The story begins with the central character, Abhay Purandare (#SubodhBhave), preparing to end his life in the middle of a forest. Suddenly, a woman named Niyati (#MansiNaik) appears out of nowhere, stopping him from committing suicide. Their ensuing interaction leads them to his farmhouse, where they discuss whether she could help him die in exchange for a large sum of money, jewellery, and other valuables. Initially hesitant—knowing it would amount to murder and could land her in jail—she eventually agrees, telling him she will fulfil his wish at the break of dawn. What happens thereafter forms the crux of this intriguing story.

Writer-director Alok Jain gives the film a cohesive and personal touch. The suspense is well-maintained, keeping the audience curious till the end. Though the second half drags at places, the sharp dialogues come to the rescue. The music is pleasing, and the background score heightens the tension effectively. The cinematography supports the narrative beautifully, and the use of locations—which themselves feel like characters—shows a keen eye for atmosphere and visual storytelling.

Subodh Bhave, a seasoned actor, excels yet again. He portrays the character’s vulnerability with great conviction and carries the film on his shoulders with ease. Mansi Naik matches him effortlessly—she’s a revelation here, delivering a mind-blowing performance. Her screen presence is commanding, and her expressive eyes convey far more than words.

Sakal Tar Hou Dya is a taut suspense drama that keeps the audience glued to their seats.

The film ‘Sakaal Tar Hou Dhya’, which is being produced under the Banner of SHREY PICTURE COMPANY. The Film’s Producer Namrata Sinha, has produced many TV series and Web series. She has also been a part of many big hindo films in different capacities. She is also the daughter of Veteran Film Producer Vinay Sinha, who had produced evergreen Hindi films like ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ & ‘Naseeb’ to name a few. NAMRATA has turned to Marathi cinema with the film ‘Sakaal Tar Hou Dhya’.

Director Alok Jain has also written the script for this film. This is also the first Marathi film for Alok, who has assisted veterans like Manoj Kumar and Rishi Kapoor in direction. Omkar Barve has penned the dialogues. Sunil Patel, the cameraman for the film, is a distinguished cinematographer and has shot many popular films like ‘Sarfarosh’, ‘Ready’, ‘Hum Tum’, ‘Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai’, ‘Bang Bang’ etc.

The shooting of the Marathi film ‘Sakaal Tar Hou Dhya’, which has various features, has started outside Maharashtra at locations in Madhya Pradesh that have never been seen on screen before. There is a special reason behind this, which will be revealed at the right time. The shooting of ‘Sakaal Tar Hou Dhya’ is going on in and around Indore, in Madhya Pradesh.

One of the Biggest USP of this film is its story, which revolves around only two characters which are played by Subodh Bhave and Mansi Naik. Also the audience will get to see the pairing of Subodh and Mansi for the very first time. Subodh has always enchanted the fans with his versatility and Mansi is a solid performer.

Director Alok Jain says that the unique storyline helmed with Subodh and Manasi’s characters will attract the audience. He said that not only the title of the film ‘Sakaal Tar Hou Dhya’ is unique, but the look of the film will also be very different. Despite having only two characters, the script with dramatic twists will keep the fans entertained. The songs and music will also play an important role in the film. Jain also signed off that each of the locations in the film will feel like a character by itself.
