Naam Foundation’ celebrates a decade of dedicated social service !

Staying true to the spirit of “Je je jagi jagate taya, maajhe mhana karunakara” (All living beings are mine, O compassionate one), Naam Foundation has been tirelessly working for the past 10 years in the fields of environment and sustainable development. The organization’s 10th anniversary was recently celebrated with great enthusiasm in Pune. The event began with a traditional Palkhi dance and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by dignitaries.

The celebration was graced by eminent personalities including Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways #ShriNitinGadkari, Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, Padma Bhushan Dr. Vijay Bhatkar, and Maharashtra Industries & Marathi Language Minister Uday Samant, among others.

Speaking on the occasion, Nitin Gadkari said, “I am here today to salute the work of #NanaPatekar and #MakarandAnaspure. If each of us draws inspiration from their efforts and takes the initiative to contribute socially, this movement can certainly bring change in society and the nation. Our names must be among those who turn challenges into opportunities. True social work does not need political publicity; what it needs is willpower. ‘Naam’ has shown this through its dedicated work.”

He further added, “Rather than being hands that only give, we must be hands that truly help. The more we focus on skill development, the stronger our progress will be. Every socially sensitive individual must step forward and contribute in their own way.”

Chandrakant Patil emphasized the importance of innovative initiatives being integrated with government mechanisms. He also highlighted the need to create five-to-six-hour work modules for women, which could open up greater employment opportunities for them.

Uday Samant praised the organization, saying, “The work of ‘Naam’ itself is proof of its success. I have always tried to ensure such organizations receive recognition everywhere. Through government programs and schemes, we have associated ‘Naam Foundation’ and witnessed many positive outcomes, of which I am a direct witness.”

Founded in September 2015, Naam Foundation has now completed a decade of service. Over these years, countless individuals have contributed to this collective mission of humanity. Founders Nana Patekar and Makarand Anaspure expressed their commitment to continuing this noble journey, affirming that the movement of compassion and service will go on, undeterred, in the years to come.

On KBC 16, Nana Patekar interacts with Amitabh Bachchan!

On Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, #NanaPatekar tells Amitabh Bachchan about the peace and contentment of village life. He says, “Main gaonkheda ka hu, aur wahin ka rahunga, wahin accha lagta hai.”

This Friday, on Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, hosted by the legendary Amitabh Bachchan, get ready for a special episode as the star cast of #Vanvaas – Nana Patekar, #UtkarshSharma, #SimratKaur, and writer-director #AnilSharma grace the show. The highlight of the evening is when the iconic Nana Patekar takes the hot seat, captivating viewers with his engaging stories and wisdom, as he shares anecdotes and bonds with Amitabh Bachchan over their incredible journeys.

In a light-hearted and inspirational conversation, Nana Patekar, who lives in his village now, is asked by Amitabh Bachchan when he realized that he should live in his village. Nana responds, “I am not from the industry. I am from a village, and I work here, then I go back. Main gaonkheda ka hu, aur wahin ka rahunga, wahin accha lagta hai.” Nana further tells the audience, “Just now when I went inside the room here on the set, I asked Mr Bachchan, “Why do you work so much? Come stay in the village for a week. Kamaal ka sukoon hai wahaan. He told me he works 12 hours a day, and I bow down to him for that.”

Listening to him, an impressed AB admits, “Itna mann karta hai ke phir se ussi vatavaran main jaa kar rahein. Ab main samaj sakta hu aap waapas kyun gaye.” Amitabh Bachchan then asks Nana Patekar what a day in his village would look like, Nana says, “I wake up in the morning, I have built my own gym there. I have two cows and a bull, no need for anything else—I’m the one who does it all.” (laughs) Breakfast, lunch – I cook all my meals myself. I’m a great cook, actually. I once thought if my film career didn’t work out, I would open a small hotel. But I’ve received so much more than I ever expected from life, Amit ji. My needs have become simple. In the evenings, I have books—some I’ve read, others I haven’t. I have four to five cupboards full of them. In the city, we have walls; in my village, I have mountains surrounding me, and I live right in the middle of it all. Itni aasan hai zindagi. There’s no alarm clock. The birds wake me up in the morning, and we even have peacocks visiting.”

Mr Bachchan adds, “You’ve truly enchanted me. I must visit you.” Nana Patekar responds, “Of course, please come. I always tell my friends that this house is not just mine, it’s yours too. It feels like home, so come and stay.”

Playing for the #NaamFoundation, Nana aims to raise awareness and funds to prevent farmer suicides, a cause close to his heart. This Friday, be sure to tune in to this special episode on #KaunBanegaCrorepati16’ at 9 PM only on Sony Entertainment Television.
