Sharing memories from her childhood, Bharti said that in her hometown, people would openly call a person “mota” if they were overweight and “kala” if they were dark-skinned, without considering the emotional impact of such words. She admitted that even her mother would often tell her, “Bas kar, kitna khayegi, moti ho jayegi,” as a casual remark while growing up.
Bharti explained that for a long time, she did not realise how deeply such comments could affect a person’s confidence and self-worth. As she entered the entertainment industry and became known for her comic timing, she noticed that jokes around body image were often used for laughs. However, with time and maturity, she consciously decided that she did not want to use such words to mock others.

Bharti revealed that this realisation changed her perspective completely. Instead of making fun of someone else’s appearance, she began turning the humour towards herself, ensuring that her comedy did not hurt another person’s emotions. The second season of the Indian cooking-based show, the Laughter Chefs could be watched on Colors from January 25.

The show features celebrities cooking different dishes that are based on the criteria set by celebrity chef Harpal Singh Sokhi. The dishes are later judged by celebrity Chef Harpal Singh Sokhi alongside comedian #BhartiSingh.

Chef Harpal believes that the show was a differentiator in the entertainment industry genre because it was genuine, unscripted, and gave freedom to the actors.

“I think we are all very happy that a show was created that acted as the differentiator and hence loved by people. This show has genuinity. This is what makes people happy. If a food is bad, then it is bad and good, if it is good. People ask us if the show is scripted. Maybe a small part is but the maximum part is unscripted. We do whatever we like. We are free people and we are free to do everything. It resulted in the success of the show.”

Actress #KashmeraShah, who has been part of the show since season one with her husband #Krushna Abhishek, also opened up on her thoughts and said she is happy with the success of Laughter Chefs.

“We are very excited with the second season. When a season goes well then it helps in the livelihood of many people. We get blessings. We became therapists for them. People love the show. They are laughing and it’s such a good thing,” she said.

“Nothing is scripted and everything is impromptu that’s why you see fumbling and overlapping in the show,” said Kashmera Shah.

The first season of Laughter Chefs starred Kashmera Shah, Krishna Abhishek, #AlyGoni, #RahulVaidya, #AnkitaLokhande, #VickyJain, #ArjunBijlani, #KaranKundra, #SudeshLehri and #NiaSharma among others.

The second season will mark the entry of new celebrities which includes #ManaraChopra, #SamarthJurel, #AbhishekKumar, #RubinaDilaik, #AbduRozik and #ElvishYadav.

“Yes, 101 celebrities came to our new Indian Game show. I really didn’t know that this is a record number, but yes I haven’t heard about 101 celebrities coming to any other show. So it’s a big achievement for me and Haarsh (Limbachiyaa; writer, host and Bharti’s husband),” she says.

In this show a lot of people participated from the TV and music industries. What is your message to Haarsh and Bharti fans? “So Haarsh and I don’t ever call them our fans but family because of the amount of love these people have for us. Our show is starting November 25 onwards on Bharti TV, my YouTube channel, and I hope everyone would enjoy watching it, comment and also share feedback, suggestions. Talking about her mother, Bharti Singh said, ”I want to thank my mother because she listened to me and followed all my instructions while she was suffering from Covid 19. Now she maintains a healthy lifestyle. She walks regularly, doesn’t eat sweets, and gets her diabetes checked regularly. But I do keep feeding her sweets from time to time as I feel she needs a break sometimes. Jokes aside, my mother is like my friend. I can discuss anything with her. I lost my father when I was 2 and my mother has never made me feel like I didn’t have a dad. I wish that when I have a daughter, she is like my mother.”

Bharti Singh’s mother Kamla Singh said, “When I was ill, my daughter Bharti took care of me like she was my mother. She motivated me and kept visiting me and kept up my spirits and made me strong and asked me to stay positive. In fact, the doctors told me that she got very emotional about my condition. I was surprised that my daughter, who is such a jolly person, would cry. But she has a very kind heart. During the pandemic, she has been sending food to so many of the loved ones that she almost became a dabbawali.
