Her post reads: When i saw ZEE’s Mother’s Day film, I liked the idea of looking at our mothers as the first storytellers of our lives. When their team asked me to share a fond memory of #MyFirstStoryteller, my mother, my thoughts went back to how she would comfort me. As a child, I was afraid of the dark. I remember as a 4-year-old, I was scared to go to sleep. Every night, mum would hold me tight and recite the Gayatri Mantra with me and put me to sleep no matter how busy she was. On one such night she explained the meaning of Gayatri Mantra and the power it holds. That is something that has stayed with me. To this date when I fear something or am taking up something new, I chant it, remember my mum and take the step forward. It is her support and her love that walks with me every day. It is a trick which always comes in handy!

Today, whoever I am is because of the values I imbibed through her stories.

Sameer Dixit and Rishikesh Bhirangi of Pickle Music have come up with the song ‘Aaichya Maghari’ on the occasion of Mother’s Day this year. This song is based on a poem by “Prince” aka Mahesh Aphale from his book “Pratimantar”. The song is produced by Layla and Mayuresh Adhikari under the banner of Woodstock Studios. A mother’s love always looms over us, may it be in her absence or presence, but the feeling of absence of a mother is conveyed in a unique way through this song. A different experiment has been done in this song by presenting the emotional state of the girl who comes home after her mother leaves the world, without capturing the usual or traditional way. This song is a unique combination of poetry, symphonic music, singing, and western-style dance, and it promises to provide an unparalleled experience of the fusion of dance style and emotional expression. The loss and loneliness that surrounds a mother’s retreat to her old home is seen in a different way. This song highlights the threshold between birth and death and the gap between ‘mother’s presence and absence’.

The song ‘Aaichya Maghari’ by Music composer and arranger Mayuresh Adhikari, has been sung very effectively by singer Layla. Sonalisa has done very impressive choreography and performed on it. This video has been directed by Nitish Budhkar and creative direction by Vibhav Rajadhyaksha. Cinematography and editing by Mayur Rewale, Rushikesh Ashok Gawade, Vikrant Chikane, Vaibhav Chikane, Suryakant Gothankar of The Media House. Mother’s Day on May 14 celebrates motherhood, the bond she shares with her children and how they are one of the backbones of our society. Monika Singh, known for shows such as Kulfi Kumar Bajewala and Bahut Pyaar Karte Hain, talks about her mother Sharmila Singh, shares her fondest childhood memory and at this stage of her life what she wishes to do for her.

“When I was a little girl, about 5 years old, I had a big sweet tooth and would always crave something sweet. One day, I went out all by myself and stopped at a sweet shop and asked the owner for some sweets. To my delight, the owner gave me a lot of sweets to enjoy. I ate so many of them that I eventually fell asleep on the bedding inside the shop, which was integrated with the owner’s home. My mother had been worried about me and kept searching for me. She eventually found me sleeping in the sweet shop owner’s house and, at first, she was angry. However, when the owner explained how I had just wanted some sweets, my mother’s anger turned into gratitude for the owner’s kindness and understanding. She brought me home, and I fell asleep dreaming of all the sweet treats I had just devoured,” she shares a fun story from her growing up days.

Looking back, she cherishes that memory and appreciates the sweet shop owner’s generosity. “It’s a reminder that sometimes, even the smallest acts of kindness can make a lasting impact on someone’s life,” she smiles.

The actor shares a special bond with her mom. “At this stage of life I wanna fulfil all of my mom’s dreams like going to all the religious places where she wants to go but never got the chance to go yet. And, I want all the happiness of the world for her,” she ends.

So, I feel in many ways lucky and humble, and I have a lot of gratitude for not having done much but yet receive a lot of love and getting “Maa” in my name attached.
