Deeply moved by the film, Ektaa especially praised director Imtiaz Ali for bringing alive a powerful love story set during the Partition. She also called A. R. Rahman’s music “pure magic” and appreciated the film’s emotional depth and nostalgic feel.

Sharing her thoughts on social media, Ektaa wrote, “So I still can’t get over the film I saw… It genuinely took me an entire day to even think of what to write because I didn’t want to get a single word wrong. A film that the world is going to witness in June… I got to experience in May. And let me tell you, even a month before its release, all I want to say is: you have no idea what’s coming next! This movie is called Main Vaapas Aaunga, a love story set against the backdrop of the Partition. A film that beautifully shows how generations may think differently, live differently, and love differently… yet somehow it all leads back to the same thing: you have to fall in love! It’s emotional, timeless, and stays with you long after it ends. It creates an unheard-of, unbelievable nostalgia. It leaves everyone thinking about that one person they never got closure with… that one person they left with unfinished promises… that one person they know they’ll remember even on their last day. This film leaves you with a heart-wrenching kind of love, the kind two people must have felt in a time when there were no mobile phones, no digital media… just longing, patience, and emotions that stayed forever.
@imtiazaliofficial is in TOP form!
@arrahman music is pure magic!
What stays with you is @diljitdosanjh restrained performance. He carries his emotions and his duality in his eyes, playing a young man who doesn’t know how to express himself, what to commit to, or how to navigate his relationships.
But the surprise package of the film is @vedangraina. What an outstanding breakout performance! I had seen him in The Archies and liked him there, but here he’s truly in top form. He is unbelievably charming, and as a sardarji, he is absolutely going to win hearts! So impressed with what he has done in this film.
@sharvari is absolutely beautiful on screen. Her eyes express every emotion with so much grace and honesty. She has such a strong presence, and she’s definitely someone we’ll look forward to seeing in many more films.
@naseeruddin49 is simply an icon. Any words used to describe how good he is would honestly feel inadequate, because nothing truly does justice to the kind of actor he is.
Can’t stop thinking about this film !”

Main Vaapas Aaunga stars Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah, Sharvari Wagh, and Vedang Raina in key roles. Set in Imtiaz Ali’s signature world of love, heartbreak, and longing, the film is backed by Applause Entertainment and Window Seat Films. The film is set to release in cinemas on 12th June 2026, with music by TIPS.

At WAVES 2025, When Ektaa R Kapoor was seen speaking about TVF and how they are able to make stories and characters that everyone has been able to resonate with and be nostalgic with. She said, “When you see a story, you resonate with the story. A lot of us watching Panchayat have not really seen villages and some of us haven’t even lived in a village. It’s the characterization, it’s the way stories are told, it’s the way you connect to the fact that you have landed up in the city or a smaller town which has simplicity attached to it. It’s like going back to older times. It gives you a touch of nostalgia. All these are again emotional connect to the story of a small town or village. At the end of the day, it really doesn’t matter and therefore it can travel.”

As February 27th, 2025, marks the 23rd anniversary of the tragic 2002 Godhra train incident, the recently released film The Sabarmati Report stands as a powerful reminder of an event that reshaped India’s socio-political landscape. This milestone serves as a solemn moment to reflect on the impact of that fateful day. A subject as complex and sensitive as this demanded an extraordinary level of responsibility, and the filmmakers have delivered with precision and authenticity.

In an unprecedented moment for Indian cinema, The Sabarmati Report holds the distinction of being the only film watched by the Prime Minister of India during his working tenure. This unparalleled recognition underscores the film’s significance and its impact in chronicling a pivotal moment in history through a compelling narrative. By bringing one of India’s most debated incidents to the forefront with nuanced storytelling, the film has set a new benchmark for socially conscious filmmaking.

Directed by the visionary #DheerajSarna, the film boasts a stellar cast, with Vikrant Massey, #RaashiiKhanna, and #RidhiDogra delivering powerful performances. Their ability to portray the emotional and historical gravity of the incident ensures that the story is both hard-hitting and deeply moving.

A special tribute must be given to #EktaaRKapoor and #BalajiTelefilms for their unwavering commitment to impactful storytelling. Kapoor’s fearless approach to cinema has once again proven that stories rooted in reality can create meaningful discourse and lasting change. Her dedication to bringing bold narratives to life has redefined the boundaries of mainstream cinema.

Vikrant Massey, who delivered a riveting performance said, “This film is not just about an incident; it’s about the impact it left on the nation and its people—how so many used the tragedy to further their agendas without thinking about the lives lost and the families affected. It is our 9/11. Being part of such a powerful narrative has been a truly humbling experience. The support from the Prime Minister—especially since this is the only film he has watched in Parliament—and the response from the entire nation make me feel that there is still space for cinema that reflects society.”

As The Sabarmati Report continues to resonate with audiences and critics alike, it serves as a testament to the power of cinema in shaping conversations and preserving history.
