Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby Deol’s ‘Apne 2’ is all set to go on floors in March 2022!

It was not long ago that producer Deepak Mukut of Soham Rockstar Entertainment and director Anil Sharma had announced the second instalment of the family drama, Apne 2 starring none other than the fantastic trio, Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby Deol.

The Deepak Mukut produced and Anil Sharma directed film was all set to go on floors in UK this month and commence shooting after having roped in Karan Deol, Sunny Deol’s son. However, the makers of the movie have decided to push the commencement owing to multiple factors.
The dynamic producer Deepak Mukut says “The film has to be shot across London. Since things have only now begun to open up the world over, director Anil Sharma and I thought it would be best to push the project by a few months, and shoot when the situation is more conducive. Another factor influencing this decision was Karan’s prep for the movie, he has to be trained in boxing. However, the US-based boxer, who was roped in for his training, has been unable to fly down to India.”

Adding to this, Anil Sharma, the visionary has confirmed the news saying “The film has now been pushed. We will start shooting by March 2022 and are truly excited for it.”

Apne, which released in 2007 had gone on to become a cult film and was a superhit at the box office, so a second instalment of the film was only natural. With the legendary actor Dharmendra Deol and the talented Sunny, Bobby and Karan Deol, Apne 2 will surely go down in entertainment history as a super successful film franchise! ‘Apne 2‘ director Anil Sharma has always been giving blockbuster hits with Deol family

In 2007, Anil Sharma, the man behind India’s most watched film ever Gadar-Ek Prem Katha, was also instrumental in putting together a casting coup that left the industry stunned and surprised.

For the first time ever, the maverick filmmaker got the entire Deol family – the legendary Dharmendra and his superstar sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol – to share screen space for the first time together, in Apne.

The film went on to become a rage at the ticket counters and was a blockbuster packed with the right action and emotion.

To this date, Sharma happens to be the only director to have not only worked with the three Deols but deliver superhit films with each of them individually and together.

While the trio did work together again in a few films, the magic of Apne could not be recreated again.

With Karan Deol also joining the terrific trio, Apne 2 will be the first time where all the three generations of the Deol family will be seen together.

Anil Sharma shares, “I have always had a fantastic time working with Dharam ji. Then I worked with Sunny and Bobby and now, with Sunny’s son Karan. The Deols have always been like family to me and we have always entertained the audience with our family driven films. Apne 2 will always be special as it brings the three generations together.”

Taking that ahead, we are bringing in Apne 2 next Diwali that also marks the first film for all the three generations of the Deol family together.”

‘Apne’ writer Neerraj Pathak roped in by Anil Sharma and Deepak Mukut for the sequel !

The biggest Bollywood announcement of the year was made a few weeks ago when producer Deepak Mukut and director Anil Sharma revealed that they are coming together with the Deol family once again for Apne 2. The Legendary actor Dharmendra will be joined by his sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol and grandson Karan Deol for the sequel. Now, they have also locked the main writer for the second part.

Director Anil Sharma will be reuniting with his Apne writer Neerraj Pathak for Apne 2 as well. He shares, “I had been looking out for the perfect script to make Apne 2. I had received around 10-12 story ideas but Neerraj who worked with us and wrote Apne for us, came up with this fantastic script which touched all of us.

Though Apne 2 is a completely new story, Neerraj’s writing will help us retain the same emotions and sanctity attached to Apne. The essense of the characters is in his blood. I’m happy to be working with Neerraj Pathak once again on Apne 2.”

But a tragedy could have possibly been a big roadblock to their association. Neerraj contracted Covid 19 and reached out to Sharma. He adds, “It was a huge struggle for him. When he got diagnosed with the Corona virus, Neerraj called me and told me about it. He was so professional that he didn’t want this to affect the progress of the movie and asked me to get some other writer to work on Apne 2, if I wanted. But we were sure that we wanted him only, kyunki apne toh apne hote hai. He himself fought like a fighter, a boxer and recovered.”

Deepak Mukut says, “Apne 2 would have felt incomplete without Neerraj Pathak. The characters are his brainchild and nobody knows the world better than him. So we are happy that Neerraj is joining us on the journey.”

Neerraj adds, “I have had a fantastic association with Anil Sharma ji in Apne. Deepak ji and I go back a long way, as he was my first producer and I am happy to be associated with him again. It’s an honour to be writing again for the Deols and Karan deol is joining the cast. I am thrilled and excited to give it my best.”

The script is now ready in place and the film shoot will kickstart in Punjab and Europe from March 2021. The film is presented by Soham Rockstar Entertainment and produced by Deepak Mukut, is being readied for a grand Diwali release next year.

Hindi film industry’s first ‘He Man’ is celebrating his 85th birthday today. His infectious energy even at this advanced age is lauded by many, including Deol’s family friend and director Anil Sharma. He is getting the entire Deol brigade of heroes, the three generations of Deols, together for Deepak Mukut produced “Apne 2”.

The humane drama will have Dharmendra sharing screen space with his sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol yet again and his grandson Karan Deol for the first time ever. While this film is a prestigious moment that will go down in the history of the film industry, it’s also a huge celebration for the family as Dharam ji celebrates his 85th birthday today and it also marks his sixth decade as a Hindi film hero.

Filmmaker Anil Sharma who has had a long standing relationship with the veteran superstar shared a throwback picture from the sets of their previous film “Apne”. The picture has the four main men behind the super successful family drama engaged in a conversation during the shoot of the film in Punjab.

Walking down memory lane, Anil shares, “This association has always been really positive. I am fortunate to be the only the director who has worked with all the three generation of Deols. Dharam ji is a fantastic human being and the farmer who came to Bollywood still resides in him. He is a very grounded man who’s not only a great actor but one of the best humans from the industry. It is Dharam ji’s 85th birthday so I wish him all the best and hope he retains his infectious energy forever.”

Producer Deepak Mukut, who’s behind the casting coup, also says, “Working with Dharam ji is going to be an experience of a lifetime and an absolute honour for me. Apne 2 will be the first ever film which will bring all the three generation of Deols together and we are extremely excited to begin this project. Dharam ji has always been a hero who has spread smiles and on his birthday, I wish he continues to do that forever.”

“Apne 2” is presented by Soham Rockstar Entertainment, produced by Deepak Mukut and directed by Anil Sharma. The film will go on floors around March 2021 and is being planned for a big Diwali release next year.

After the cult blockbuster film “Apne”, director Anil Sharma & producer Deepak Mukut brings three generations of Deols – Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Karan Deol together for it’s sequel “Apne 2”.

Remember how the terrific Deol trio of the legendary superstar Dharmendra and his two sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol created magic on screen with Apne? Now, 14 years later, the team is up for an encore. Joining the terrific trio this time will be Sunny’s elder son Karan Deol, and that makes this project even more interesting!
