Prime Video and Excel Entertainment’s Agni has set the screens ablaze, earning rave reviews for its high-octane narrative and stellar performances. At the heart of this cinematic spectacle is Pratik Gandhi, who steps into the boots of the fearless firefighter Vitthal. More than just a role, Pratik’s portrayal dives deeply into the often overlooked heroism and valour of firefighters—those who rush into danger while others flee, tackling not just fires but other calamities such as earthquakes, floods, collapsed buildings, and even rescuing trapped animals. Pratik offers a look into their world, revealing the sheer unpredictability and daring that define their existence, making Agni a stunning tribute to these daily heroes.
“Playing a firefighter in Agni has been one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my career, as it has given me a profound understanding of the courage, resilience, and sacrifices of firefighters. With deep admiration, I reflect on their bravery and the hidden challenges they face daily. I am extremely proud that now I am an ambassador of fire services in India, and what touches me deeply is that fire marshals from all over the country have reached out to express their gratitude for my portrayal of this role. This is a testament of the fact that the film has truly struck a chord with the firefighters fraternity across the length and breadth of the country. Through our film, I hope that we inspire youth to join the Indian Fire Services as well and dedicate themselves to a cause larger than life itself.” said Pratik Gandhi
Agni marks Hindi cinema’s first cinematic tribute to the bravery, honor and the sacrifices of firefighters, offering a poignant portrayal of their heroism. With its intense narrative and emotionally charged moments, Agni not only explores Vitthal’s personal battle for respect within his community and family but also highlights the dramatic stakes of firefighting.
