In just 5 years since her acting debut in 2018, Radhika’s journey in the world of cinema has been nothing short of impressive. Radhika Madan’s films such as ‘Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota’,film which premiered in the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival, where it won the People’s Choice Award: Midnight Madness, ‘Kacchey Limbu’ and ‘Sanaa’ which grabbed the Best Actress Award at the UK Asian Film Festival have also premiered at varied International Film Festivals, including Miami Film Festival, TIFF, New York Indian Film Festival & UK Asian Film Festival and have also won accolades in different film festivals worldwide.

Taking to her social media, she said,
“So overwhelmed and grateful that I got to be a part of this year’s JURY for the INTERNATIONAL EMMY AWARDS. I always dreamt of being nominated but to be on the other side was even more fulfilling. Every day I get up and get to do what I love the most, a joy I wouldn’t trade for anything. Thank you universe”

With back to back hits and releases, Radhika has had quite a busy and exciting year yet. From “Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo” to Kuttey and Kacchey Limbu, she has many more still in the pipeline! Radhika is now gearing for releases in 2023 including Sanaa, Oscar contender Soorarai Pottru’s remake featuring Akshay Kumar, Mikhil Musale directorial Happy Teacher’s Day, and Rumi Ki Sharafat directed by known ad filmmaker Prashant Bhagya.

The brainchild of Zoya Akhtar and Reema Katgi, the nine-episode series chronicles the lives of Tara (Sobhita Dhulipala) and Karan (Arjun Mathur) who run a wedding planning agency called Made In Heaven. Here are the reasons why Made in Heaven is a strong contender at the Emmys International this year!

Most relatable show capturing details of Indian society : While the show itself is based on the recession-proof wedding industry, it is brilliant in the sense that it manages to capture almost every aspect of Indian society – from the snobbish ‘Dilli ki billi’ to the girl from the ‘gutter’ who is trying to make it big in the world.

The insights from a homosexual character’s lenses : Creators Zoya Akhtar and Reema Katgi has explored the homosexual angle in a very sensitive manner. Arjun Mathur’s sexual orientation in the show is so normalised that one is not at all surprised to see him playing tonsil hockey with Vikrant Massey. The fact that the creators have managed to show his privilege and the lack thereof parallelly is a testimony to their talent and skill. Mathur, of course, is brilliant and plays the character with equal amounts of grace and anger that he deserves to win the International Emmy Awards.

Shobhita and Arjun’s sense of Fashion : Arjun stands out in the show with his spectacular fashion sense and dashing corporate outfits. Dhulipala’s sense of style in the show is also fabulous – what Scandal did with Olivia Pope, Made In Heaven does with Tara Khanna.

The Wedding Bells : Presenting a tale of a new wedding with every episode, Made in Heaven showcases the various facades that play a vital role in a marriage. From family differences, relationship problems, management issues to the obstacles in the way, the show takes the audience on an enticing journey of emotions.

Appealing visuals : Made In Heaven is Dil Dhadakne Do meets Band Baaja Baarat. It’s upper-class Delhi meets middle-class Delhi, it’s all about the scandal, the skeletons in the closet and the unexpected boudoir behaviour that makes the show a binge-worthy watch.
