure! Still not convinced? Okay, then you must surely watch this song to see Aamir Khan shake a leg like a pro. Watch 3 Idiots on 20th June at 8 PM on Sony MAX.

Love is a waste of time – PK – We are staying with the dynamic quadruple of Swanand Kirkire, Shantanu Moitra, Shreya Ghoshal and Sonu Nigam – this time to talk about a love song, which ironically claims it to be a “Waste of Time”. The song comes just when you start loving Aamir and Anusha’s chemistry in the movie and makes you fall in “love” with PK and Jaggu all the more. The song leads to some interesting series of events in the movie but there is a high possibility your mind may be stuck on this duet. Watch PK on 27th June at 8 PM only on Sony MAX.

Jag Ghoomiya – Sultan – There is hardly a better way to describe love with Salman dancing, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan singing on Irshad Kamil’s lyrics. This track has love written all over it. If you were reading this and if you have watched Sultan before, there is a high possibility that you have paused to watch this song again. Correct? Well, not your fault. We would be right when we say Vishal – Shekhar nailed it with the composition of this song which captures Salman’s every emotion in the movie for Anusha. Be it magical lyrics such as baarishon ke mausamon kee, bheegee hariyaalee tu, sardiyon mein gaalon pe jo, aatee hai vo laalee tu or Salman’s signature spin – this song will offer just about everything. Watch Sultan on 21st June at 8 PM only on Sony MAX.

Raat bhar – Heropanti – Any playlist of Bollywood songs is probably incomplete without at least one Arijit Singh song. Agree? Well, assuming it is a yes, here’s a song that gave a glimpse of Tiger Shroff’s dancing capabilities and also introduced us to the gorgeous Kirti Sanon. This track sung by Arijit and Shreya in 2014 still rules our hearts and if you are wondering why, we suggest you to watch Heropanti on 24th June at 3 PM only on Sony MAX.

Tum Hi aana – Marjaavan – “Bande na, dil se gaya hay yaar” there is a high possibility you will say this once you hear Jubin Nautiyal sing this amazingly slow yet powerful track Tum hi aana from Marjaavan. Composed by Payal Dev this is probably the song you would want to listen to when you are in the mood for a slow love ballad. Watch Marjaavan on 18th June at 8 PM only on Sony MAX.

Sing along as you binge your favourite movies on Sony MAX this June

The post Songs that’ll make you fall in love, again first appeared on Latest News, Breaking News, National News, World News, India News, Bollywood News, Business News, Politics News, Sports News, Entertainment News - CineBuster.

For the past four decades, Vidhu Vinod Chopra has delivered record-breaking movies and while he has always been praised for his works, he has also faced criticism from a few. The talented filmmaker who has always brought forward a heavy dose of entertainment for his audience has had a recent release with his latest directorial Shikara. Based on the exodus of Kashmiri Hindu Pandits in the valley, the movie starring debutants Aadil Khan and Saadia, is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

Talking about how he dealt with the criticism that he faced for the authenticity of Shikara’s story and how he has commercialised the plot, Chopra shared, “I have also heard people say that I have diluted or misrepresented the plot for commercial gains. I find these claims very dubious since most of the people who are saying this on digital media have not seen the movie. They probably have other motives to spread negativity. And also these trolls don’t know the exact meaning of commercialisation.

Some of the film’s I’ve made have opened at 30 to 40 crore. I spent many years of my life making Shikara knowing fully well that it will never have an opening like that because I wanted to tell a story about my people and their endurance and courage. I also wanted to fulfil the promise I made to my mother before she died in exile in 2005. If I wanted to make a movie with only commercial gain in mind, then I would have made a Munna Bhai or 3 Idiot’s sequel. That is simple logic that most people will understand. The commercialisation accusation is baseless and I would urge all to see the movie and judge for themselves.”

Chopra went on to share that his journey from a small town lower-middle-class boy to a successful filmmaker has been deeply satisfying. Talking about his four-decade-long journey in Bollywood, he said, “It has been a dream come true. I came from a small mohalla in Kashmir with a dream to become a filmmaker. My father slapped me when I told him that I wanted to make movies, he felt that I will die of hunger in Bombay. My journey from a small town lower middle class boy to where I’ve reached has been deeply satisfying.”

After being a part of stellar movies like 3 Idiots, PK, Sanju, Shikara, Parinda, 1942: A Love Story and many more, we are eager to see what more the filmmaker has in store for the audience.

The post ‘My father slapped me when I told him that I wanted to make movies’ ; Vidhu Vinod Chopra first appeared on Latest News, Breaking News, National News, World News, India News, Bollywood News, Business News, Politics News, Sports News, Entertainment News - CineBuster.
