Speaking about the screening held by Universal Pictures India, action director and stunt coordinator Sham Kaushal said, “Firstly, I would like to congratulate Universal Pictures for making a film like The Fall Guy. I would also like to thank Universal Pictures India for hosting a special screening for the Mumbai Stunt Community. This film is extremely special all over the world because it revolves around the subject of stuntmen in the movie industry. The ex-stunt director, David Leitch has directed this film, and as a stuntman, it is a job that requires extreme commitment, passion and risk. It is time to celebrate the film that recognises the services of stunt workers. I hope The Fall Guy has an extremely successful run in theatres!”

Sharing his experience of watching the film at the special stunt screening, action director Manohar Verma said, “The Fall Guy is a great film! I am from a stunt family, my father was a stuntman, my brother was a stuntman. The subject of The Fall Guy is a part of my life and our family. After watching The Fall Guy series in the mid 80’s I made a pilot with Amitabh Bachchan in the 90’s for Doordarshan, about the life of a stuntman. Today Bollywood action is equal to Hollywood action because we rehearse and give it a lot of time. The actors do a lot of actions themselves as well. The Fall Guy is an inspiration for the stuntmen and women of the Indian film industry, and personally an inspiration for me. I have seen The Fall Guy series back in the 1980s and today I am watching the film. The preparation and the difference between the stunt industry in India and out in the West is quite evident. We are inspired from Hollywood but our stuntmen in India are daredevils and can match those standards well! I would like to thank Universal Pictures India for hosting and inviting the stunt community in Mumbai for this special screening!”

The 10th edition of the Laadli Media and Advertising Awards for Gender Sensitivity will honour and felicitate 32 personality, those who have exemplary sensitivity in showcasing gender issues thus helping bring more public awareness and accountability on the part of the government and implementers of social development programmes. 11 print and electronic media persons, and 6 advertisements would also be presented the national award under various categories at the event. The awards are being given for the years 2018-2019.

The Laadli Media & Advertising Award for Gender Sensitivity – ‘Woman behind the scene’ will be awarded to first female stunt artist Reshma Pathan. She has acted as a body double in more than 400 films, most notably as Hema Malini in Sholay. She is also the first female to become a member of the Movie Stunt Artists Association.

Dr. A.L. Sharada, Director of Population First and the Initiator of Laadli Campaign says, “The award winners have examined multiple social issues through a gender lens and created narratives that are rarely found in media and advertising. They have analyzed the intersectionality of caste, class, and gender, destigmatized the woman’s body, analyzed the equal vulnerability of men to patriarchal values, and created compelling stories that gave hope and uplifted our spirits. The winners and all those who submitted their entries show that inclusive and sensitive journalism and communication is alive and continuing to thrive.”

Sufi singer Zila Khan’s students will be performing at the event. UstadGah Foundation is her effort to give back the rich knowledge and treasure of music that she has imbibed. “Ever since its inception in 2008, I have been working with hundreds of children, most of them underprivileged, and preparing them to become India’s musical ambassadors in the world,” she has said earlier in an interview.
