Azaan Sami Khan and Mahira Khan’s ‘Tu’ is every fanboy’s dream!

#AzaanSamiKhan has released the music video for ‘#Tu’, the second single from his debut album titled #MainTera. This time around, the singer has teamed up with actress Mahira Khan to star as his co-star, as teased by Azaan earlier this month.

The music video, which was released on the first day of Eid-ul-Fitr, has Mahira playing Azaan’s love interest and the sole subject of all his daydreams. From imagining your lover being part of all day-to-day activities, to the thought of them fully consuming you and you being unable to do much about it, the video shows all the stages of a somewhat consuming relationship with its own quirky spin and loads of special effects to make it stand out.

Directed by Hassan Dawar, the video features visual effects by The KROOT, an animation studio that has previously worked with international artists like Billie Eilish, Coldplay, and Travis Scott. On choosing Mahira Khan for the music video, Azaan shared: “We wanted it to be every fanboy’s dream. So, we thought about who that ultimate woman in the subcontinent is, one who everyone has crushed on at some point in their lives. And that’s when Mahira ma’am came to mind. She liked the song, and was kind enough to star in it.”

For the song as a whole, Azaan drew inspiration from Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean. “I remember when I used to listen to Billie Jean, it was the global dance track enjoyed by everyone. When I grew a bit older, I actually heard it again with the lyrics, and I realised how painfully sad and solemn the song is. Whenever we do dance tracks for films, they are mostly very upbeat and happy songs, sometimes very frivolous on a certain level, with hardly any depth to them. So, with TU, I thought of writing a serious song, with a beat to it,” he said.

Produced by Meghdeep Bose, ‘Tu’ comes as the follow-up single to Azaan’s debut track, Main Tera, which was released earlier this year and has crossed 5 million views on YouTube. The singles are a part of Azaan’s debut album Main Tera, which includes the tracks Maahiya, Dholna, Mein Tera, Jaadugari, Aashiqui, Ik Lamha, Meri Sajna Re feat. Ustaad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Zama, and Tu, along with a Bonus side having live versions and a remix.

‘Superstar’ star Mahira Khan to feature in Azaan Sami Khan’s n ew music video ‘TU’!

After making waves with his first single Main Tera, music composer and singer #AzaanSamiKhan is all set to release his new single, titled Tu, this Eid-ul-Fitr. Given that we are just a few days away from the release, the singer teased us with the official teaser, which revealed a star-studded cameo by Mahira Khan.

Giving off total movie trailer vibes, the brief teaser clip doesn’t give anything away about the music, but shows plenty of shots brimming with special effects and animation. It also hints at tons of chemistry between the leading couple, and shows us a quirky side of Azaan, leaving us wondering about what all the full video will have to offer.

This would be the first time for the two to be sharing on-screen space. Azaan previously worked with Mahira Khan in the film Superstar, for which he wrote the screenplay and composed the music.

Earlier this year, Azaan announced his debut album, consisting of 9 new songs, namely Maahiya, Dholna, Mein Tera, Jaadugari, Aashiqui, Ik Lamha, Meri Sajna Re feat. Ustaad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Zama, and Tu, along with a Bonus side having live versions and a remix. His song Main Tera has now crossed 5 million views on YouTube.

Musician Adnan Sami’s son, Azaan Sami Khan’s debut solo album ‘Main Tera’!

After years of experimenting with music that defines him best, Azaan Sami Khan has just unveiled his debut solo album. The Parey Hut Love composer, who usually steers clear of social media, took to his Instagram to reveal the album cover, along with an exciting tracklist and the release date of his first single. Titled ‘Main Tera’, the album is a step in another direction for the musician who is known for producing some of the major OSTs.

The title track of the album which serves as the first single is all set to release on February 10th, 2021. While Khan’s own voice and song-writing skills will be at the helm for the very first time, the album overall is a cohesive effort.

“I wanted to do my own album for many years, and have managed to infuse a lot of personal elements in it. It has come from a lot of places, and has everything that I have personally composed. Having said that, I’ve had the fortune of working with tremendous music producers. I was very lucky that my work in films allowed me to build a very strong team,” he said, hinting at some interesting collaborations.

Speaking of which, the 9-song tracklist also reveals a collaboration with the legendary maestro Ustaad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, for starters. The full tracklist includes songs titled Maahiya, Dholna, Mein Tera, Jaadugari, Aashiqui, Ik Lamha, Meri Sajna Re feat. Ustaad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Zama, and Tu. In addition, there’s a Bonus side revealing versions of the songs performed at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London and something interesting to see, a “Karachi Mix” of the song Jaadugari.

Being a part of the industry since a young age surely has its pros and cons, but Khan knows where his priorities lie. “For me, the fans and the listeners are the most important. So far, they have given me so much love for my compositions in films, so it is equally important for them to know that I haven’t compromised anything when it came to sharing my own album with them. The idea is to give them the absolute best experience that I can,” he said.

The release date of the album is yet to be announced, but we’re keeping our eyes peeled for what the single has in store for us.
