The film ‘Nomadland’ is based on the 2017 non-fiction book Nomadland: Surviving America in the Twenty-First Century by Jessica Bruder. It’s been adapted now into a feature film with the same name. Nomadland is a film written, edited, and directed by Chloé Zhao. The story revolves around the character played by Frances McDormand as a woman who leaves home to travel around the American West. It also features David Strathairn in a supporting role, as well as real-life nomads Linda May, Swankie, and Bob Wells, as fictionalized versions of themselves.

Nomadland kicks off the much awaited Oscar season and will be one of the first big nominated films to release in Indian theaters. It has 6 prestigious nominations in OSCARS and 7 BAFTA nominations including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actress. The movie won the Best Picture and Best Director at the Golden Globes Award 2021.
