Rajesh Kumar spends time with his son at his farm!

Rajesh Kumar, popularly known as Rosesh Sarabhai of “Sarabhai vs Sarabhai” who was last seen in Excuse Me Maadam which went off air abruptly in December , spent the last year farming and growing vegetables at his farm in Manor (Palghar) Mumbai. The actor wanted to introduce the concept of community farming and looks like he has already put a stepping stone by encouraging his son, Vyaan, to help him at the farm.

Rajesh Kumar started farming in 2017. The father-son duo was clicked at their farm and it seems the actor was teaching his son how to pluck coriander leaves, and the smile on Vyaan’s face says it all. After Horticulture he is growing organic vegetables in Bihar as well. As they say, education begins at home, and Rajesh is setting a good example for it.

Rajesh Kumar celebrated his first Chhath Puja

With Chhath puja the festive season ended in the country. The festival is called “Mahaparv” in Bihar and “Sarabhai vs Sarabhai” actor Rajesh Kumar was lucky to do it last year. He even shared a pic on his social media account and talking about it said, “It was my first Chhath puja. My mother has been doing Chhath for 53 years now and this is one of the toughest fast anyone can keep.”

“Women fast without consuming water in Karwa Chauth for 14-16 hours, but in Chhath people fast without water for 36 hours. So last year, when I did it for the first time, it was very tough. It was really difficult to be without even a single drop of water, but it’s the test of your will-power, it’s the test of the purity of the festival. So, when I got the chance, I took it because I got a chance to celebrate it with my mother, so the whole intention was that and I also wanted to know what the festival is. And I got to know it is ‘mahaparv’ because it takes a lot of courage for all the Chatthvrati to keep this fast,” he added.

Talking about the festival, the “Baa Bahoo Aur Baby” actor said, “The whole festival is so pure. In Bihar, the roads and streets are cleaned and decorated especially for this festival, and you can hear Chatth songs playing everywhere. The whole atmosphere is very charged and very pure, you won’t find any mishappenings during this time. There are many people who do ‘dandwat’ till the ghats where the puja happens.”

“Like Ganpati is for Maharashtra and anyone who is out of Maharashtra they miss being home during this festival. I think Chhath is the same, and I can see it going global because now Biharis are all over the world. I miss it a lot because Bihar is very different during this time. It’s a completely different atmosphere post-Diwali because of this festival,” he added.

The “Excuse Me Maadam” actor further said that the festival brings back a lot of childhood memories and also shared how it brings together anyone and everyone. “This festival means a lot to me because it also brings back a lot of childhood memories and it’s like an extension of Diwali. Even with so much crowd at one place during this festival, there is still so much calm and everyone is very helpful and especially the approach of the people towards the ones who are doing Chatth is completely different, its very heartwarming. People get unified and everyone comes together to celebrate it together. I just hope the way people treat each other during Chatth, the way they see each other, and the way they help each other, continues during the rest of the year too,” Rajesh concluded.

Binaiferr Kohli helps underprivileged women, gets special masks made from them for the cast of ‘EMM’!

Corona pandemic damaged economies world wide, including india. Many lost their jobs, livelihood but there are good Samaritans who are working towards welfare of these people, directly or indirectly. Sanjay and Binaiferr Kohli are part of the group.

Sanjay and Binaiferr Kohli are one of the most successful producers in the entertainment industry. The couple recently got masks with the show’s logo for the actors of their popular show (EMM) “Excuse Me Maadam On Star Bharat”. The masks are a part of Binaiferr’s friend Nipa Majethia’s initiative where she is helping the underprivileged women from Gujarat. Through this initiative, Nipa is helping a group of women from Surat who lost their livelihoods during the pandemic.

Talking about it Binaiferr said, “Both Sanjay Ji and I try to do as much social work as we can. We generally don’t talk about it, but this time we are sharing it because these people really need help, and we are trying to reach as many people as we can. It’s a very kind move by Nipa, and I can guarantee that you will fall in love with these masks. They are white in colour but have the shows’ logo on the side. It looks very cute.”

“The cast and crew is also quite happy with it. After going through COVID and seeing the adverse effects of the pandemic on the livelihood of so many people, this is the least we can do,” she added.

Binaiferr also posed with the actors Rajesh Kumar, Nyra Banerjee, Sucheta Khanna, Anup Upadhyay, Sapna Sikarwar, to name a few. The producer hopes this encourages others as well to support such people who are in dire need of help.

Rajesh Kumar’s Rishi Kapoor inspired disguise

Actor Rajesh Kumar’s recent fun act of disguising himself as a tailor in producers Sanjay and Binaiferr Kohli’s show Excuse Me Maadam, has received a phenomenal response from his audience. The actor reveals that his character of a tailor is inspired by late actor’s disguise as a tailor in the iconic film Amar Akbar Anthony.

“For an episode, where my Sanam gets stuck because he didn’t do something that Madam had asked him to do, he takes the disguise of a tailor to save himself and take Madam’s measurement. This whole disguise happened in a fun way. People tell me that I look like Rishi Kapoor ji, and this look is taken from Amar Akbar Anthony’s Rishi ji’s look. This is a fun episode and I finally manage to disguise myself quite well,” he shares.

The multi-talented actor also reveals that playing a disguise in a show is a lot of fun and adds so much to different layers of a character.

“Any get up brings some kind of fun and brings out characters within the character. It becomes a little difficult but also fun. You get a chance to go over the top because you enacting some other character and you don’t have to be in a realistic zone. The costume and make-up highlights the character and it is very supportive and helpful because this is the difference between realistic and animated. You can play with it. For example, if you are in the character of a sardaar ji, you know you can speak Punjabi and play with it,” he says.
