Actress #NyrraaMBanerji was recently honoured with an award for her selfless contribution during the pandemic. Speaking about it Nyrraa says,”I got the #MumbaiHulchal achievers award for my contribution during the #Covid19 pandemic. I donated a lot of stuff, did a campaign for supporting police and also made a short film on domestic violence. I also continued to share spiritual and positive quotes through my social media handles. I also kept entertaining the public with my renditions during lockdown. This award is a result of all of this effort. It’s always a nice humble feeling when you are being rewarded for your contribution to the society and this time it was special as I have received this from the governor of Maharashtra Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari. It was a special day of my life and will always be embedded in my memory.”

She adds, “Awards are nothing but a form of appreciation. It makes me happy and I get encouragement.” So what’s important to you?

“For me, appreciation of my creativity comes first. Also, the name comes first to me. When there is a name there is fame. And then awards and money follow if you are lucky. An actor’s life is not easy. One is working continuously with make-up and without having proper rest. Sometimes you need to look good and fit in front of the camera even when you are not feeling well. I also want to thank my mother for her unconditional and constant support towards me. I also want to thank all the production houses for giving me the nicest roles which I have portrayed in front of the camera and then I am grateful to my fans for making it a hit.”

“Creative Connection Trust”- a non-profit organisation dedicated to help people in vulnerable situations hosted their annual 6th year “Saraswati Puja (Basant Panchami)” with a social cause.

Creative Connection aims to involve collectively for the highest good of the association and the greatest benefit of the society at large.

Owing to the COVID-19 situation in 2020, this year’s celebration was dedicated to Corona Warriors who put their lives at risk to save the country from the deadly virus.

Encouraged by the love and cooperation of its patrons, this year the trust celebrated the SARASWATI PUJA (BASANT PANCHAMI) on a grander scale while adhering to the rules of WHO- wearing masks, using sanitizers and maintaining social distancing.

The place where Maa Saraswati was seated was decorated with fresh flowers and rangoli. This celebration is not all about worshiping the goddess of knowledge but it also signifies the arrival of spring season. The evening had performances from renowned singers who added to the merriment of the celebration.

Covid-19 contracted Varun Dhawan regrets not being extra careful!

While shooting for an upcoming new film Jug Jug Jiyo, Covid caught up with the principle artistes. Anil Kapoor, Neetu Singh Kapoor, director Raj Mehta and lead actor Varun Dhawan reportedly were diagnosed as Covid + patients. The shooting came to a grinding halt and all the concerned persons are quarantined.

Actually despite taking due care before, during and after shoots, this incident came to a light. It maybe a warning sign for other shooting-units. It proves that life is unpredictable and corona virus threat is still looming large. All the artistes have requested their fans and people in general to be extra vigilant if moving out of the house.

Varun Dhawan was dejected after hearing about him catching Covid and have stated, ‘So as I returned to work in the pandemic era I have contracted Covid-19. All precautions were taken by the production but still nothing is certain in life especially Covid-19. So please be careful. I believe I could have been more careful. I see the get well soon messages and my spirits are high taking each day at a time. Thank u.

Marathi theatre’s dilemma could be solved through dialogue!

Covid 19 compelled theatres to close down indefinitely. After almost eight months government allowed them to reopen from 5th of November. Though cinema theatres have opened, Marathi Drama theatres are yet to open. Efforts are being made to open the same. It has been decided to hold a seminar for the same on 7th December to review the situation.

Seminar organized by Vinay Apte Pratishthan and Jagatik Marathi Natyadharmi Nirmata Sangh discussed following points. What will be the Marathi theatre after Covid? What will be the new normal for artists? What will be the financial Aspects of the producers? How many viewers will actually come?

Vijay Kenkare, Vandana Gupte, Shrirang Godbole, Sunil Barve, Prajakt Deshmukh, Abhijit Jhunjarrao will participate in this seminar organized by Vinay Apte Pratishthan and Jagatik Marathi Natyadharmi Nirmata Sangh on the occasion of Vinay Apte’s Memorial Day.
