In its maiden edition of Grazia Millennial Awards, an unconventional pink carpet witnessed stars such as Deepika Padukone, who bagged the Millennial of the Year award whereas director Karan Johar won Honorary Millennial of the Year award, a special category and a key highlight of the first edition. Lauding a host of millennials from various walks of life, who have inspired a generation with their ideas and talent, other winners at the IP included Vicky Kaushal, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Janhvi Kapoor, Ananya Pandey, Gautam Vazirani, Kusha Kapila, Pooja Dhingra, Masaba Gupta, Naezy, Dutee Chand among others.

These go-getters will be nominated across 16 categories – Performer of the Year, Breakthrough Performer, Designer of the Year, Digital Influencer of the Year, Athlete of the Year, Mould-breaker of the year, Musician of the Year, Model of the Year, and Honorary Millennial of the Year.

Having made waves in the Tamil, Telugu and Hindi-film industry, Shruti’s last film in Bollywood was Behen Hogi Teri back in 2017. Despite being the daughter of two successful superstars, Kamal Haasan and Sarika, the actor celebrates being a ‘misfit’. “I complete 11 years in the film industry, but I still feel like an outsider, more so in Bollywood. But I continue to revel in the difference that I bring to the table. Being a misfit is a celebration, not deceit.’’

The actor is looking forward to the year 2021 with more music, movies, and energy. The first release of 2021 for Haasan is the Telegu film, Krack, which also stars Ravi Teja and is directed by Gopichand Malineni followed by a Tamil film titled Laabam. Sharing her experience of shooting in the new normal, Shruti says, “I’m not going to lie, I was quite apprehensive about shooting with a collective, but hey, that’s how the film-making process works. Social distancing is the hardest part on set because the nature of film-making is so collaborative. Making movies in 2020 is not for the faint of heart, but it is possible if everyone on set adapts to it responsibly and carefully”
