The ultimate cooking challenge is in its final leg! After whipping up the most divine dishes and making a place for themselves in the hearts of the judges and the audiences, #MasterChefAustraliaSeason13 finalists #JustinNarayan, #KishwarChowdhury and #PeteCampbell will compete for the coveted trophy on 14th July, streaming on #DisneyPlus, #HotstarPremium. The esteemed judges Jock Zonfrillo, Melissa Leong and Andy Allen made sure that they took the competition a notch higher by maintaining a sharp eye on all the food being prepared in the MasterChef kitchen. They threw multiple challenges that tested the contestants’ ability to match flavours, cook delicious dishes and maintain composure; all integral in a professional kitchen environment. Produced by Endemol Shine Australia and internationally distributed by Banijay Rights, MasterChef Australia Season 13 started with 24 fine contestants who brought their style of home cooking with a dream to make it big on an international platform.

Each contestant entered the competition with a story of how they connected with food and made cooking their passion. After multiple Mystery Box, Pressure Test, Immunity and Elimination challenges, the fight has narrowed down to three contestants out of the top 24. Justin Narayan, a half Indian and half Fijian Australian, comes from a family where food was a part of his culture. Justin’s Noodle Taco, Charcoal Rooster With Toum, Flatbread and Pickle Salad and Indian Rooster Curry, Crispy Rooster Pores and skin and an Apple and Cucumber Pickle left the judges stunned by his art and got him to the finals. Kishwar Chowdhury, a mother of two brought her humble Bangladeshi culture and cuisine on this prestigious stage. Stepping in with a small dream to place Bangladeshi cuisine amongst the international best, Kishwar took the audience and judges by storm with her simple yet flavourful dishes including Macher Jhol, Khichidi, Puchkas, Goat Rezala and so more. Pete Cambell emerged as a food genius, presenting elegant Michelin-level dishes to the judges. Pete added heat to the competition with his Carrot Steak with Béarnaise Emulsion, and Lamb and Turnip with Saltbush, and Roasted Lamb Sauce – two of his dishes which blew the judges’ minds.

Who among the three aspiring culinary chefs will win the coveted trophy and $250,000 as prize money? To find out, catch the thrilling finale on 14th July on Disney+ Hotstar Premium as one of them will walk away as the winner of MasterChef Australia Season 13.

Rohan Gandotra remembers, ‘In Ladakh I recall facing issues like sleepless nights or difficulty in breathing’

After winning several hearts with his exceptional performances in diverse roles, prominent television actor Rohan Gandotra will now be seen in the upcoming war-epic 1962: The War In The Hills. He will essay the role of Karan, best friend to Kishan (Akash Thosar) and a brave soldier who is part of the battalion. Directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, the series also stars Abhay Deol, Sumeet Vyas, Akash Thosar, Annup Sonii and Mahie Gill amongst many other prominent actors – details of which will be announced soon. The Hotstar Specials series – 1962: The War in the Hills is inspired by true events and narrates an untold story of bravery and valour and how an army of 125 Indians stood against 3000 Chinese. The cast and crew shot in Ladakh in tough situations.

Speaking about the challenges he faced while shooting in tough terrains, actor Rohan Gandotra said, “It’s been a surreal experience working on 1962: The War In The Hills. I remember we also shot in places like Ladakh and I recall facing issues like sleepless nights or difficulty in breathing. Shooting in high terrain can be a challenge, especially with harsh weather conditions. But we trained really well and once we got to the shot, everything made sense. It made me wonder – if we find it so tough to shoot for a few days, imagine what our soldiers go through on a daily basis.”

Rohan Gandotra plays a pivotal role in the series – Karan who is a brave army soldier on field in the battalion led by Major Suraj Singh (Abhay Deol) and an equally reliant friend off field to Kishan (Akash Thosar). Deepti Naval is known for her excellent acting abilities and beguiling personality on screen. The senior actor has mesmerized the audience with her effortless acting and craft of work throughout her career. Speaking about her role in the courtroom drama web-series Criminal Justice: Behind Closed Doors, she said, “I enjoyed working in the series because I had seen part 1 of Criminal Justice and I had liked it very much. I thought it was very well shot, it was sleek and gripping. I wanted to be part of it; when they offered me the role I agreed and why not it is something I enjoyed watching so it would be nice to become part of it in chapter 2”.

Talking about her experience of working with her co-stars, she adds, “I also looked forward to working with the younger actors, the new, young exciting lot and I enjoyed working in this thriller. I enjoyed working with Pankaj Tripathi, Shilpa Shukla, the child who played my grand daughter Mishti Sinha and the two directors I worked with Rohan Sippy and Arjun Mukherjee both are very bright, I enjoyed working with both of them”.

With the singular objective of telling a great path breaking narrative, the next chapter will be significantly more gripping and engaging.
