Transitioning from the seriousness of a military drama to the vibrant energy and festive warmth of a family-centric tale, Mihir Ahuja is embracing an exciting new direction. Fresh off his role in the high-stakes narrative of Operation Safed Sagar, the emerging actor is stepping into fresh creative territory with Netflix’s upcoming film Dilwali Diwali. Produced by Terribly Tiny Tales (TTT), the feature stars Mihir together with veteran actors Manoj Pahwa and Neelu Kohli, delivering a heartening festive story rich with family relationships and emotional depth. For Mihir, this shift between two vastly different genres provides a prime platform to present another facet of his acting repertoire.

Moving from the gravity of a military drama to a festive narrative is more than just a change in genre; it is an opportunity to explore a different emotional landscape. While Operation Safed Sagar immersed audiences in a world shaped by duty, courage and conflict, Dilwali Diwali brings with it the familiarity of family, traditions and the many emotions that surround the festival of lights.

Speaking about this transition and the new shade of character he explores in Dilwali Diwali, Mihir Ahuja says, “As an actor, I’m always excited by the opportunity to step into a world that feels different from what I’ve done before. After being part of something as intense as Operation Safed Sagar, Dilwali Diwali gave me the chance to explore a completely different emotional space. There’s something very special about stories rooted in family, relationships and the festive spirit because they are so relatable. What interested me was discovering the nuances of this character and finding a side of myself that audiences may not have seen before.”

Adding to his thoughts on the experience, Mihir says, “For me, every character is an opportunity to discover something new, both about the person I’m portraying and about myself as an actor. What makes Dilwali Diwali exciting is the chance to connect with audiences through emotions and situations that feel familiar, yet still have their own surprises. I hope people enjoy seeing me in this different space and connect with the character in their own way.”

For a young actor, the ability to move between genres is an important part of artistic growth. Mihir’s journey reflects a willingness to embrace characters that demand different emotional registers, whether it is navigating the intensity of a military drama or finding authenticity in a story shaped by the warmth and unpredictability of family life. With Manoj Pahwa and Neelu Kohli bringing their experience and distinctive screen presence to the ensemble, Dilwali Diwali also offers Mihir the opportunity to share the screen with actors known for their ability to bring everyday relationships to life. The film’s festive backdrop creates a space for humour, emotional connections and the kind of familiar moments that audiences can see themselves in.

A month after the release of Netflix’s critically acclaimed and widely appreciated series Operation Safed Sagar, actor Mihir Ahuja has shared a glimpse into one of the most meaningful aspects of his journey on the show—receiving heartfelt validation directly from the man he portrayed on screen, Officer C.H. Bal Reddy aka Baldy.

Released on August 7, the series saw Mihir step into the role of Officer C.H. Bal Reddy aka Baldy, portraying the real-life gentleman. His performance has earned him considerable appreciation from audiences and critics, but a particularly special validation came from the real life officer himself.

Taking to social media, Mihir shared a series of behind-the-scenes moments from the shoot, along with photographs with the India’s Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh, former Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa. In a message to Mihir, office C.H. Bal Reddy wrote that he had just returned to Hyderabad and praised the actor for his “stellar performance”, adding, “You have immortalized your character.” He further wrote, “Frankly, I was just a squirrel doing my job back then but you have elevated it so well,” before adding that his wife was impressed with Mihir and felt he had done an even better job than him.

The appreciation from his wife was equally heartfelt. She told Mihir, “You played my Baldy role so well,” adding that watching him brought both happiness and emotion, while expressing how proud she was to see her character come alive on screen. She also highlighted how the series captured the importance of both profession and family in their lives.

For Mihir, hearing this directly from the people whose story he was entrusted to portray made the experience particularly meaningful. “There is no greater validation for an actor than hearing from the person whose life you are portraying that you have done justice to their story. Baldy sir’s words genuinely humbled me. While playing him, I was constantly aware that this wasn’t just a character I was creating, there was a real person, his experiences and his life behind it. To now hear him say that I have immortalised the character, and to see his wife get emotional watching it, is something I will carry with me for a very long time. I’m incredibly grateful for their trust, their warmth and for allowing me to bring a small part of their story to the screen,” says Mihir Ahuja.

For an actor, the journey of playing a real person comes with its own responsibility, and for Mihir, the emotional response from Officer Baldy and his family has added another deeply personal milestone to the success of Operation Safed Sagar.

Growing up, Mihir was profoundly inspired by Lakshya and the journey of Hrithik Roshan’s character from an aimless young man to a determined Army officer. The film left a lasting impact on him and shaped his aspiration to one day portray a uniformed officer on screen. Hrithik has always been one of Mihir’s favourite actors, making his own journey even more special when he got the opportunity to share screen space with his idol in Super 30. That project marked the first time Mihir met Hrithik, and the experience became a cherished memory. Later, the two also collaborated on an advertisement, giving Mihir another chance to observe Hrithik’s dedication and work ethic up close.

Speaking about the emotional connection, Mihir Ahuja says, “I still remember watching Lakshya for the first time and being completely moved by Hrithik Roshan’s performance. It wasn’t just the scale of the film, but the emotional transformation of his character that stayed with me. Somewhere, I always hoped that one day I would get to play a character that carried the same sense of purpose and responsibility. Hrithik has always been one of my favourite actors, and getting the chance to work with him in Super 30 was surreal because that was the first time I met my idol. Later, we also shot an advertisement together, and just watching him work from close quarters was an education in itself. Those experiences only strengthened my admiration for him.”

He further adds, “When Operation Safed Sagar came to me and I was offered the role of Flying Officer Baldy, I didn’t have to think twice. It genuinely felt like something I had been manifesting for years. Wearing the uniform, understanding the mindset of an Air Force officer and being part of a story that honours our armed forces has been incredibly fulfilling. Looking back, it really feels like life has come full circle from being inspired by Lakshya as a young boy to finally getting the opportunity to live a similar dream on screen.”

With Operation Safed Sagar, Mihir Ahuja steps into a role that is both professionally significant and personally meaningful, a dream that began years ago while watching Lakshya and has now come full circle through a character he always hoped to play.

Working together for the very first time, Mihir and Prajakta are set to play an on-screen couple in the much-awaited Netflix series. Amid the high-stakes backdrop of war, patriotism, and sacrifice, the duo’s warm and understated chemistry has already caught viewers’ attention.

Their brief moments in the trailer have sparked conversations online, with many calling them one of the freshest young pairings to watch out for this year.

Though Operation Safed Sagar is primarily a military drama inspired by real events, the emotional relationships within the story are expected to add depth to the narrative. Mihir and Prajakta’s characters bring a softer, more intimate layer to the series, balancing the intensity of the battlefield with moments of hope, love, and human connection. The trailer hints at an emotionally engaging dynamic between the two, leaving fans eager to see more when the series premieres. The series is slated to release on August 7 on Netflix.

Mihir Ahuja says, “Working with Prajakta was genuinely a lovely experience. She brings a lot of honesty and warmth to every scene, which made it very easy to build the relationship our characters share. Since this was our first project together, there was a certain freshness that naturally found its way on screen. Amidst a story that’s rooted in war, courage and sacrifice, I think the emotional connections between the characters become just as important, and I hope audiences connect with that journey as much as we did while filming.”

A source close to the production shares, “Mihir and Prajakta have brought a very natural warmth to their characters. Since this is the first time they are working together, there was a freshness that translated beautifully on screen. Their chemistry never feels forced, it grows organically within the story and offers audiences an emotional anchor amidst the larger war narrative. The makers were delighted with how effortlessly they complemented each other.”

For Mihir Ahuja, Operation Safed Sagar marks another significant milestone as he steps into an emotionally layered role set against a historic backdrop. Prajakta Koli, too, continues to expand her acting repertoire, and her pairing with Mihir introduces a refreshing dynamic that stands out even in a story driven by action and patriotism.

With its powerful ensemble cast, authentic storytelling, and emotionally rich character arcs, Operation Safed Sagar is shaping up to be one of Netflix India’s biggest releases of the year. And if the trailer is any indication, Mihir Ahuja and Prajakta Koli’s heartwarming chemistry could become one of the series’ most talked-about highlights.

Apart from being a full-time actor, Mihir has also remained actively involved in the music scene as a beatboxer and musician, which continues to play a significant role in shaping his artistic journey. What makes this musical collaboration especially unique is Mihir’s passion for beatboxing – a talent that remains relatively rare among actors in the entertainment industry. For Mihir, beatboxing is not just a hobby but an extension of his personality and artistic expression, allowing him to explore rhythm, sound, and storytelling beyond the screen.

The track brings together contemporary beatboxing and classical flute compositions, inspired by A.R. Rahman’s iconic song “Hai Rama” from Rangeela and more recently “Barso Re” from Guru, resulting in an experimental, genre-defying musical experience that perfectly reflects Mihir’s evolving artistic sensibilities.

Talking about the collaboration, Mihir Ahuja shared, “Music has always been a huge part of my life, even before acting happened. Beatboxing, especially, has been something very personal to me because it’s raw, instinctive, and completely expressive. It’s one of the few art forms where you can create rhythm, energy, and emotion using nothing but your voice and presence. Collaborating with a flute artist for this track made the process even more exciting because we wanted to bring together two completely different worlds – something modern and rhythmic with something soulful and deeply rooted.”

He further added, “I’ve never looked at beatboxing as just a performance skill. For me, it’s an extension of who I am as a person. As actors, we often express ourselves through characters written for us, but music gives you the freedom to communicate your own energy directly. Recording this track and shooting for the video has honestly been one of the most creatively satisfying experiences for me. I’m excited because the audience has mostly seen me as an actor till now, but this collaboration will introduce them to another side of my personality that’s always existed behind the scenes.”

Interestingly, this music collab comes at a time when Mihir is also preparing for one of the biggest acting projects of his career. The actor will next be seen portraying real-life Indian Air Force pilot in the upcoming Netflix series Operation Safed Sagar. The series chronicles the Indian Air Force’s crucial aerial operations during the 1999 Kargil War and is expected to showcase Mihir in a powerful and intense new avatar.

With a musical collaboration and a major acting project both on the horizon, Mihir Ahuja is steadily establishing himself as a versatile young talent who isn’t afraid to explore different creative avenues. Going forward, Mihir is also expected to collaborate with renowned musicians and feature in more music videos that further showcase and expand his artistic abilities beyond acting.

Operation Safed Sagar was the codename for the Indian Air Force’s strategic aerial campaign launched on May 26, 1999, in support of the Indian Army’s Operation Vijay. The mission was aimed at flushing out Pakistani regular and irregular troops who had infiltrated Indian positions along the Line of Control during the Kargil conflict. Conducted at altitudes ranging between 15,000 to 18,000 feet, it remains the highest-altitude air war ever fought in history.

For Mihir Ahuja, the project marks a major milestone in his career as he will be portraying an Indian Air Force pilot on screen for the very first time. The young actor describes the opportunity as both emotionally overwhelming and deeply meaningful.

Talking about being part of the series, Mihir Ahuja said, “Operation Safed Sagar is not just a show or a project for me, it is a story that carries immense emotional and historical significance for our country. Growing up, we have all heard about the bravery, sacrifice, and courage of our armed forces, but being able to step into the shoes of an Indian Air Force pilot and experience even a small glimpse of that world has been truly humbling. This is the first time I’m playing an IAF officer on screen, and honestly, it feels like a dream come true.”

He further added, “What makes this project even more special is the fact that it is based on a real-life mission that changed the course of history during the Kargil War. The scale, intensity, and emotional depth of the story are incredible. Knowing that Operation Safed Sagar remains the highest-altitude air war ever executed adds another layer of respect and responsibility while portraying it. As actors, we often search for stories that move us personally, and this is one of those rare projects that stays with you long after the camera stops rolling.”

Speaking about the preparation process and working alongside an ensemble cast, Mihir shared, “There was a lot of emotional and physical preparation involved because we wanted to approach the story with honesty and authenticity. Playing a pilot requires discipline, focus, and understanding the mindset of someone who is willing to put the nation before everything else. Working with Oni Sen sir and such an incredible cast has been an enriching experience because everyone involved understands the importance of telling this story with sincerity and respect.”

Mihir also reflected on the emotional impact the series had on him personally. “As a young actor, being associated with a story that is so important to India as a nation feels extremely special. Beyond the action and scale, this series is about courage, sacrifice, brotherhood, and patriotism. I genuinely hope audiences feel the same pride and emotion while watching it that we felt while making it.”

With Operation Safed Sagar, Mihir Ahuja adds another powerful and meaningful project to his growing body of work, while taking on a role that celebrates the bravery and resilience of India’s armed forces.
