Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi pushes for the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), a cloud of controversy envelops the political landscape. Critics question the timing, speculating on the strategic advantage it may offer the government in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. However, the implications extend beyond political gains, raising concerns about the long-term consequences and financial burdens on Indian taxpayers.

“DISADVANTAGES OF CAA” EXAMPLE VIDEO

https://www.cinebuster.in/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/WhatsApp-Video-2024-03-14-at-12.28.09-AM.mp4

The CAA’s focus on granting Indian citizenship to non-Muslim migrants from neighboring countries until 2014 sparks debates about potential shifts in deadlines and the economic strain on society. With India facing high population density and increasing unemployment, importing additional individuals becomes a potential burden on various fronts, including housing, food, clothing, and employment opportunities.

While the CAA selectively includes Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis, and Christians from specific countries, it excludes Muslims, leading to accusations of ‘dirty politics’ by opposition parties. As the nation grapples with internal challenges, the argument questions the wisdom of absorbing migrants when essential demands cannot be met domestically, potentially exacerbating inflation.

The issue extends beyond economic concerns, delving into national security worries. With Pakistan historically considered an adversary, granting entry to individuals from there raises apprehensions about the safety of the nation. Fears of espionage and infiltration by individuals posing as non-Muslims add a layer of complexity, emphasizing the potential risks to the entire country’s security.

Mumbai: Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi and leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has expressed serious concerns about the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), portraying it as a potential threat to national security and the job market in India. According to Kejriwal, the BJP-led government at the Centre is unable to generate employment opportunities for Indian citizens but is willing to provide jobs to children from Pakistan through the implementation of the CAA.

Kejriwal questions the rationale behind the CAA, emphasizing that the government’s intention to grant citizenship to minorities from Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Afghanistan could have significant implications. He raises a crucial point about the lack of clarity on how employment would be provided to the refugees who might seek shelter in India due to the open-door policy outlined in the CAA.

Moreover, Kejriwal alleges that government funds could be utilized to settle Pakistani individuals in India, expressing skepticism about the motives behind such actions. He points out that in the mentioned countries, there are approximately 2.5 to 3 crore minorities, and once India opens its doors, a substantial number of people might migrate, raising questions about the employment opportunities available to these refugees.

Kejriwal’s remarks on the implementation of the CAA extend beyond economic concerns to include political considerations. He suggests that some people view the CAA as a strategic move for garnering votes, implying that it might be a part of vote bank politics rather than a well-thought-out policy with the nation’s best interests at heart.

CAA कानून पर दिल्ली के माननीय मुख्यमंत्री श्री @ArvindKejriwal जी की Important Press Conference l LIVE https://t.co/SPm9mz4YLh

Furthermore, the Delhi Chief Minister draws attention to the specific impact of the CAA on the northeastern state of Assam. He contends that the BJP’s decision to open India’s doors for residents of Pakistan and Bangladesh poses a danger to the country, especially for states like Assam. Kejriwal asserts that Assam’s cultural identity is under threat due to the influx of illegal migrants from Bangladesh, and the BJP’s willingness to grant citizenship to these migrants is viewed as a betrayal by Assam’s Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma.

In summary, Arvind Kejriwal’s statements underscore a multifaceted critique of the CAA, encompassing concerns about national security, economic repercussions, and the preservation of cultural identity, particularly in states like Assam. These remarks reflect a broader debate and ongoing discussions surrounding the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act in India.

Mumbai: The Reserve Bank of India said 2,000-rupee banknotes will be withdrawn from circulation as they constituted only 10.8 percent of notes in circulation as on March 31, 2023.

The ₹2000 denomination banknote was introduced in November_2016 under Section 24

(1) of RBI Act. 1934. primarily to meet the currency requirement of the economy in an expeditious manner after the withdrawal of legal tender status of all ₹500 and ₹1000 banknotes in circulation at that time. The objective of introducing ₹2000 banknotes was met once banknotes in other denominations became available
in adequate quantities. Therefore. printing of ₹2000 banknotes was stopped in 2018-19.

2. About 89% of the ₹2000 denomination banknotes were issued prior to March 2017 and are at the end of their estimated wfe-span of 4-5 years. The total value of these
banknotes in circulation has declined from ₹6.73 lakh crore at its peak as on March 31. 2018 (37.3%, of Notes in Circulation) to ₹3.62 lakh crore constituting only 10.8% Notes in Circulation on March 31, 2023. it has also been observed that this
denomination is not commonly used for transactions. F urther, the stock of banknotes in other denominations continues to be adequate to meet the currency requirement of
the public.

3. In view of the above, and in pursuance of the “Clean Note Policy’ of the Reserve Bank of India, it has been decided to withdraw the ₹2000 denomination banknotes from circulation.

4. The banknotes in ₹2000 denomination will continue to be legal tender.

5. It may be noted that RBI had undertaken a similar withdrawal of notes from circulation in 2013-2014.

6. Accordingly. members of the public may deposit ₹2000 banknotes into their bank accounts andlor exchange them into banknotes of other denominations at any bank
branch. Deposit into bank accounts can be made in the usual manner, that is, without restrictions and subject to extant instructions and other applicable statutory provisions.

7. In order to ensure operational convenience and to avoid disruption of regular activities of bank branches, exchange of ₹2000 banknotes into banknotes of other denominations can be made upto a lmit of ₹20.,000- at a time at any bank starting from May 23. 2023.

3. To complete the exercise in a time-bound manner and to provide adequate time to the members of public, all banks shall provide deposit andlor exchange faclity for ₹2000 banknotes until September 30, 2023. Separate guidelines have been issued
New Delhi: The government has abandoned any pretence of being democratic, has no compassion for the poor and has embarked on a “wild adventure of so-called reforms including a grand clearance sale of public sector units”, Congress president Sonia Gandhi said today in the first online meeting of opposition parties to discuss the coronavirus crisis.

“All power is now concentrated in one office, the PMO,” the Congress president said in a searing critique of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government over its Covid response.

Stating that the economy was “gravely crippled”, the Congress chief said every economist of repute had advised an immediate need for a massive fiscal stimulus but “the Prime Minister’s announcement of a grand Rs 20 lakh crore package – and the Finance Minister spelling out its details over the next five days — have turned out to be a cruel joke on the country.”

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda were among those who joined the zoom conference but prominent absentees included Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s Arvind Kejriwal.

Sonia Gandhi lashed out at the government’s virus strategy and noted that successive lockdowns had delivered diminishing returns.

“The initial optimism of the Prime Minister that the war against the virus would conclude in 21 days has turned out to be misplaced. It seems that the virus is here to stay until a vaccine is found. I am also of the view that the government was uncertain about the criteria for lockdowns, nor does it have an exit strategy,” Mrs Gandhi said.

Apart from migrant workers, she said, those who had been “cruelly ignored” include the 13 crore families in the bottom half of the population — tenant farmers and landless agricultural workers; the laid off or retrenched workers; the shopkeepers and the self-employed; MSMEs; and organized industries.

“That the present government has no solutions is worrying; but that it has no empathy or compassion for the poor and vulnerable is heartbreaking,” said Mrs Gandhi.

For Uddhav Thackeray, whose Shiv Sena was a BJP ally for 35 years but has now teamed up with the NCP and Congress to rule Maharashtra, this was the first such opposition meeting.

The post PM’s Package “Cruel Joke On Country”: Sonia Gandhi At Opposition Meet Lashed Out At The Government’s Virus Strategy first appeared on Latest News, Breaking News, National News, World News, India News, Bollywood News, Business News, Politics News, Sports News, Entertainment News - CineBuster.

New Delhi: The Delhi government led by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will be sending a proposal to the Centre on the lockdown strategy in the national capital based on over 5 lakh suggestions given by the people of Delhi. From opening up Delhi Metro to keeping schools and colleges shut, there are several suggestions that have been made.

In a media address on Thursday, CM Arvind Kejriwal said, “A meeting between Lieutenant Governor and State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) will be held at 4 pm today. The suggestions given by you all will be discussed at the meeting. To what extent should relaxations can be given in Delhi, these suggestions will be sent to central government.”

Arvind Kejriwal said as the Delhi government sought people’s opinion on the lockdown, it has received over 5 lakh suggestions so far, which are being considered for the proposal that will be sent to the Centre.

Kejriwal also said that among the suggestions, people have asked for partial reopening of Delhi Metro services and also bus services.

“We had sought suggestion from people, we have received more than 5 lakh suggestions. Based on these suggestions, we will send a proposal to the Centre. Most have suggested that schools and educational institutes should stay closed till summer vacations,” Kejriwal said.

People have also suggested that while hotels should remain closed during the lockdown, the government must open restaurants that can start takeaway services and home delivery.

“Most people also said that hotels should stay closed however restaurants should be opened for take-away and home delivery. There is almost a consensus that barber shops, spas, saloons, cinema halls and swimming pools should not open yet,” said Kejriwal.

“We have received a lot of suggestions from many market associations and most of them have said market and market complexes should be opened. They said they can be opened on odd-even basis, half shops one day and half shops another,” the chief minister said.

Many have also suggested to do away with the 7 pm to 7 am curfew on all non-essential activities.

The post Open Delhi Metro, Start Food Take-Aways: Delhi Govt To Send Lockdown Proposal Based On 5 Kakh Suggestions first appeared on Latest News, Breaking News, National News, World News, India News, Bollywood News, Business News, Politics News, Sports News, Entertainment News - CineBuster.

Geneva: The new coronavirus may never go away and populations around the world will have to learn to live with it, the World Health Organization warned Wednesday.

As some countries around the world begin gradually easing lockdown restrictions imposed in a bid to stop the novel coronavirus from spreading, the WHO said it may never be wiped out entirely.

The virus first emerged in Wuhan in China late last year and has since infected more than 4.2 million people and killed nearly 300,000 worldwide.

“We have a new virus entering the human population for the first time and therefore it is very hard to predict when we will prevail over it,” said Michael Ryan, the WHO’s emergencies director.

WHO: We should not be waiting to see if opening of lockdowns has worked by counting bodies in morgue

Dr Mike Ryan, of the World Health Organisation (WHO), tells a press conference: “We should not be waiting to see if opening of lockdowns has worked by counting bodies in morgues.

“This virus may become just another endemic virus in our communities and this virus may never go away,” he told a virtual press conference in Geneva.

“HIV has not gone away — but we have come to terms with the virus.”

More than half of humanity has been put under some form of lockdown since the coronavirus crisis began.

But the WHO warned there was no way to guarantee that easing the restrictions would not trigger a second wave of infections.

“Many countries would like to get out of the different measures,” said WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

“But our recommendation is still the alert at any country should be at the highest level possible.”

“Long Way To Go”

Ryan added that there was a “long, long way to go” on the path to returning to normal, insisting that countries would have to stay the course.

“There is some magical thinking going on that lockdowns work perfectly and that unlocking lockdowns will go great. Both are fraught with dangers,” the Irish epidemiologist said.

Ryan also condemned attacks on healthcare workers that were linked to the pandemic, saying more than 35 “quite serious” such incidents were recorded in April alone in 11 countries.

He said the attacks were often over-reactions from ill-informed communities — while others were more sinister.

“COVID-19 is bringing out the best in us, but it’s also bringing out some of the worst,” he said.

“People feel empowered to take out their frustrations on individuals who are purely trying to help.

“These are senseless acts of violence and discrimination that must be resisted.”

But he insisted that in finding a way to conquer the virus was a chance for humanity to take major step forward by finding a vaccine and making it widely accessible.

“It’s a massive opportunity for the world,” Ryan said.

The post Coronavirus “May Never Go Away,” Warns WHO first appeared on Latest News, Breaking News, National News, World News, India News, Bollywood News, Business News, Politics News, Sports News, Entertainment News - CineBuster.

New Delhi: Rahul Gandhi is calling on the government to immediately inject a sum of Rs 7,500 directly into 50 per cent of Indian households to help ease the economic pain caused by the coronavirus lockdown.

“It’s not such a big ask,” he said on Friday at an e-press conference, responding to a question by India Today TV on whether the time is ripe for a national policy on migrant labour.

The Congress leader is also advocating a slew of measures to help MSMEs, including a Rs 1 lakh crore wage protection scheme and a six-month interest subsidy.

“It is pretty clear that a lot of these companies are going to go down. If we do not do anything, a massive number of them are going to go down,” Rahul Gandhi said.

“We have to build a wall for them so they can fight what is coming,” he said. “We have to build financial support behind them.”

He advocated a comprehensive approach to restarting the economy, pointing out that there’s a link between MSMEs and big business.

“If we suddenly say only small business is going to be helped and big business is going to be left to its own devices, we’ll actually harm small businesses as well,” he said.

“If you want to start the engine, you cannot think of starting just one part of the engine.”

The post Rahul Gandhi Today On E-Press Conference: Transfer Directly Rs 7,500 To 50% Households Now first appeared on Latest News, Breaking News, National News, World News, India News, Bollywood News, Business News, Politics News, Sports News, Entertainment News - CineBuster.

New Delhi: A few days ago, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had claimed that the Aarogya Setu mobile application, designed to help users to identify whether they are at risk of the COVID-19 infection and provides people with important information, including ways to avoid coronavirus and its symptoms, is a “sophisticated surveillance system”.

Technology can help keep people safe, but fear must not be used to track citizens without their consent, the Congress chief had said.

“The Aarogya Setu app, is a sophisticated surveillance system, outsourced to a pvt operator, with no institutional oversight – raising serious data security & privacy concerns. Technology can help keep us safe; but fear must not be leveraged to track citizens without their consent,” Gandhi had tweeted.

Now, a French cybersecurity expert, who goes by the name the name Elliot Alderson borrowed from the popular TV show Mr Robot, has come out claiming that a security issue has been found in the app and added that the Congress leader was right about the app. “Hi @SetuAarogya, A security issue has been found in your app. The privacy of 90 million Indians is at stake. Can you contact me in private. Regards, PS: @RahulGandhi was right,” read the tweet.

Alderson showed how the website offering direct downloads of the app was registered by a Mostafa Anoosheh, who was linked to an app developer that had earlier created clones of the popular messaging app Telegram, which were accused of spying on their users.

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday said he had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying it was dangerous to bring back Indians stranded abroad amid the coronavirus crisis without testing them as it could help the deadly virus spread.

“The people are being brought back without testing whether they have corona virus or not. This is very dangerous. There are 200 people in a flight. If one or two have the virus – this can be very dangerous for the country,” the Chief Minister said.

“Unfortunate that internationally followed protocols are not being followed. Have written to PM that those being brought back should be tested before the travel,” he added

Hundreds of thousands of Indians stranded abroad because of the COVID-19 pandemic will be brought back by air and by sea from Thursday in the world’s largest evacuation mission.

More than 1.9 lakh Indians have requested a flight home. Those taking the special flights will be charged around Rs 50,000 from Europe and Rs 1 lakh from the US.

Naval warships will also set out for Indians stuck in West Asia and the Maldives. This is the biggest exercise since national airline Air India flew back 1,70,000 during the first Gulf War.

Kerala has been gearing up for the return of expats from abroad, especially the Gulf region, with around 3 lakh expats from 150 countries registering on the state’s Non Resident Keralites Affairs or NORKA website till the end of last month.

Most of expats are expected to return to Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Thrissur districts of Kerala.

Pinarayi Vijayan had said that doctors and paramedical staff will be posted at the airport for detailed checking of the passengers arriving.

They will then be subject to mandatory quarantines at home and if they have symptoms, the will be quarantined to government facilities directly from the airport.

Kerala reported India’s first coronavirus case but with a widely-praised handling of the crisis, the state currently has only 37 active patients who are being treated in hospitals. More than 460 people have been released after recovering from the disease.

The post Kerala Chief Minister Writes To PM Modi: “Dangerous To Fly Back Indians Without Tests” first appeared on Latest News, Breaking News, National News, World News, India News, Bollywood News, Business News, Politics News, Sports News, Entertainment News - CineBuster.

Noida: DCP exposes fake news by agency
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, May 5, said that some people were spreading “deadly viruses” such as terrorism, fake news, and doctored videos in order to divide communities and countries. During his first address to the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) summit since assuming office in 2014, PM Modi said,” While the world fights COVID, some people are spreading deadly viruses such as terrorism, fake news & doctored videos to divide communities and countries. But let’s focus on positives. What we can do together to help the world fight this health crisis.”

PM Modi said the Non Aligned Movement can help promote global solidarity and it must remain inclusive.

He said humanity is facing a major crisis in the wake of the novel coronavirus pandemic and NAM can contribute to deal with it.

The Prime Minister also said that the world needs a new template of globalisation post-COVID-19 based on fairness, equality and humanity.

Without naming Pak, PM Modi also slammed the country whose president Arif Alvi had earlier used the NAM platform to accuse India of inciting hate speeches against the country’s Muslims.

Modi asked NAM countries to stand together to ensure that the international community and the WHO focus on building health capacities in developing countries. The prime minister’s remarks have come at a time when fake news and videos are being spread on social media to spread communal hatred. However, some of Prime Minister Modi’s own party leaders have often been accused of spreading fake news. Recently, a prominent BJP leader and spokesperson Sambit Patra had tweeted a video claiming that a Muslim vegetable vendor in UP’s Bijnor was spraying urine on vegetables.

— Sambit Patra (@sambitswaraj) April 22, 2020

Bijnor SP busts Sambit Patra’s fake video

The video turned out to be fake and Bijnor SP LN Mishra said that the man had urinated and then washed his hands from a bottle of water. He drunk from the same bottle used to wash hands and also sprinkled water on vegetables.

This was just one example and many leaders from ruling BJP are often caught sharing fake news on social media. Anima Sonkar, Delhi state joint secretary of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party’s student wing ABVP shared fake news that Indian multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology company Cipla has been charging Rs 120 for a 100 ml bottle of hand sanitiser, which was earlier priced at just Rs 50. She apparently tried to give it a communal angle as well and dragged the name of the company’s founder Yusuf Khawaja Hamied and called him a “crook”. Later, the company debunked her claim and she reportedly deleted her tweet.

The Opposition Congress party has also accused the BJP of spreading the “virus of communal hatred” in the times of coronavirus pandemic. Recently, Congress leader Sonia Gandhi said that the BJP has done great damage to the social harmony of the country and that it will take a lot of hard work to repair that.

Doctored, old videos being used to flare communal wage

Since the pandemic, several Bijnor type videos showing Muslim fruits and vegetable vendors have been shared with the narrative that the minority community is deliberately spreading the coronavirus. Recently, an Uttar Pradesh BJP MLA was caught on tape asking people no to buy vegetables and fruits from Muslim vendors.

The issue also reached Arab countries and Princess Hend Al Qassimi, a member of the royal family of the United Arab Emirates had also flagged the issue. The UAE princess urged the prime minister to take action to end communal hatred.

“I refuse to be quiet in the midst of this war. The oppression against the Muslims, Christians and other minorities in India must stop. I am surprised it was allowed to start and thrive openly like this and I hope it will be halted,” one of her tweets read.

The post PM Modi Says “Some People” Spreading Fake News, Videos To Spread Communal Hatred At NAM Summit first appeared on Latest News, Breaking News, National News, World News, India News, Bollywood News, Business News, Politics News, Sports News, Entertainment News - CineBuster.
