Bollywood actor #SaifAliKhan returns in a gritty new avatar in Kartavya. The trailer, which dropped on Thursday, reveals Saif stepping into the role of a cop once again. But this time, with a rooted accent and a far more raw, grounded screen presence. While fans are excited to see what he brings to the table, many are already impressed by his intense avatar and authentic dialect. Taking to social media, fans expressed their excitement about seeing Saif in this rugged space.

“#Kartavya trailer just dropped and can we talk about Saif Ali Khan in that raw Haryanvi dialect? After ages we’re finally seeing a different avatar of this man! Makers gave us the same Saif playing Saif but THIS? This is Langda Tyagi energy after years!” a social media user wrote on X.

“Ufff saif in this Police Avatar is Really hitting hard,” another user said. “Watching Saif play a Cop after 8 years (Sacred Games) would be so goood ,” a fan said. “After Omkara I so wanted him to play Rugged accent guy!! It’s always mesmerizing for me to see Tha Nawab pulling off this accent…,” a comment read. “Saif’s verstility day by day ,” a fan said.

Saif Ali Khan has a great line-up for 2026. The actor kicks off the year with Kartavya, set to release on Netflix on 15 May. He will then be seen in Haiwaan and Hum Hindustani.

In a world where every choice comes at a cost, Kartavya dives into the moral grey, where duty and consequence collide. Netflix today unveiled the gripping trailer of its upcoming crime drama, headlined by #SaifAliKhan. The trailer offers a glimpse into a tense, morally complex world, brought to life by compelling performances from Rasika Dugal, Sanjay Mishra, Zakir Hussain, Manish Chaudhari, and Saurabh Dwivedi.

Directed by Pulkit and produced by Gauri Khan under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment, Kartavya follows Pawan (Khan), a police officer under intense scrutiny after failing to protect a journalist who is shot while under his watch. As pressure mounts from his senior officers, Pawan is drawn into a relentless manhunt for the assailant, one that pulls him deep into a web of power, influence, and deception.

At the same time, his personal life begins to unravel as his family is threatened over a dispute involving his brother, pulling Pawan into conflict both within the system and at home. As the case deepens, he finds himself torn between duty and family, where every choice carries a cost.

Netflix India officially unveiled its 2026 content slate at the Next On Netflix India event last night, with one of the most anticipated titles from the line-up being Kartavya, starring #SaifAliKhan in the lead. Kartavya marks the second collaboration between Netflix, Red Chillies Entertainment, and director Pulkit, following the critically acclaimed Bhakshak, and will stream exclusively on Netflix.

Saif Ali Khan, who will be seen playing a cop, shared his excitement, “Kartavya, which is really great, produced by Shah Rukh’s company Red Chillies Entertainment, is going to come out soon. It’s a lovely piece by director Pulkit, and really happy that too is coming out on Netflix.”
