“Indian audience loves drama. We always try to deliver what the audience likes, what they want to see. The audience is god. We will always try to show what they want,” she said.

Talking about her character, said that though she was a rich brat, she is trying her best to adjust to the family. She added, “She has always been pampered by her dad, but when she fell in love with Alok she gave up everything to be with the love of her life. She is a little possessive about Alok but that’s how women are in the real world, they are possessive about their man.”

Aishwarya also confessed that though her character never had a back story, the audience still related to her. Sharing a unique compliment that she received, she said, “Someone said ‘accha sabak sikha rahe ho Jaya ko’, I found it funny, but going by the show there is a rivalry between Jaya and Aditi and this comment shows I am playing my character well.”

The newly wedded couples are off on their honeymoon, and unfortunately, they land up at the same hotel. Like always Veeru and Jaya end up fighting at the hotel, and Jaya decides that she cannot live like this. She leaves the hotel crying and was just about to get hit by a car when Alok jumped in and saved her. Later, we see that Alok and Jaya are having a conversation where Alok tells her that he will always be there with her as a friend. Aditi sees all this and brings Veeru along. She goes on to question Jaya’s character and says a lot of uncalled for things to her.

When they reach their rooms, Veeru tells Jaya that he is sorry about the scene Aditi created and that he believes her. He tells her that he has seen her since his childhood, and revealed that he was jealous of her friendship with Alok because he was always sidelined. Jaya and Veeru have a cute moment there. The next day Jaya gets lemonade for him and asks him to have it for his hangover. Meanwhile, Aditi tells Alok that she is insecure with Jaya’s presence and asks him to prove his loyalty.

In Banaras, Shiv and Ganga are invited for a godhbharai but the women there don’t let Ganga do anything, because she doesn’t have a baby of her own. Rajat intervenes by calling her Bhabhi maa and Shiv also tells them that they shouldn’t believe in such things. Shiv and Ganga have got some renovations done in their house for Jaya and Aditi, and they organise a puja at home. Both the couples surprise them by reaching home early. On their arrival, Aditi tells them that she is expecting her and Alok’s baby. This was happy news for the Gupta family and Ganga asked them to join the puja. During the puja, the pandit tells Aditi to avoid using her bathroom as it’s not been made in the correct direction. He tells them that he will let them know of a solution very soon.

But Jaya is upset as Aditi did not share the good news with her, and her mother Amba adds fuel to the fire saying she and Veeru should also have a baby. Jaya gets angry and says a lot of bitter things to Veeru. A hurt Veeru then decides to look for a groom for Jaya and also starts talking to divorce lawyers as he feels he has spoiled Jaya’s life.

Ganga is busy taking care of Aditi and makes dishes and sweets which are good for expecting women. But Aditi starts to order food from outside without anyone’s knowledge. Amba looks at it as an opportunity and in the upcoming episode, we will see that Amba will add something to Aditi’s food so that she suffers a miscarriage.

“I don’t like people shouting or creating a fuss. So I try to make people bond and that’s how Ganga is, so I can relate to her,” she added.

Talking more about her character, she said, “Ganga never had a family so right now her whole life is this family of hers. Shiv has taught her a lot of things as she was an orphan, so now she tries to create and maintain a balance in the family.”

The show is based in Banaras and Parineeta can be seen wearing sarees regularly on-screen, although when her character was initially introduced she would wear western clothes too. She said, “Initially I was wearing modern clothes, but now I am wearing only sarees because as we know that women in Banaras wear sarees mostly, so Ganga has adapted that and also the lifestyle Gupta family has had. She has merged herself into that.”

Asked if she feels that female protagonists are setting an example by wearing sarees on-screen, she said, “I think wearing and rocking sarees on-screen is a nice thing because otherwise, we don’t see a lot of women wearing sarees regularly.”

“Even I, for example, wear it occasionally, like while attending a marriage or any festivities, but at least through this, we can show our culture. Also in some places, women still wear sarees daily, so this is a portrayal of how real India is and it helps in connecting with the audience too,” Parineeta concluded.

Hiten Tejwani: 2020 was good. It taught us a lot of things, although for four months we were all locked up in our house. It taught us that we only need basic things in life and we have to value time. I got to spend a lot of time with my family. There are no new year plans, but this year I will be celebrating it with my family at home. Usually, I celebrate it outside India or Mumbai, but this time we will be bringing in the new year at home. I don’t have any new year’s resolution as such because I don’t believe in waiting for a new year to do something, I start it right away.

Rinku Dhawan: My 2020 year has been as challenging as it could be. Challenging in a way that I got work ‘Gupta Brothers’ and this was after almost three years, but soon after we started shooting the lockdown happened because of COVID, so you can imagine my situation. I was so excited to be back to work, face the camera but we were locked inside our homes. I did indulge my 2020 in doing a lot of meditation, spirituality, in keeping myself at peace. There were so many suicide cases of people from the industry that was coming in, so it was disturbing, and by the grace of God I was pretty settled in my mind and I had bigger plans. Considering we are back in curfew there are no new year plans as such, but whatever little we will do, it will be with family. We will have fun at home. My new year’s resolution is just to be focussed strictly on giving better performances and doing good work. 2021 is going to be my new year.

Parineeta Borthakur: 2020 was like a roller coaster for me. There were some bad downs and good ups. Bad downs because I have lost some family I was close to and good ups like I launched my makeup brand Nyor, which I was planning for the past three years. And I am doing ‘Gupta Brothers’ which is another good thing that happened to me this year. My learning from 2020 is that we need very less to survive, everything other than that is just our want and not need. My new year celebration has been the same for years. My sisters also live in Mumbai so we always used to have a get-together. But this year they are not here so it’s a little weird feeling but I am going to celebrate it with my close friends. I stopped planning for resolution long back because I feel they are always broken. So instead of having a resolution I would rather try to appreciate and be thankful for the things I already have.

Aishwarya Raj Bhakuni: 2020 for me was amazing. I got a lot closer to my goals in life. I did a Yash Raj film which will release next year, and I am doing ‘Gupta Brothers’ right now. So my life is going on the right track. My learning from 2020 is savings and proper investment plannings, especially for times like these, because life is very uncertain and some things are beyond your control. Since I can’t go to my hometown because of the hectic shoot schedule, my family is visiting me for the new year celebration. We will celebrate it together in Mumbai. My new year’s resolution is to make 2021 the most amazing year of my life.

Mahesh Pandey Productions launched a new show called “Gupta Brothers” a few months after the shooting resumed and revealed that he ensured everyone took care of the safety and precautionary measures.

Sharing his experience of 2020 and the lockdown, he said, “In the first two months we didn’t even know what to do. It was honestly like someone had put us in a big black tunnel where we could just wait to see where it leads to. It was very disappointing as I lost ‘Vidya’ too on the way. It hit us financially and even our planning was affected. But I guess you need to find the good even in a bad situation. So, all of us buckled up and we resumed shoots and luckily everything is going well with all the shows.”

“Initially, there was a scare, all of us had apprehensions, but now the industry is back on its feet. We are slowly going towards normalcy. The biggest challenge we faced earlier was the fear, and there was no cure for that, but once we got over it, we adjusted well to the new normal. My main focus the entire time was the awareness part because I felt if there was awareness people will take precautions themselves and will be careful,” he added.

What are your expectations from 2021? “In 2021, I want everyone to be healthy and happy. I wish people fulfill all their desires that were left incomplete in 2020, and I want my show ‘Gupta Brothers’ to do well,” Mahesh concluded.
