Talking about the show, she says, “It’s the story of 5 different families and all of them have important scenes. My character belongs to a Sindhi family. I am a business woman and a house wife too. She runs a beauty parlour and loves her husband a lot. She has named her beauty parlour as per his husband’s name. She seeks his husband’s attention all the time but her husband is always crazy behind his work. He loves his wife but doesn’t give much attention to her the way he gives to his work. My character has different getups like different hair or different kinds of makeup just to impress her husband and just to get noticed by her husband. Since her husband hardly notices her, they are also into a cute tom and jerry fight. These small things will bring out a lot of comedy in our family. Every family has a different scenario. She is fun loving, lovable and hardworking,” she says.

The actress says that both comedy and mythology are not easy. “From mythology to comedy, the roles are way too different. While playing mythological characters, you need to be very careful with the pauses in the dialogue delivery whereas for comedy characters, you have to be energetic and humorous all the time, so both are challenging. Playing a comic character is challenging because no matter what you are feeling in your personal life, you have to perform with full enthusiasm and in an energetic way. The dialogue delivery in comic characters is high pitched and your body language has a lot of movements and you can’t play subtle. You have to be expressive. I love experimenting with different characters and this is the reason that it took so much time to get something. Usually it happens that after doing one show, you can’t show offers related to that type of character, but I prefer waiting so that I get something different. I believe in performance and don’t want to go into type cast.”

Talking about her return to fiction shows, she says, “I did a show called Suhani Si Ek Ladki in 2014 where I played a negative character and then I played goddess Saraswati in my next show Shrimat Bhagwat in 2018. It was a mythological show. Now, I am returning to fiction after 4 years. It was a wonderful experience as it was my first mythology show. Playing mythological characters is very different to playing regular ones. Your dialogue delivery and body language are different and you have to work on every detail. Each and every word of yours should be pronounced properly. Your speech matters a lot and you have to work a lot and keep rehearsing. Your acting should depict those pauses that you take in between along with your facial expressions and you should be very subtle and not very loud. It was a learning experience for me.”

Talking about her experience of working with Dangal TV, she says, “I am happy that I am working with Dangal. I was locked for two shows last year but that never happened. But this time finally, I got a chance and I have no complaints.”

She adds, “I love being on set because there is so much fun and positivity on our set, so much to learn from each one of them. Every single person is very helpful, caring, and kind. I thank God for giving me this show with such lovely people. I couldn’t have asked for more. It’s always fun to be around them.”

The title is also completely apt for the show, says the actress, adding, “Palkon Ki Chaavn Mein itself brings a lot of positivity and energy. I feel the title is very beautiful and people can easily connect to the show for me. I would just say to the audience “please hume bhi apni palkon ki chaav mein rakhiyega.”

However, shooting has been challenging at times as well, says Sheetal, “It was when we were shooting in Ujjain, I had to jump from a bridge, I was very scared of heights. I am not scared of water but heights scare me. Though I was harnessed most of the time when solo drones were taking shots, I was not harnessed and I had to stand just for that drone shot. It was very scary because it was so windy. But once it was all shot, I came down and everybody was shouting and clapping for me including the crowd and I was very happy. My director was happy. I will always remember this,” she says.

“My only expectation from this show is that people should love this season as much as they loved season 1. As there is a lot of effort put in from the team of PKCM. The storyline and the artists are also so good. The review of the show which I have got is positive,” she says, adding, “This is the first time that I’m working with Dangal TV. I had been hearing that Dangal TV is doing really well since the last few years. They are bringing out new shows. They are taking efforts and bringing out good content. It’s just the start and I like the fact that I got associated with this channel. I think people will love my character in the show.”

Talking about her character, she says, “In this show, Suman (Trupti) is the main protagonist and I’m playing the role of Suman’s mami. Suman’s parents are not there in the show. Her Mama and mami have brought up suman and her brother. Mama loves them and he never wanted to have a child. When I came after getting married, I was given the responsibility of taking care of a child. After some time, such a thing started spreading like aunt (me) is infertile. She got a lot of taunts. Mami is very upset and angry. Due to this, she remains angry with her husband. She is also angry with Suman and her brother. Especially Suman. The family is quite normal. But whatever they have, she feels it goes for these kids.”

She adds, “I do not relate to this character. She gets angry with her family. She talks about how she wanted a child, and her inner frustration is visible. It is a very relatable thing that you do. So I can understand the conflict going on in her mind, but I don’t relate to it.”

The shoot is also fun, says Seema, adding, “The show has a big cast. I haven’t shot much. But whatever has been shot has been a good experience. It is like a family now. Everyone on set supports and appreciates others. Till now I’m not so close because I haven’t shot much with the rest of the cast. Everyone is talented and is working so hard. It has been really hectic. The focus was on the shoot and we wanted to complete the work on time. I found the shaadi sequence really funny and entertaining.”

The actress hopes that the audience relate to the drama in this show. “Drama in any TV show is the main attraction of the audience. As Indians, we love drama. This is such a topic which is evergreen. Without drama you cannot do a film or show. Drama is always loved by the audience. I hope the audience will like the drama of this show too,” she says.

“I think the title of the show Janam Janam Ka Sath is very apt because it brings out the exact idea of what the story is about which is reincarnation about past life. I like the title a lot. The story of the show revolves around three characters; Abheer, Vidhi and Trishala, in the present life. In the past life, it’s Bhanumati, Adinath and Saguna. The story is about love and hate where Abheer and Vidhi represent love and Trishala stands for hate. It’s a story about how life has transcended overtime and there are things and emotions that have still been carried over to the next life,” she says.

She adds, “My character is the main negative character in the show and I will be seen in a negative role for the very first time. This time, I thought of experimenting a little where I am making life difficult for Aabheer and Vidhi because I am very possessive about Abheer.”

However, she doesn’t associate much with her character, says Ashmita, adding, “Honestly, I don’t relate to my character because she’s a negative character but there are some possessive things that I might accept if I was in a relationship in real life too. I guess we all have little of Trishala in us. It might not be that intense but I guess we all are possessive for the people we love. But this was what made me sign up. The graph of my character was what attracted me.

She adds, “Playing a lead role is a lot of responsibility, there is a lot on your shoulders. But, this time, I am not feeling any pressure because I am enjoying my journey. As long as all three of us enjoy the process, it’s going to be fun.”

Of course, interacting with a great team is always a bonus on a show, says the actress. “I think the best thing about doing a TV show is that you end up meeting the best team who end up making magic on screen. You also are touching millions of lives, every single day and the whole week they wait to see you. So it’s a very powerful medium and if we deliver a great show, it can take us places. It’s a great experience all over. Also, working in a daily soap polishes our skills as an actor and we learn a lot of new things,” she says, adding, “I share a great bond with everyone. I have a great bond with Rakshandha Ma’am, Nikki, Gaurav. Gaurav, especially, has made special efforts to make sure everything’s perfect and comfortable. Nikki is a great person, she’s someone I connect with a lot.”

Meanwhile, Asmita says that she is not one to get deterred by competition. “There’s a lot of competition but more than that is a lot of opportunities. There’s web, shows, festival films, regional films. The boundaries between all the mediums are blurring and it gives a lot of opportunities. So, I wouldn’t call it a competition but an opportunity for actors,” she says.

Megha Ray, playing the character of Dhani, expressed her happiness on the occasion and said, “Our show has completed a century and it’s a milestone. Completing 100 episodes with consistently high TRP is a big achievement. We had never thought that in such a short span of time we will be among the top shows of Dangal TV. Everyone’s hard work has plaid off. I had a broken leg, while Dhruv had a serious back injury, despite that we all have been doing action scenes. My character Dhani’s journey in the show has been different. Initially Dhani’s character was about a girl, who is blunt when it comes to sharing her views. This is the theme of our show that whatever is written in destiny, does happen. When injustice is being done to you, then it is also necessary to take your stand and Dhani is fighting for her rights without fear.”

Dhruv said, “Srishti has tied a black thread, Dhani is going to save me from it. It is a fight against good and evil. Dhani senses that something is wrong with Dhruv so she takes some steps.” Sudesh Berry, who plays Kashinath Pandey, said, “This journey of 100 episodes has been a memorable one. Success is actually the result of everyone’s efforts. The word Dangal is a hit, whether it is a film or a channel. Due to the hard work of the entire team and the prayers of the audience, Rang Jaoon Tere Rang Mein has become a super hit.”

Ketki Kadam, essays the role of Srishti shared how it is the unconditional love of the audience due to which the show has crossed the 100 mark. “I like my character very much. Initially a simple girl, then she takes revenge. Our show is about how even luck can change and circumstances can change. Relationships can change. Initially Srishti and Dhani were loving sisters but now there is a rift between the two. Although I have a very good friendship with Dhani off screen, we take care of each other, and share food. In the new sequence, Srishti does some drama but Dhani catches up,” she says.

Diksha Dhami, who is playing the role of Pooja Pandey said, “This journey of hundred episodes has been fun for all of us, we got to learn a lot and also formed relationships with many people.” Meena Mir, who is playing the role of bua ji, said, “The entire team of the show, all the fellow actors, directors, technicians are very good. My character Bua ji is being appreciated a lot as it has different shades.”
