Teaser of “L2: Empuraan” starring Mohanlal Is Out Now!

Lyca Productions, one of South India’s leading production houses, is set to make its entry into the Malayalam film industry with the highly anticipated project, L2E Empuraan. Directed by #PrithvirajSukumaran, the film stars “The Complete Actor” Mohanlal in the lead role, marking their hat-trick third collaboration as director and actor after the super successful films, Lucifer and Bro Daddy.

As the second instalment of the trilogy that began with the 2019 blockbuster Lucifer, L2E Empuraan promises to deliver an epic cinematic experience. The teaser launch was held in Kochi and was graced by the presence of Megastar Mammootty as the chief guest, the film’s principal cast and crew, and other prominent personalities.

The teaser sets the stage in an abandoned town in Northern Iraq named “Qaraqosh,” introducing the character #StevenNedumpally, a saviour with a dark and intriguing side as #AbraamQureshi, who leads the most powerful mercenary hit group in Asia. The film showcases Mohanlal in an action-packed avatar with larger-than-life visuals. The film explores themes of power, betrayal, and control by blending elements of the political nexus and the world of mercenaries.

Lyca Productions, founded by #Subaskaran and headed by G.K.M. Tamil Kumaran, is a top production house known for delivering high-budget and content-driven films. For its Malayalam debut, Lyca Productions partnered with renowned producer #AntonyPerumbavoors #AashirwadCinemasPvtLtd banner and bankrolled this massive project.

Indrajith Sukumaran’s challenges, relatability factors about his character in ‘Halal Love Story’

The much awaited Halal Love Story has finally released on Amazon Prime Videos and a lot of moments and scenes from the film have resonated well with the audience, keeping the relatability factor high. Indrajith spills the beans about his character, relatability and much more. The actor shared, “As a character, it is definitely very exciting. There is cinema and there is cinema inside the cinema.”

Adding more about the character he further adds, “This character’s name is ‘Shareef’ and he is basically a bad actor so when considering actors for cinema inside the cinema, he’s probably the last option among many but they end up coming back to ‘Shareef’ and he gets casted as the lead in this film so there is a thin line because there are these portions where Shareef performs inside the movie and he’s not a good actor, so he has to be bad while performing.”

Speaking on his experience of almost two decades Indrajith ends by saying, “You know with your experience over the past 18 years, when you get a character you tend to make it good, you work hard to make it good. But, then that was not possible here. It was all about portraying it as bad as you can. But, then there was this confusion among everybody about how far that can go because there are portions of cinema inside cinema how much ‘Shareef’ could perform and to what level we could go. It shouldn’t be artificial at the same time it should look natural, naturally bad is what I would like to say.”

Ending on the note with the challenges Indrajith says, “So on that note it was very challenging and we had our own discussions amongst ourselves and we had multiple takes for the same scenes with different options. We used to see those takes and decide on which take to keep working. So it was a very challenging process as an actor to be discussing so much and to be giving different takes on different lines and deciding on which one to keep. Very interesting on that note of ‘Shareef’.”

Halal Love Story stars an Indrajith Sukumaran, Jojo Geeorge, Grace Antonry, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Soubin Shahir and Sharaf U Dheen in it’s pivotal roles.

The film is directed by Zakariya Mohammed and bankrolled by Aashiq Abu, Harshad Ali, and Jesna Ashim.

The Malayalam comedy drama, is available for all Prime members in over 200 countries and territories.

Amazon Prime Video today released the exciting new trailer of the highly-anticipated family entertainer film Halal Love Story. The film stars Joju George as an unorthodox director, Indrajith Sukumaran as the charming Shereef, Sharaf U Dheen as an unmarried young lad from an orthodox family named Thoufeek, along with Grace Anthony and Parvathy Thiruvothu in pivotal roles. The trailer of the comedy drama takes us through the perfectly imperfect journey of a group of cinema lovers from Kerala who are passionate about creating their own film but are subjected to a few guidelines to make their dreams finally come true.

The film within the film aims to adhere to religious beliefs at every point of its production and keeps them ‘lawfully’ right from its screenplay to its casting, and even to the entire shooting process. In the pursuit of making a film that suits their beliefs, chaos and confusion follows!
