“I was introduced in Season 2 of Aashiqana. My role is primary and important to the story. My character Jia is extremely smart and elegant yet very mysterious. She is an introvert, while I am an extrovert. That’s why it was difficult and challenging for me to play Jia as it took me a while to get into the skin of her character,” she says.

Talking about how she bagged the role, Nirisha says, “I was in Nepal when I was told that I have been shortlisted. I had a strange gut feeling that I was destined for this role. It was around 10am. I immediately booked a flight for 4 pm, the same day, and flew to audition. I was told in an hour of my audition that I got the role and I cried and thanked my lucky stars.”

Ask her what is the difference she feels between TV and OTT, and she says, “OTT is more well planned, prepared, rehearsed and executed. It’s the same with TV, but only in the beginning. After a point, TV eventually runs out of time to do things in detail as they need to submit a full episode the very next day which is a lot of pressure.”

However, she adds that the TV industry has evolved. “It certainly has evolved in terms of technology like cameras used and pro editing techniques and all. But when it comes to storytelling , execution and actors, I still prefer TV shows from Kasautii Zindagi Kay, Kyunki Saas Bhi and Kahani Ghar ghar ki days,” she says.

While she loves action roles, Nirisha also says that at this point in her career, she is only looking for roles which are meaty. “Anything that gets me to do action, I would love to do it. Hopefully, I get my chances in films soon as well. But I love being part of OTT and TV too as long as I get to perform action roles since I am a martial arts student,” she says, adding, “What I truly enjoy is when I am the centre of the story. I can no longer take on secondary characters anymore. I have hated every minute of it. So, I only aim and enjoy doing primary roles. It doesn’t matter if it’s TV or OTT, as long as I get to perform and given enough screen space and importance, I enjoy everything.”

With an even darker, suspense-packed visual, Disney+ Hotstar today unveiled the second trailer for the most-awaited Hotstar Specials crime thriller, Rudra- The Edge Of Darkness at an event in Mumbai. Building curiosity, the trailer opens with a terrific dialogue by Ajay Devgn, “Jo andharo mein chupta hai, main usse wahi milta hu.” As he further introduces himself as ACP Rudra Veer, we get to see a glimpse of him solving the most mysterious crimes in the most unconventional ways.

Helmed by ace director Rajesh Mapuskar, this riveting psychological crime drama is celebrated actor Ajay Devgn’s digital series debut, where he will be donning the avatar of a cop never seen before. Snowdrop, one of the most highly-anticipated K-dramas has made its way to Disney+ Hotstar and will also be available in Hindi. Intriguing Characters, outstanding storytelling, and a fantastic cast – Snowdrop is a show that will take viewers on an emotional rollercoaster that is full of excitement, action, and romance. “When you’re doing a television show, you don’t really get time. You have to balance the person and the actor, whatever is going on in your life you have to stay emotionally connected to the scenes, understand what it demands. You could be tired and exhausted but you have render the scene precisely according to how it is written and envisioned. It’s your responsibility to deliver it, not always easy but after years one is able to do that with time. That is why we’re actors and we love what we do. Like so many people say about us, like what Stella Adler had said, “You have chosen a field where you’re going to be hurt to the blood. But to retreat from the pain is death”. So, the show must go on. Many times people have lost their loved ones and came back and shot for their project, people have gone through a lot of pain but have come back and performed, that is what we do and that is what we love doing and I think that is what keeps us sane,” he says.

Actors are generally said to have more relationship issues. Most actors don’t have trustworthy people or as many point out that they face trust issues.

“I don’t know if I can describe this emotional or relationship issues such things are common everywhere. I have seen a lot of people who aren’t actors, but are going through the same feelings of insecurity or not being able to trust people and all that. The industry is a place where everyone comes as an individual and then makes up this whole group whom you can call a team wherein everybody has dreams and aspirations and they know they are being watched and they need to put their craft out there to the best of their ability and knowing that people would judge or rate them. In all that activity they have to keep their peace of mind, their joy, their comfort and keep enjoying what they are doing,” adds the actor, who has done TV shows, Remix, Beyhadh 2, Kumkum, and, movies such as, Sargoshiyan, Dishkiyaoon and Horror Story.

Talking about his life, Hasan shares that all the relations in his life has been dealt with a lot of love, care and clarity. He says, “One tends to meet a lot of people and might think everybody is a friend but then as time passes by, one realizes that a very few are your close friends and have a certain special place in your life. What matters in the end is the choice one makes. Be comfortable with yourselves so that is how you will put everybody close to you in a comfortable position.”
