Rupali Ganguly Believes That Seniors Need ‘Love, Respect & Patience’!

Rajan Shahi and Deepa Shahi’s Anupama continues to introduce compelling and inspiring socially relevant tracks while keeping the entertainment quotient high. In the ongoing sequence, the audience gets to see that Hansmukh, played by #ArvindVaidya, is called for help by a friend who tells him and Anupama, played by Rupali Ganguly, that his son and daughter-in-law are ill-treating him and his wife. The track sheds light on how the seniors are being treated as servants in their own house and made to do household chores while struggling to eat even one proper meal.

Speaking in reference to the ongoing track, Rupali reflects on her special bond with the elderly, whom she fondly calls the “older babies.” She said, “They obviously have seen life much more than me. There was a time when I was in college, and I used to go and volunteer in old people’s homes.”

She even recalled making a documentary on an old-age home and shared, “There was one at Andheri East, and I had made a documentary a long time ago on these people whose children have left them in their golden years. So they were heart-wrenching, heartbreaking stories. I think they are the babies who need a lot of attention and a lot of care.”

And though she mentioned that they should be treated like babies, she stressed that they should be respected too. She said, “There has to be respect, like ‘Oh, you’re my mom, okay, you know better,’ ‘Oh, you’ve seen the world more than me. So I’m still a child in front of you.’ So you cannot even fool them because they catch it very fast. I have seen it with my dad. All they need is our time, and they want to talk about what they’ve done in their lives, their struggles.”

“My father slept on the footpath, sharing the room with 4-5 people from Agri Pahada, to become something in life. That is a whole life of experience. My father-in-law, he fought the Second World War as a foot soldier. He used to show all his bullet marks and tell us stories of literally waiting for death right in front of him,” she added.

Rupali believes they have so many life experiences to share and said, “All you have to do is have patience and have a listening ear.” And the biggest key for us is to have lots of patience, and you will get unimaginable love in return. Like there are times when you take your mother for granted, so there are times when I would get irritated with my mom. Even my husband, Ashwin, would at times get irritated with his mom, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t love her or respect her. His mother was his world.”

“And for my son, Rudransh, I always wanted him to grow up with his grandparents because the kind of upbringing they can give, even we can’t. Even sometimes I tell my mother, ‘Yaar mumma, I’ll call you back,’ and then I check myself and tell her, ‘Mumma, you tell me, it’s okay, the shoot will wait,’ and I will speak to Mumma,” she added.

She explained that with their growing age, you never know which moment with them is their last. She added, “So every moment with them, with the golden seniors, you need to cherish, because they have their life lessons to tell us, which we will carry forward; that is the legacy that we will pass on to our children.”

Rupali even shared the jingle she had written for her parents that went like “Tu ne hi sikhaya chalna, jeevan mein girke sambhalna, tera pyaar bhara wo saya, mujhe door bahut yaad aaya, tu chhaya hai, main darpan, tujhko ye jeevan Arpan, tum se mila hai ye jahan, hum hai teri parchahiya.”

She believes no matter how much one does for their parents, it will still be less. She said, “You get so many blessings from them. If there is pure, unconditional love, then it is your parents. There is no greater God in this world than them. Truly, heaven lies at the feet of your parents.”

She further shared her visit to the Gauri Gopal Ashram, where she met a lot of women who were abandoned by their children. She said, “It was heartbreaking to see that their children have abandoned them. The mother who raised you from childhood, the mother who lets you eat her share of bread—you cannot keep that mother with you, because you have a new family; you abandon your mother.”

“There cannot be a greater sin in the world than not asking for your parents, who do not care for their children,” she added.

She feels blessed that her mother and mother-in-law are still there with her. Her mother’s video dancing to Shararat, along with her brother Vijay Ganguly, has gone viral. She said, “We feel so proud because my mother, she loves dancing, and earlier she wouldn’t like to come out, but now Mummy gets more invitations to parties from young people than me, even more than Vijay.”

“Farah Khan is coming to shoot with us, and she wants to shoot with Mummy, so nowadays I get calls, and I have to give Mummy’s number to people. She is having the time of her life; she refuses to leave Pappa’s house and come and stay with us, and she is dancing her heart out. Thu thu thu, hope no one casts an evil eye on my mother; tomorrow I will remove all the evil eyes from her. “I think I have become her mother, and she has become our child,” she added.

While concluding, she shared a dream of hers and hopes that through Anupama it comes true. “I would like to build an animal shelter that would be taken care of by these golden seniors, whose families have abandoned them. I would like to have old people taking care of fur babies, and we live in a very happy community—that is a dream. I had so many dreams that Anupama has fulfilled hopefully, and hopefully I will be able to do this too through Anupamaa. I want to thank Rajan ji for this,” Rupali ended.

Vanraj informs Anupamaa that he has received a divorce reminder letter from the lawyer’s office!

After venting it all out in an intoxicated state, Anupamaa of Rajan Shahi’s show of the same name is finally awake. She took everyone’s class in that condition, and while she called Vanraj as “Muchchar Shah”, she referred to Rakhi Dave as “Tikhi Mirchi”. Later Vanraj tried to help her with her hangover and also joked that she will slowly remember everything that she blurted out on Holi.

Once Anupamaa feels better Vanraj informs her that he has received a divorce reminder letter from the lawyer’s office. Both of them say that they feel broken from within after hearing the news, but agree on not sharing it with anyone in the family. They just have three days left before the divorce is finalised and plan on taking the whole family on a picnic.

The Shah family is quite excited about it, but Baa and Pakhi team up to send Vanraj and Anupamaa alone. They feel that if they spend some time with each other, they might realise each other’s worth in their lives and step back from taking the divorce.

Vanraj asks Anupamaa for forgiveness!

The on-screen couple, Vanraj and Anupamaa, of Rajan Shahi’s “Anupamaa” are headed towards divorce. The counsellor gave them a period of six months post which their divorce will be finalised or if they want they can rethink their decision too.

Once they stepped out of the court, Vanraj apologised to Anupamaa for hurting her. He said, “From starting a relationship with Kavya, to calling you mentally unstable, I am sorry for everything.” He asked her if she will be able to forgive him, to which Anupamaa said she will forgive him once he sets her free from this relationship. He also tells her that when he was with her, he had everything, but since they parted ways, he has lost everything. Anupamaa replied that she only hopes good things for him and wishes that he and Kavya have a happy life together.

Later, we see that Kavya asks Vanraj to celebrate this occasion, while in the Shah house Anupamaa informs everyone about the divorce proceedings and Baa breaks down hearing this.

The next morning, Baa is making laddoos and is very excited that it will be her son’s birthday the next day. Meanwhile, Kavya asks Vanraj to speak to Pakhi and ask her to stay with Anupamaa for a few days so that they can celebrate his birthday alone. Though Vanraj tells her that he has always celebrated it at home, Kavya won’t take no for an answer.

In the upcoming episode, we will see that Kavya tells Vanraj that her birthday was ruined because of Rakhi and she wants to celebrate his birthday alone. Pakhi overhears this conversation and leaves from there. At night, Baa calls Vanraj to wish him, but Anupamaa is surprised to not hear Pakhi’s voice in the background. Where did Pakhi go? ‘Happy days are here again’ for Anupamaa

After facing multiple setbacks, Anupamaa seems to be in a ‘happy days are here again’ phase. After a very long time, things are looking good for Anupamaa. After the shock that Rakhi gave her, she was a little upset about how things will be going forward. Even Vanraj did not miss out on the opportunity of insulting and taunting her.

Rakhi had just put up an act to convince Kinjal that she is ok with her marriage with Paritosh, but when she was alone with Anupamaa she told her that she will brainwash Kinjal in a way that she will leave the Shah home and will come back to her. But Anupamaa gave her a befitting reply and said that while Rakhi will try to break the relationship, she will try to win her over. Once they returned home, Vanraj sensed that there is something wrong with Anupamaa, and when he asked her, she did not lie about it.

Vanraj thought of it as a good opportunity to demean Anupamaa, and he told everyone that since Rakhi is asking Paritosh and Kinjal to get married again, he will deal with it because he is the only earning member in the family. But he is about to get a big shock.

In the upcoming episode the audience will get to see that Anupamaa will get her job back at the school. Anupamaa is over the moon for this, but Vanraj is in a lot of trouble. He has to compensate the company for all the clients that he lost in the past three months. He is on the verge of bankruptcy and will even lose his job.

What will Vanraj do now? He is worried that Anupamaa is taking small steps towards her success, while he is lagging behind. How will Kavya deal with an unemployed Vanraj? Two brides, one groom and four prying eyes on Vanraj, what will happen on D-Day?

The D-Day in Rajan Shahi’s “Anupamaa” is close. Both the brides – Anupamaa and Kavya – are excited about their wedding to the man of their dreams, Vanraj. And looking at the recent episodes it can be easily said that it’s not going to be easy for either of them.

But Vanraj has four eyes prying at him at all times. Anupamaa’s friend Devika had warned Vanraj for his behaviour towards Anupamaa, so he is being extra sweet with his wife. Nandini, who got to know about his affair with Kavya and also their plans of getting married. Sanjay, who is aware of his extramarital affair with Kavya but kept quiet for Anupamaa’s happiness. And Paritosh, who now knows about his affair with Kavya and even confronted for the same, during this time she confessed that they are indeed having an affair and are going to tie the knot on his parents’ 25 wedding anniversary on October 19.

Though Vanraj was able to convince Paritosh that he broke up with Kavya long back and there is no truth about him marrying her, Paritosh still feels that what he did was not right, however, he promises not to share this with his mom as it would break her heart. Vanraj is a little relieved, but that doesn’t mean his problems have ended.

His mother tells him that he can’t step outside the house and the wedding ceremony will begin at 8:30. And Kavya tells him that he needs to reach the temple at 8 for their wedding. Vanraj was able to convince Anupamaa that he needs to go to his office but promises that he will be back by 9.

What happens next is a mystery that the makers have not revealed yet. Will he reach the temple on time? Will he get married to Kavya? Or will someone stop him before he does something silly? Or the promo where Anupamaa find him and Kavya kissing will come true? Well, we need to wait till October 19 for the big revelation, but till then don’t forget to watch the twists and drama leading to the big day.
