Expressing his feeling on bidding goodbye to the show, Ashok Lokhande said, “Kaatelal & Sons is really close to my heart, especially the character of Dharampal. With a heavy heart, I am saying goodbye to this character and show. I have loved playing this character and I am extremely happy that our show continued to stand on its promise of delivering extraordinary content and providing unlimited entertainment for the viewers. I am overwhelmed with the love and support our audience continued to shower us with as they did on the very first day of the show. Our aim was always to inspire with our episodes and the show is now coming to an end on a positive note. I don’t think there can be a better way to this. Basically, the story of Kaatelal & Sons has completed a full circle of life.”

Talking about the experience of being a part of the show and reminiscing the relationship she formed with her co-stars, Megha Chakraborty said, “My experience with the show has been amazing and I learnt a lot in this journey. I think I have grown beautifully with this character, and Garima will always live within me. The character, Garima, was beautifully curated, keeping today’s audience in mind and I have thoroughly enjoyed playing it. Garima is one of my favourite characters that I have essayed till date. Making this journey even more beautiful were my co-stars who have now become a family. We have continued to put our best foot forward and have learnt a lot from each other. It really delights me to know that we have inspired girls to step up for their dreams and live it through. I am now bidding adieu to this show with tons of memories in my heart and I thank all my viewers for the continued love and support they have given us. Our production house Contiloe pictures has always treated us all like a big tightly knitted family.”

Jiya Shankar talking about what all she will miss on the set and expressing her gratitude towards fans and viewers, said, “I don’t even know where to begin as I have so many memories in my heart. I’d miss having fun with the entire cast in between the shots, various pranks that we played on one another and mostly I’ll miss the entire vibe of the set which was always very energetic and loving. However, now that I will no longer be playing Susheela, I am taking a lot of beautiful memories and learnings forward. The show has a special place in my heart, and I will certainly miss every moment spent here. I will also miss coming to the sets and getting into Susheela’s dabangg and dhaakad look. My fans and viewers have really loved my character and acknowledged my character throughout this journey of Kaatelal & Sons. What attracted you to this show?

The genre and the philosophy of this show is what attracted me the most, the norms of breaking gender stereotypes. As an actor, it is fulfilling for me to know that people have been watching the show and my character of playing Susheela’s father-in-law is quite challenging and different which has allowed me to explore as an artiste, creating a new level and a benchmark for myself on new grounds.

What made you take up this role in Kaatelal & Sons?

There are three major reasons that I couldn’t resist myself taking up this character in Sony SAB’s show Kaatelal & Sons- the very first one is my comeback on Sony SAB after working for 3 years in Tenali Rama, second reason being a part of Contiloe production house and the third one being that the character I am playing is very interesting, powerful and his various shades to it.

Any special preparation you did for the role?

Yes. I have grown my moustache especially for this character and the most interesting part is that I have mentally prepared myself to not speak Haryanvi which comes very naturally to me and moreover when everyone around me is talking the same. Since my character in the show is different from others, even though I am natively from Haryana, I have been instructed not to speak the same in the show. There are various moods of my character in the show, so I have prepared myself for that as well.

How would you rate your satisfaction level at this stage of your career?

I have received immense appreciation and support from my fans and viewers across my shows, but I do believe that the more I will work, the more I can lead my way towards perfection. I always look forward towards working better and entertaining my audience to my level best by doing different and challenging roles.

How important is developing a personal style when it comes to acting?

I believe an actor should always keep experimenting with his style of acting and adding his/her personal touch to a character which makes it lively and interesting to watch. I have performed various roles over the years, and I have always tried adding a personal element to every role, which makes it special and closer to my heart.

How is your experience working with the cast and crew of Kaatelal & Sons?

Jiya Shankar aka Susheela is playing my daughter-in-law in the show, so it was very interesting for us to gel up with each other and maintain our on-screen chemistry. My character has two sons, and they too are the new entries, so it was amazing working with the entire cast and crew of the show- be it one of the senior artists, Ashok Lokhande, or my sweet daughter-in-law, Jiya Shankar.

In the upcoming episodes, what is it that the audience should look forward to?

I urge all the viewers to gear up because the show promises a lot of new twists and turns after Susheela getting married to an all-male family of Solankis, who are apprehensive of her as his son Madhav has married a barber, who will lead the name and of fame of the Solanki family. The viewers are in for a roller coaster ride of surprises and emotions when the drama in the show will double up with all the new entries.

Any special message for your fans/viewers?

I urge all my viewers to keep loving, supporting, and appreciating me as they always have throughout these years. I hope my character in this show is equally loved appreciated as it was in Tenali Rama. I also assure my viewers and fans to entertain them in the best way possible.

In a candid conversation, Megha talks about her experience of adopting dogs and how she continues to care for stray dogs.

Talking about her strong bond with dogs, Megha Chakraborty said “I share a profound connection with dogs, it is amazing how we adore and understand each other. I have four dogs back home in Kolkata and I miss them all a lot. Usually, when I am home, I ensure to spend all my time with them and my family. We enjoy going for long drives and playing in the outdoors.”

Sharing about her experience while adopting, Megha Chakraborty said “Whenever I head out, I ensure to carry biscuits along with me so that I could feed the strays. I also ensure to donate to animal shelters from time to time. In 2014, when I had first arrived in Mumbai, I had adopted an injured dog from the streets. Initially, it was difficult for me to look after a pet, but I tried my level best to give her a good life. Today she lives a healthy life with my family back home in Kolkata.”

Megha Chakraborty further mentioned “At the moment, I would love to adopt a pet, but I have been controlling my emotions as I will not be able to give it as much time as it deserves. I’d like to advise my fans to always adopt pets instead of buying them. If you can take care of them then only it is advisable to adopt them. It is a big responsibility as they are not here for anyone’s entertainment. They are like little children; they need your care at all times.”

Paras Arora, expressing his love for food said, “I am a big-time foodie and I love exploring different cuisines since my childhood. So, whenever I get some free time, I ensure to try my hands on cooking and enrich my taste buds. I feel that a good meal is my happy place whenever I am low or feel sad, it makes me feel happy and uplifts my mood. As an actor, I always try keeping a tab on my food habits, but I prefer having cheat days in between to explore and try different dishes. During these cheat days, I experiment with different cuisines and try Indian street food to have the real flavour of our country’s food. The spicy flavour of street food makes me crave for it when I am on a strict diet, but cheat days are my favorite days of the month when I genuinely enjoy eating. Comfort food for me is Maa Ke Haath Ka Khana and Paneer, whenever I am sad or upset, I prefer eating either of this to cheer up my mood.”

Talking about trying his hands on cooking, he said, “Prior to last year, I have never tried cooking but since every other restaurant was shut, I experimented on cooking a simple dish by watching tutorials on YouTube and taking some real lessons from my mother on a video call. I would not say it was a super-hit dish, but it satisfied my hunger and made me happy, which I could not hold of. I believe I am not a great cook but the food I cook, I do it with all my heart.”

Concluding his cooking experience, he said, “I believe it was for my taste buds that I genuinely tried my hands on cooking for the first time. It was a lifetime experience and I have evolved as a cook from the day till today. So, along with eating, now cooking too delights me. Everyone on the sets is also fond of my cooking, so I have planned to invite them all to my house once things get back to normal, which I hope gets better soon. That is when I will try to feed them up with my specialities, Baked Pasta or any Punjabi style dish.”

Jiya Shankar aka Susheela said, “On the show Garima and Susheela have come to a point where they are ready to open a saloon of their own. Being a part of the show and portraying this character is an honour for me and it has also taught me the skills of a hair dresser. If I had a saloon in real life, I would like to give a haircut to Amitabh Bachchan because just like him, his hair style is iconic and trend-setter. It has not changed since the day he had entered Indian cinemas. Also, I would like to give a haircut to Ranveer Singh as he keeps experimenting with his looks, so I would surely try my skills on his hair and come up with something new and funky for him.”

On the other hand Megha Chakraborty aka Garima would like to style a very dear family member first. She said, “While getting into the character of Garima, the first requirement was to learn the art of hair dressing. After practicing for months, I have got a good grasp on this and my first real life model has to be my brother because he needs a good haircut and who better than his sister can do it for him. If I ever get an opportunity to style a celebrity, it would have to be Karthik Aaryan for sure. Would love to give him a great haircut.”
