Directed by Abhishek Sharma, the film also stars Diljit Dosanjh and Fatima Sana Shaikh in lead roles with Seema Pahwa, Vijay Raaz, Annu Kapoor and Supriya Pilgaonkar.

Set in the early 90’s, the film shows Manoj as a wedding detective doing background checks on grooms and as he prepares to do checks on Diljit’s character, a ton of weird and fun situations arise. Definitely watch it for Diljit and Manoj’s chemistry in the film.

Choreographer-dancer Rajit Dev loves his sweat-suits

This year has been great for choreographer-dancer Rajit Dev. While he made his directorial debut with the female version of “Pachtaoge” featuring Nora Fatehi, he also choreographed Ishaan Khatter and Ananya Panday in “Tehas nehas” for the film “Khaali Peeli”, and he is also shooting for a couple of music videos. And though work keeps him busy, he still slays it with his fashion choices which are perhaps very casual yet classy.

He shared that athleisure is his favourite, and added, “It is definitely my everyday wear. Being a dancer and choreographer all I love wearing is track pants and sweatshirts or t-shirts.” When asked what style means to him, he said, “Style to me is being comfortable with yourself.”

Rajit also confessed that though he likes to follow new trends, mostly he goes with the flow. “I love to experiment and I try to keep up with the new trends. But then there are some trends which I think I will never follow. Also, sometimes I just go with the flow and on some days I surprise myself,” he said.

“I feel one looks good only when they are comfortable. Wearing something super uncomfortable and then looking great is not what I would love. So be it any occasion I always prefer wearing comfortable clothes, and that reflects in my attitude and my style,” Rajit concluded.

Komal Nahta throws light on behavioural patterns of the audience and theatre-owners

The nationwide lockdown has finally eased and every industry has started opening up, one after the other, following the multiplexes. Industry’s leading film trade analyst Komal Nahta expresses his thoughts on the re-opening of cinema, pirated movies, audience behaviour and much more.

Komal Nahta says, “It was waiting to happen. And it has happened. The non-national multiplexes and single-screen cinemas have broken free from the “dictates of the national multiplex chains” and released Khaali Peeli. While cinemas in Delhi-U.P. released the Zee Studios production venture today (24th November), it had released in other circuits on Friday, 20th November.”

“LAXMII was pirated by exhibitors of small centres but the cinemas which don’t encourage piracy in any form, decided to officially negotiate with Zee Studios for Khaali Peeli”, says the expert.

Komal Nahta has closely looked into the behavioural patterns of the audience and also sheds light on how small multiplexes are playing hard to survive in the cut-throat competition for the releases of films and cover up for the losses made due to the pandemic.

‘Khaali Peeli’, a romantic action film directed by Maqbool Khan and produced by Ali Abbas Zafar and Himanshu Mehra. The film features Ishaan Khatter and Ananya Panday in pivitol roles, with Jaideep Ahlawat as an antagonist.

Ananya Panday who is essaying the role of Pooja shares, “I’m extremely excited that ‘Khaali Peeli’ is releasing on ZEE5 and it will reach more than 190 countries, which is thrilling as well. I hope the audience enjoys my Mumbaiya character as it is so different from my past roles. It’s an early Diwali treat for the fans too and I hope they sit back, relax, and enjoy the film with their family, in the comfort of their homes.”

The story revolves around Pooja (Ananya Panday – playing to role of a prostitute) and Blackie (Ishaan Khatter – a taxi driver) who were separated by circumstances when they were kids. On turning 18, Pooja escapes the brothel; stealing a bag full of money & bumps into Blackie – a very ‘chalu’ Bombay taxi driver who agrees to ‘drive’ her to freedom for a fat price, of course. This sets in motion a series of cross-country events with goons on Pooja’s trail; cops on the goons’ trail.

The story is all about the chase and escape and through this, how the lead actors discover that they are childhood sweethearts and how far would each go to save others’ lives.

Ananya Panday has carved out a special place in the hearts of the audience with her quirky looks and her ability to nail every character. After the success of Khaali Peeli, Ananya is on cloud nine with all the love and appreciation that is coming her way. Her friends say that the actress is completely different from the character. A close friend revealed, “Ananya is a very fun loving and full of life person. While as Pooja in Khaali peeli – the dialect of a typical Bambaiya girl, she was unbelievable. The confidence, the fearlessness that she exhibited and the action sequences that she did, seemed so real on the screen that it was hard to believe it was her. She truly nailed the role and we loved it.”

We agree with her friends, everything of Ananya as Pooja was adorable. Her desi avatar, that nose pin, her acting – everything was easy on the eye and looked like a total natural.

Apart from this, Ananya’s rocking chemistry with Ishaan Khatter also grabbed attention of the audiences. Marathi film ‘Doctor Doctor’ is Zeeplex’s next release

After ‘Khaali Peeli’ and ‘Ka Pae Ranasingam’, ZeePlex is all set to release Marathi film ‘Doctor Doctor’ on Friday 30th October 2020. It is a full-on entertainment film. The film stars Marathi actors Prathamesh Parab and Parth Bhalerao in lead roles. Both will be portraying medical students in the film. It is a story about two friends Keshav and Pushkar who join a medical college and the crazy ride begins in this mad mad comedy of errors.

The film is helmed by director Pritam SK Patil and produced by Kiran Kumawat, Suraj Dagade Patil, Gauri Sagar Pathak. It will be the first Marathi film that exclusively releasing on ZeePlex at only 99/- Rupees. An altogether different avenue of entertainment has become available through ZeePlex and ‘Doctor Doctor’ is the first Marathi film ever scheduled for being released on the 30th October soon. It’s a full on adult comedy film with unlimited entertainment.

This film is produced by Kiran Kumavat, Gauri Sagar Pathak and Suraj Dagade-Patil. Amol Kagane is a co-Producer. The film is written by Sagar Pathak and Preetam SK Patil. The fun and pranks of actors Prathamesh Parab and Parth Bhalerao are going to blast laughter at everybody’s home through this film directed by Preetam Patil. Its trailor and poster also has been launched. Apart from the two ace actors, Ramesh Pardeshi, Siddheshwar Zadbuke, Vinod Khedkar and Amol Kagane are the names of a few other actors in this film.
