‘Accident or Conspiracy Godhra’ has reignited discussions about the tragic 2002 incident, trailer out!

In recent years, Bollywood has seen a trend of films based on real-life incidents, often exploring previously untouched and controversial subjects. Films like The #KashmirFiles and #TheKeralaStory have boldly depicted true events and garnered significant appreciation from audiences. Adding to this list is young director M.K. Shivaksh’s new film, which delves into one of the most significant incidents that reshaped the political landscape of India over the last two decades.
The newly released trailer for the film Accident or Conspiracy Godhra has reignited discussions about the tragic 2002 incident, raising numerous questions. Why did the Sabarmati Express catch fire? How were so many people murdered and gang-raped? Did the authorities fabricate stories to cover their irresponsibility? Where were the fire brigade and RPF when the incident happened? Many lives were lost as people were burnt alive. Ranveer Shorey plays a pivotal role, fighting for justice in this controversial case. The film, announced through a compelling teaser, has already made headlines in the media.
Produced by B.J. Purohit under the banners of Om Trinetra Films, Accident or Conspiracy Godhra aims to depict the truth behind the Godhra train burning incident. The film is based on the Nanavati Commission’s report, formed to investigate the tragedy.

Producer B.J. Purohit explains, “People know the Godhra incident as a consequence of the 2002 Hindu-Muslim riots, but why do they consider the post-Godhra events as pre-Godhra? What is the reality that has been suppressed beneath the Gujarat riots? What kind of mentality is involved in distorting the truth behind the Godhra incident or presenting it as an accident or an immediate conflict? Why were the emotions of the 59 people who died in this incident not given a voice in public consciousness? This film sheds light on the planned conspiracy behind the incident that occurred on 27th February 2002 at the Godhra station. It considers every aspect of this event through the lens of the Nanavati-Shah Mehta Commission’s investigation. The facts and information that emerged during the commission’s inquiry are presented to the audience through cinema.”

Director M.K. Shivaksh adds, “We have been working on Accident or Conspiracy Godhra for the past five years. I want to emphasize that the film is the result of extensive research during these years. It would be incorrect to say whether the plan for the train attack was pre-determined or not, but the film uncovers the answers to these questions. It takes the research to the university level and then presents the information related to the Godhra incident through the filter of my perspective. This film is Godhra 2002: Accident or Conspiracy.”

The film, starring Ranveer Shorey as a key character fighting for justice, will release on July 12, 2024. Accident or Conspiracy Godhra promises to explore the various facets of the incident, questioning the official narratives and uncovering the hidden truths behind one of India’s most tragic events. The announcement teaser has already captivated the media, promising a deeply investigative and thought-provoking cinematic experience.

The makers of #KashmirFiles, #Major and #Karthikeya2 bring us the highly anticipated action-packed entertainer – #G2 (#Goodachari2). The biggest movie sequel was announced at a grand event in Mumbai. After the roaring success of the #AdiviSesh starrer ‘#Goodachari’ which not only did great numbers but is also considered one of the Top 25 #TeluguFilms of the Decade, the makers are back with the sequel ‘Goodachari 2’ that promises to take the action, thrill and entertainment to the next level.

The ambitious project was announced at a grand event in Mumbai where a 50 feet cut-out along with the film’s introductory video was unveiled at a packed venue with an excited audience. Adivi Sesh who delivered some of 2022’s finest films including Major and HIT2 attended the event and introduced the media to the vision of G2.

While ‘Goodachari’ was a massive hit down south, owing to its popularity and by public demand G2 (Goodachari 2) will be made for a Pan-India audience. This time around the sequel will be shot internationally on an elaborate scale including 3 countries in Europe, one in the Middle East, and on hometurf in Delhi, Hyderabad and Pondicherry. The film will pick up where it left off in the Alps, with a slew of new characters joining the existing star cast.

Says Adivi Sesh, “Goodchari 2 is an epic action film visualized by our brilliant director Vinay Kumar Sirigineedi. Honestly, we envision this to be massive, fitting for a Pan-India audience. The film goes on floors this year and we can’t wait to bring audiences something they will truly remember.”

Mithun Chakraborty collapses, Vivek Agnihotri halts ‘Kashmir Files’ shooting

Sometimes during the shoot, there are some unfortunate incidents that happen. Actor Mithun Chakraborty’s condition deteriorated due to the stomach infection, for which the director Vivek Agnihotri had to halt the shooting.

Director Vivek Agnihotri stated “We were shooting for a big action sequence. Everything was centered around Mithun Chakraborty’s character but suddenly he suffered from a bout of infection and it was very bad. No normal person can stand or still in that condition but he went out for sometime and came back and finished the entire shoot. In no time, it was so bad I couldn’t imagine anybody shooting in such a condition. But, he went ahead and gave the shot. That is the reason why he has been a superstar. He told me in the last so many years he hasn’t fallen sick. He was constantly asking me, “your shooting is not getting halted right?”. I am really, really surprised because I haven’t seen anyone in the new generation working so dedicatedly.”

Further, he added “Mithun Da is the most focused hardworking and professional actor and that’s why he is a superstar. Not only that when we came back for the shoot in the morning, he charged everybody with his energy and made sure that everyone is working at a fast speed. Because of that, we could cover the backlog which we had. Actors like Mithun Chakraborty are assets to any unit, any crew and any film.”

Following the critical acclaim of Agnihotri’s Tashkent Files in April 2019, the filmmaker believes The Kashmir Files is a small step towards letting the world, especially his countrymen, know about the plight of Kashmiri Hindus. Featuring Anupam Kher in a pivotal role, The Kashmir Files is slated to release in 2021.
