Avika, too, loved working with Ronak, and says that they share a special bond. “I have worked with Ronak in #Bro before this. I had my first onscreen kiss in that film and I still remember, he made me so comfortable. He is such a nice person. When I was told that we are doing Popcorn, like when the pre-production was happening, I suggested his name. I wanted someone in my production to be tantrum-less, hardworking, talented and comfortable with me. It was the best decision. The character needed someone to be good looking and charming. He has done an amazing job. He is a great dancer,” she says.

She adds, “We share a great amount of screen chemistry. We are very good friends. If this works out for him and things go well, we will go to more movies together. We love working together. We inspire each other. I inspire him with my punctuality and he inspires with his love for learning new things, the effort he puts in learning new things is incredible.”

Singer #EshaGaur is all set to make her Bollywood debut with #VikramBhatt’s 1920, which stars actress #AvikaGor. She adds that it was her mother who discovered her singing talent when she was young and credits her mother for the way her career has shaped up.

“1920 is my biggest work achievement till date. My work partner gave me this chance to sing this scratch and hence by God’s grace, it got approved. I am from a doctor-family; my father, brother and grandfather are doctors. My mother had inclination towards singing and she figured out the singer in me when I was four-years-old because of her my music journey came out so well. I have done Masters in Music,” says Esha, who is known for singing the title track for Ek Aastha Aisi Bhi on Star Plus, Guddan Tumse Na Ho Payega song Lakeerien, Belan Wali Bahu, Rangrezz from Apna time bhi aayega, Namah songs, Amma Ke Babu Ki Baby songs among others.”

Talking about her first break, she says, “My first break as singer was not with a song. I have performed in Sangam Kala group in 1994, where I won the 1st prize, all over India. Kalyanji Anandji called me and that was my biggest achievement in my singing career.”

Ask her who is her favourite singer, and she says, “Asha Bhonsle she is so versatile which is what I like the most. Also, I think everybody should choose to be low profile as it’s the best thing you could gift yourself. In life, if you are low profile, simple with not too much show biz, life is always happy and cheerful.”

Talking about future plans, she says, “To work more and more…I want to work in Bollywood, in sufi, thumri, ghazals, and be on stage. Music has really changed in the recent times. Now it’s more of entertainment. Though lot of good music is being created and experimented.”

#AvikaGor is on cloud nine as Nagarjuna graces the launch of her debut production, #Popcorn. She gushed saying, “His present was the biggest gift… he has been my inspiration”.

Avika Gor made her Telugu film debut with Uyyala Jampala in 2013. The movie was produced by veteran actor Nagarjuna. Happy to associate with him at the beginning of her career, Avika shares that it helped her learn a lot and get a foothold in the industry.

“I have known him since then, and it has been an amazing journey, connection and bond that we share. He has been great and I’m very happy to be associated with him for so many years. It’s definitely like a blessing when somebody that senior and experienced is trying to support your growth. It’s beautiful,” she says.

Nagarjuna was also present at the trailer launch of Avika’s first production, Popcorn. “His presence was the biggest gift that he could have ever given to me. It was this one line that I told him that ‘I want you to be there and it’s my first production’ and even before I could talk about the movie or give more details he just said ‘okay I will be there, anything for you’. I think that will stay with me forever. I used to think that he’s one of the kindest souls now I have believed it and have seen it. I’m absolutely in awe of the person he is and the kindness he shows. So it was an amazing experience. We spoke about the movie’s production and concept. He loved the title too. Good reviews from him meant a lot,” she adds.

The actors keep meeting each other quite a few times. “He hosts Big Boss Telugu and I always go there for Diwali Performances. I usually make appearances for the events on the TV channel he has. So we keep meeting and have been extremely fond of each other. So anywhere we know, we’re shooting, we just go and meet each other. The bond we share is sweet,” she says.

Being a huge fan of the actor, Avika has seen a lot of his films. When asked about her favourite Nagarjuna film, the actor replied that it’s difficult for her to choose one.

“I honestly cannot choose one. There are so many of his films that I love. He is such a beautiful actor. The recent one that people have been talking about is Brahmastra and I really wish and hope that we see more of him in the upcoming version and sequels of Brahmastra. I loved his character in the film and I love him. He is a living legend and a lot of people get inspired from somebody like him. I absolutely consider him one of those people who inspired me to do more and motivated me to follow my heart. Because he has always been very nice and kind to me, he knows a lot about what’s happening in my life or career. So he keeps listening to me and always gets excited when I get excited. I love that,” smiles the Ballika Vadhu actor.

The best thing about Nagarjuna, according to Avika, is that he is extremely grounded, he is living in gratitude every moment of his life.

“He is always respectful towards others and a very humble person. There are so many qualities of him that I would want to imbibe in my life. I look forward to meeting him more, getting to know him, and learning from him. He always makes me feel very special and also makes me realise how important it is to live with gratitude. He always makes me feel like an important person in the room and that’s rare. He makes other people feel superior and comfortable. The kind of support people like him show, the kind of blessing they give us is unconditional and beautiful. His kindness is something which will remain with me in my heart forever,” she adds.

As entertaining as the film looks, the actors had a challenge while shooting in Varanasi. Enlightening on it, Manish said, “The weather was too hot, and we had to shoot continuously in the scorching sun. Pratik and I shot full-time on the sets. While it was a challenge, we enjoyed each other’s company till the last day of the shoot. I cannot wait for the audience to see the film and listen to the upbeat music given by Meet Bros and Anup Bhat.”

The hilarious comedy revolves around the shopkeeper who sells condoms with the name rubberband. This social piece under the garb of a hilarious masala entertainer promises to educate the audience as well. Talking about this upcoming laugh riot, debutant director Sarika Sanjot says, “I am so excited to bring this story to the audience. The film addresses such an important topic in a way that makes the entire idea of “condoms” acceptable in Indian society.”

She further adds, “Unfortunately, we, as a society, treat the very thing we need most as taboo. The idea behind making this film is to make condoms a household name. I want the youngsters to be comfortable heading into a medical store and asking for condoms. There’s nothing to be ashamed of, in fact, it’s the most responsible thing to do! I want to strip the shame off from condoms and probably by renaming it as rubber band through this comical adaptation of the subject might just normalise the whole experience of purchasing condoms for the youth of our country!”

Talking about the cast of the film, Sarika says, “I am so impressed with the performances of each and everyone involved in this film. I couldn’t have asked for a better star cast. Right from Avika to Manish, Pratik to Aruna ji, Paintal to Gaurav Gera and all others, everyone has essayed their parts well.”

Kahani Rubberband Ki is produced under the banner Moon House Productions. Meet Bros has composed the music for the film, while Faroukh Mistry handled the cinematography. The beautiful voices of well-known artists Kunal Ganjawala, Hargun Kaur, and Geet Sagar can be heard on the moving song tracks in the film. The movie is slated to release on the 14th of October. “My experience was simply amazing here. Everybody there was absolutely warm and loving. All my fans, everybody, were just so overwhelmed and I was very happy to see that. People literally had tears in their eyes just looking at me. I’m very happy that I was invited to be a part of this festival. While there, I also visited Nha Trang and Ho Chi Minh city and I’m very happy that the response from both the cities was amazing and the festival did so well,” she adds.

Sharing more about what happened, she says, “We did have a few interactions with the fans, some proper events where there were a lot of dance performances by many Bollywood and Vietnamese dancers. There were other cultural events and I was also invited on stage to talk about Bollywood, Indian Cinema and Television. It was a very proud moment to represent Indian Cinema there. The whole event was about Vietnam and India friendship and I’m so happy to be a part of the Namaste Vietnam Festival because it’s all about collaboration and we are talking about how beautiful collaboration has always been. We have completed 50 years of friendship between Vietnam and India this year. So it was a great opportunity to be here during Independence Day and it was nice that they also celebrated the Indian flag hoisting a day before I reached there.”

The response has been beautiful, shares the actor. “People were overwhelmed to see me here and I feel blessed to have got this opportunity. The weather and nature here is very similar to Bombay and I did not miss home at all because my father was also there with me. And I got to go a lot around the city and walked around a bit and ate a lot of Vietnamese food. I’ve been doing all of those Vietnamese things and enjoyed my stay. It was really beautiful there,” she ends with a smile.

Avika Gor will soon be seen on the big screen as she is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Vikram Bhatt’s “1920-Horrors of the Heart”. The young actress has been a part of the industry for over 14 years now and believes an actor should maintain his visibility, be it on-screen or off-screen.

“It is important to be visible. And that is one of the reasons I never took any breaks. I never thought like other child actors that I would take a break during my teenage years and then make a comeback. I really believe that visibility is something that has got me here and I believe that the love that I have received from my audience has been there because I was pretty much seen almost every day on their TV screens for so many years. So I think that it’s important,” she said.

“Actually, there are two sides to it. There are people who actually believe in the negative publicity as well just to be visible. I don’t see myself there. But I also see myself just being approachable, just being available for my fans and I think that kind of visibility is helping me till now,” she added.

She further added, “I think I’m already at that stage where nothing really affects me too much and I think for me being happy is equal to being successful. Obviously, there are benchmarks that I’ve set for myself and I cannot or cannot really imagine not doing those things.”

What is your success mantra? “My Success mantra has always been that at the end of the day, I need to be happy with myself. I need to be satisfied with the effort that I put in my day. And I think I do my best every day. I try and there are obviously days when I’m feeling unsuccessful when I feel that it’s not working out, but then I try to motivate myself, inspire myself by doing things or reading messages by my fans and it keeps me grounded and happy. And I think that works for me” Avika concluded.
