Ayan says, “It is a huge responsibility to take forward a hugely loved franchise like War and leave your own mark on it. I saw directing War 2 as a relishing opportunity to give a hat-tip to the first film. You can’t have fun otherwise while coming on board such a huge blockbuster franchise. One has to take what has been set and then make the fans of the film and the fans of these gigantic superstars of our country go on a journey that is new, that hopefully leaves them hungry for more. As a director, I have to be honest, I immersed myself into delivering this feeling.”

He adds, “Everything about War 2 has been crafted with a lot of planning to elevate the theatrical experience of the audience. The maximum time spent was on the action set pieces and crafting the storyline and the conflict which was needed to mount the face off between Hrithik Roshan and NTR.”

Ayan calls War 2 a film that celebrates the might of Indian cinema as it brings Hrithik and NTR together for a jaw-dropping, adrenaline pumping theatrical experience like no other.

The director says, “War 2 is truly the coming together of Indian cinema with these two huge actors joining forces. We were aware of the expectations this pairing would set in the minds of their fans and the audience and every second was spent thinking of how to give them an experience of a lifetime when they sit in the theatres.”

The post ‘War 2’ director Ayan Mukerji says, “I wanted story to be big enough to pit Hrithik Roshan against NTR”! first appeared on Latest News, Breaking News, National News, World News, India News, Bollywood News, Business News, Politics News, Sports News, Entertainment News - CineBuster.

His suave look and effortless style caused an internet meltdown as soon as the War 2 teaser was released by Yash Raj Films. The costume designer of War 2, Anaita Shroff Adajania, reveals the film will push Hrithik’s magnetic presence ever further with the way his character has been styled in #War2.

Anaita says, “I’ve been incredibly fortunate to work with Hrithik over the years — on Dhoom 2, Bang Bang, countless appearances and ads—and then came War. Each project brought something new, but with War, we made a conscious decision to shift gears. We moved away from the grunge aesthetic and instead created a cleaner, sleeker look for him. It still had an edge—somewhere between real and godlike. And yes, kind of like a a super hero in plainclothes! His look determined, yet casual.”

She adds, “For War 2, it felt essential to explore a deeper, darker mood in Kabir. This version of him is layered—not just emotionally, but visually too. Thinner fabrics, pieces that feel a little more lived-in, slightly unkempt even… and there’s more! But of course, Kabir is still Kabir — his sharpness always cuts through.”

Anaita further says, “We built on what worked in War 1: that transformative haircut, Hrithik’s magnetic presence, and then we just pushed it further. I think that combination—the looks, the attitude, the restraint—is what truly created this Kabir for War 2.”

Produced by Aditya Chopra and directed by #AyanMukerji, War 2 pits NTR, regarded as the Man of the Masses, against Hrithik Roshan. #KiaraAdvani plays the female lead. War 2 is set to release on August 14th worldwide in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

_EXCITING TIMES _

_With the Release of our Movie’s Teaser a few days ago, and 12 weeks to go before our Big Beautiful Movie hits Theatres, feels like the right time for me to share some thoughts…_

_While our movie has so much to offer our audiences with its big-screen spectacle energy, today I want to draw attention to what inspires Me most about War 2…_

_That the Core of this movie is a very powerful and dramatic Story – which really surprised me the first time I heard its script, and has been extremely exciting (and challenging) for me to bring to life!_

_And so, as we receive all this love and conversation for our first look of the film, I am longing for everyone to experience the actual journey of this movie’s story – which I believe to be, a new and deeper dive into the spy universe genre!_

_But since this is not the time to give it all away and since this is actually the first time I’m saying anything officially about directing War 2, I just want to put out some love for the amazing team I have had the privilege of collaborating with on this movie_

_With a special mention here to my lovely Kiara who is a ray of sunshine in the movie and a dear friend in my life today…_

_But especially – the 3 Key Forces who set the foundation for me to build this ambitious movie on!_

_The Absolutely Amazing Leadership of Mr Aditya Chopra – from whom I have learnt so much over the last two years – And who gave me this incredible opportunity to collaborate with the once-in-a-lifetime duo of – Mr. Hrithik Roshan and NTR !_

_I cannot wait for our audiences to experience the magical work that these two Giants have created in War 2 … not just with their mega movie-star energy but with the drama and depth that they have brought to their characters!_

_So much more to share in the days to come, but for now, just putting out a whole lot of Gratitude for our Teaser Drop… and sharing a whole lot of Excited Energy for our audiences to discover so much War 2 Magic in the days ahead !_

It is a very precious and a rare feeling and I’m really lucky to be receiving the same for War 2. This YRF Spy Universe film presents me in an all new avatar which I had a lot of fun portraying and I’m overwhelmed with the positivity and the love coming in from every quarter of the country.”

Kiara lit up the screen as she sashayed down a pool wearing a neon lime green bikini flaunting her perfect body that created frenzy among netizens.

India’s top fashion stylist, #AnaitaShroffAdajania, has created Kiara’s look in War 2 and she says, “This was my first time styling Kiara for a film, and the brief was hot. I’ve styled swimsuits for many films before, and I’ve always approached them with a more casual mindset. To me, the real vibe I wanted for her was how we are as women on a beach—happy, relaxed, totally ourselves in a bikini, without overthinking how small or big it is. That kind of ease is beautiful.”

She adds, “Even while we were shooting the scene, I kept telling her to just own it—to be in her own space, doing her own thing, not performing some version of ‘I’m in a swimsuit so I have to be sexy now’. I really believe it’s so much cooler—and far more sensual—when you’re just you.”

Anaita reveals there will be more to see and discover about Kiara’s bikini look in the film. She says, “For Kiara, I wanted to go with an unusual color—something unexpected. It’s a shade that’s hard to pin down… not quite green, not quite yellow. It sits somewhere in between—a tantalizing, almost indescribable mix that immediately draws you in.”

She adds, “The bikini itself is really simple in cut, but when you see it from the front, there’s a little surprise. For the first time, we’ve introduced bikini charms—a beautiful cluster that hangs at the center. I love how it adds just the right amount of fun and mystery to the look.”

Anaita further says, “Oh, and how could I possibly forget the metallic sheen? It’s honestly everything. There’s something about that shimmer—it instantly takes me back to the unapologetic glamour of the disco era. But at the same time, it feels fresh, sharp, and unmistakably Gen Z. It’s bold, it’s playful, and it knows exactly what it’s doing.”

Anaita says it is Kiara who makes the bikini look so hot. She says, _“Kiara really put in the work to give us exactly the look we were going for. I wanted her to feel so at ease that she didn’t have to think about which way she was turning or what she was doing—just totally free in her body. And wow, did she deliver! That incredible body? All her. I just had the absolute pleasure of showing it off.”_
