Disney+ Hotstar brings micro-anthology film with 3 original short stories, “Stories On The Next Page”!

The stellar cast #AbhishekBannerjee, #DitipriyaRoy, #NamitDas, #BhupendraJadawat, #VeebhaAnand, #RenukaShahane, #RajeshwariSachdev and #SyedRaza comes together for the first time in this unique concept of a micro-anthology film with 3 original short stories. The film is directed by debutant director #BrindaMitra and produced by Prateek Chakravorty of Pramod Films and Mainak Sen of Deep Films.

Every story explores a different relationship with the central theme being – Closure. The design of the film conveys how closure brings an end to one chapter in life and also ushers in a new one.

Balloo & Alloo & Mowgli – is the story of siblings Balloo (Abhishek Bannerjee) & Mowgli (Ditipriya Roy), who struggle to confront a painful truth they have recently found out along with mourning a personal loss. As they come to terms with the truth, they also realise that the journey to closure can only be made easier together.

Reunion – Abhinav Srivastava (Bhupendra Jadawat) lands up at the alumni meet of a college he had dropped out of years ago and bumps into star alumni Angad Singh (Namit Das), now a best-selling author. What seems like a chance encounter at first, takes a strange turn when a shocking discovery about something long unspoken, starts to spill out. Abhinav & Angad find their respective closures in a manner most unexpected by them.

Sunshower – Ira Iyer (Renuka Shahane), with the help of her son, Neel (Syed Raza), finds the courage to pick up the most important chapter of her life, right where she had left off years ago. She decides to meet Nikhat (Rajeshwari Sachdev), in the hope of finding her closure and starting afresh.

The film is all set to release on Disney+ Hotstar on the 6th of May 2022.

Namit Das reminisces, ‘Sui Dhaaga became extra special when I got the chance to share screen space with my mom’!

On the occasion of Mother’s Day, actor #NamitDas shares one of the most memorable moments of his life – his mother, Yamini Das’s debut film Sui Dhaaga. The actor was deliriously happy to be sharing screen space with his mother, but his joy knew no bounds when the first invite of prestigious award show made it to their home. The invite included a nomination in the Best Supporting Actress category for her role in the film. This became the best moment for the mother and son duo.

Namit shares, “My mother always had the acting bug in her, but she never dreamed of doing it professionally. She made her debut at the age 54 and even today she leads the family by example. She inspires us to cease the moment and own it despite all odds. Sui Dhaaga became extra special when I got the chance to share screen space with my mom.”

A source reveals, “Namit imagined that he would be the first to bag the nomination since he’s an actor by profession, but it was his mother who brought home that honour. He attributes all his milestones to his mom and he’s sure she will always surprise the audience with her energy.”

Namit Das awaits the release of Aafat-E-Ishq and the announcement of a few exciting projects.

Mira Nair on Namit Das’s screen test for ‘A Suitable Boy’!

Mira Nair’s adaptation of A Suitable Boy was one of the stellar projects on Namit Das’s slate in 2020. The series saw the versatile actor in the role of a shoe entrepreneur who is hoping to win the hand of a literature student, Lata for marriage. Only recently after Das won acclaim for the series, Nair shared a special memory of his screen test. She uploaded a photo of Das and Tanya Maniktala (who was seen essaying the role of Lata in the series) on the day of their screen test.

In the caption space of her social media post, Mira says, “This popped up today – the first time the suitable boy met the suitable girl – screentest – one sparked the other and it was done. Thank you for the love, Lata and Haresh, 2020 ka kamaal.”

Namit Das : I was a bit hesitant choosing ‘Mafia’

You’re totally missing out on so much if you haven’t heard about Mafia. This thriller is all about friends who reunite after college at Madhupur at their adda. The reunion is all fun until the name ‘Mafia’ is taken. Imagine becoming your best night under the stars in jungle with food, bonfire which turns into a bonfire of bodies! Scary right? That’s what the show is all about.

However there’s a twist to the story. There are two outsiders that intrude the party and a little girl in the woods who is only visible to one person. Is she the Mafia? This game of life has no lifelines and only one rule of running. You stop, you die. This psychological thriller is sure to keep your hearts racing. Namit Das who is essaying the role of Nitin shares why he was hesitant to say yes for the show.

The actor says, “This is one of the darkest stories that I have been a part of and to be very honest, I was a bit hesitant before choosing this project. I asked Rohan, do these kind of people really exist? He said they do and many other kinds and we need to talk about them. I believe each character in the show is pretty intense.”

Social media has pretty much shown how they’re excited for this original show to release. The show is one of the few ones you should really root for. Mafia has much more to its offering and is sure to keep you hooked onto it. The current buzz is all about how the show is all set to release in less than 24 hours.

Namit Das on his character in ‘Mafia‘ : I actually didn’t really prep for the character

The makers of ‘Mafia’ had recently released an intriguing trailer of the show which spread like wildfire. The story is all about six friends reuniting with an excitement post college days and all goes good until the death of a villager which changes the mood and vibe of the night. Everyone now sticks together in order to fight the murderer and play the game of life. One of the most awaited shows of ZEE5 titled ‘Mafia’ is all set to release in just 8 days.

Everything is simple until enters a little girl. However, she is visible only to one person. What’s the reason? The trailer has added layers of excitement to this thriller making it much more exciting. Namit Das spills some more beans about his character which is sure to build up more excitement.

The actor says, “Nitin’s character is not one amongst the friends and he has a mission for someone who is very hard working. I actually didn’t really prep for the character. I believe in open communication with my Twitter, Rohan had narrated this plot to me 3-4 months before it went on floors. He told me about the character and asked to bring in more nuances to it. My understanding of Nitin’s character was someone from the soil, who is grounded and I wanted to play it completely in contrast to the other characters.”
