IMDb “Breakout Star” STARmeter Award bagged by Kani Kusruti!

IMDb (www.imdb.com), the world’s most popular and authoritative source for information on movies, TV shows, and celebrities, presented an IMDb “#BreakoutStar” STARmeter Award to #AllWeImagineasLight and #GirlsWillBeGirls star Kani Kusruti. The award recognizes strong performers on the Popular Indian Celebrities list on the IMDb app. It charts the page views of the more than 250 million monthly visitors to IMDb worldwide, and has proven to be a keenly accurate predictor of stars who are about to have a breakthrough career moment.

Kusruti stars in Payal Kapadia’s All We Imagine as Light, as Prabha, a Malayali nurse working in Mumbai. The film made history at the 77th Cannes Film Festival in 2024 by winning the Grand Prix, marking the first time an Indian film participated in the main competition since 1994. It also received two nominations at the 82nd Golden Globe Awards. After the movie’s recent streaming release, Kusruti rose to prominence on the Popular Indian Celebrities list. IMDb customers have given All We Imagine as Light a rating of 7.2/10.

Kusruti’s other notable works include #KeralaCafe, #Biriyaani, #OKComputer, and Girls Will Be Girls. She has been nominated for Best Supporting Performance for Girls Will Be Girls at the upcoming 40th Independent Spirit Awards taking place in February. Additionally, All We Imagine as Light is nominated for Best International Feature.

‘All We Imagine As Light’ gets a release date for India!

#PayalKapadia, director, All We Imagine As Light and #RanaDagubatti’s #SpiritMedia spoke about their collaboration on the film’s theatrical release in India. Payal Kapadia’s All We Imagine As Light is all set for its Indian release on 22nd November, 2024, with distribution led by Spirit Media. Payal Kapadia and actor-producer Rana Daggubati shared their thoughts on the film’s global journey and its upcoming plans in India. Speaking about the India theatrical release, Payal Kapadia shared, “This film has been years in the making, and with our partnership with Spirit Media, I am incredibly excited for the next phase. It is for the first time that a film of mine will be released in theatres and Indian audiences will finally be able to buy tickets and experience it on a big screen, where cinema truly comes to life.”

Rana Daggubati expressed his enthusiasm and said, “We are very excited to bring this incredible film to Indian theatres. At Spirit Media, we are committed to bringing unique and meaningful stories to audiences across the country. Payal has made a beautiful film, and we can’t wait to share it with Indian audiences.”

The film is all set to hit theatres across India on 22nd November 2024 and will be available in all major cities, including Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Kochi, Thiruvantanapuram and Kolkata. The film is an official Indo-French co-production between Petit Chaos from France and Chalk & Cheese and Another Birth from India.

The film is being distributed in India by Rana Dagubatti’s Spirit Media across all major cities.
