Interestingly, while working on the show, the actor also met Late Lieutenant Triveni Singh’s family and had an emotional time with them while taking insights about the late hero. Recalling his experience, Varun Mitra took to social media and shared a heartwarming note about his encounter with the parents saying, “ I started thinking about Triveni Sir. It hit me what kind of empathy in love this man must have felt – to sacrifice his own life in that moment, to save 300 people did not even know! I recall my meeting with the parents. The warmth they welcomed me with. The look in their eyes when they saw me, almost searching for their son. I will be forever grateful for having had this opportunity to portray the likes of such a great man. And to have had the sweet chance of meeting the simple and warm family.”

Meanwhile, Varun Mitra has previously won audiences with his noteworthy performance in Amazon Prime Video’s courtroom drama ‘Guilty Minds’ and Homi Adajania’s ‘Saas, Bahu Aur Flamingo’. Anticipation now mounts as the actor gears up for his next ‘Tejas’ alongside actress Kangana Ranaut.

While talking about his favorite scene from the film, Varun says, “I enjoyed the phone call between Me and Mala (played by Kanika Mann) when I was at the Patiala Station, there is a moment when I am running behind the thief, he was stealing some tube light or something to sell, he is not one of the militants and the next scene was supposed to be my call with Mala so my director Akshay said that why don’t we let the call start coming while we interact with the thief and it will break it really nicely. I believe it works so well we know from a performance standpoint of view because I don’t know how to express it, but it just worked really well because he is just getting the call in between the heated moment and sort of switches gears and goes back into that family mode. I tried to not play him as a stereotypical army guy. I also imagined Triveni Sir, who shaped himself according to the circumstances.”

On the other hand, Kanika Mann shares a message for the viewers, she adds, “Rakshak is an inspiring and heroic tale from the Indian Army. I am sure you will be moved by this incredible story of bravery and courage. Such stories need to be shown to the world. I am hoping you will like it.”

Elaborating on his experience he said, “Luckily, I did not have to go through any major physical transformation because Triveni Sir was also quite lean which kind of saved some time. But I believe that the psychological and emotional state of mind of an army member who is entering a war zone, who is in a situation where there is gunfire and bombs are exploding, was a more crucial aspect in addition to the technical stuff like the uniform and the weapon training .So, to understand, if you go through fear at that moment? Do you think about your family, do you think about your country, do you think about being patriotic or brave. It was basically just to understand that when I am on set, I am not thinking about what I have to do, and I am just sort of there in the moment.”
