A school was converted to an antique old orphanage by ‘Nishabdam’ director Hemanth Madhurkar

Amazon Prime’s latest offering titled Nishabdham has a never before seen star cast and a unique storyline. The orphanage is an important element in the film that takes the viewers through Anushka’s childhood and how she grew up there and it’s all connected.

Director Hemanth Madhurkar shares how hunting the orphanage was a challenge and how that dream was fulfilled by a school. The director says,”I actually wanted a very ancient orphanage but unfortunately there are not many orphanages in the US and the ones there were, they were really small and tiny ones.”

Sharing his vision as a director he further shares,”In my visuals I needed a huge antique old orphanage which I wanted to show and in the film it’s actually a school.”

Ending on how the entire process worked in a co-operative manner the director ends by saying,”I called up the principal and then requested them if I can come and check the school for the shoot and the principal was very co-operative and they called us and that was the actual place I was looking for the film, that’s how we got it. We’re so lucky to get it.”

Nishabdham is directed by Hemanth Madhukar, and produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and stars Anushka Shetty, R Madhavan and Anjali in the lead roles. The film marks American actor Michael Madsen making his Indian film debut and also stars Shalini Pandey, Subbaraju and Srinivas Avasarala in pivotal roles. The film is available on Amazon Prime Video.

‘R Madhavan is handsome, Anushka is cute and their chemistry is sparkling‘, says Nishabdam director Hemanta Madhukar

There is a stir of anticipation amongst fans and viewers to watch R Madhavan and Anushka Shetty together after a long time. The duo, last seen in the 2006 Tamil title Rendu, will be seen as an on-screen couple after 14 years in the eagerly awaited Telugu-Tamil thriller Nishabdhamon Amazon Prime Video. In a candid chat, Director Hemanth Madhukar revealed how Anushka and Madhavan’s reunion in the film is an added bonus for viewers as they immerse into the upcoming thriller.

He shares, “Initially, I didn’t know that they have done one film earlier and had been knowing each other for 14 years now. But when I saw Anushka’s excitement to essay the character of a mute girl and Madhavan’s curiosity to play a musician, I was quite contended. One is handsome and the other one is cute, together they are versatile actors which sparked their chemistry on the screen. When we usually work with actors who haven’t worked together before it becomes a challenge to direct them. However, with Anushka and Madhavan it came naturally and their chemistry was even more amazing than what I expected.”

Revealing more about the lead character’s casting, Hemanth mentioned that Producer Kona Venkat finalized Anushka for Sakshi’s character in the film during their recent flight journey. He said, “Initially, I had someone else in my mind of for Sakshi’s character. However, Kona Venkat met Anushka during his flight journey and was quite convinced that there couldn’t be a better choice than her to essay the character. We were glad to reunite Anushka and Madhavan again and create this enthralling masterpiece.”

Nishabdham is a story of Sakshi, a talented artist who is deaf and mute, who gets entangled in a criminal investigation when she unexpectedly witnesses a tragic incident that occurs in a villa with a reputation for being haunted. With a team of police detectives determined to get to the bottom of the case and the list of suspects ranging from a ghost to a missing young girl,Nishabdham promises to be an edge-of-the-seat thriller that will keep the audience guessing until the very end.

With 5 days to go for the global premiere of highly-anticipated Telugu and Tamil thriller Nishabdham, director Hemant Madhukar revealed that it took only 56 days to shoot the entire film! Moreover, the entire film was shot against the backdrop of Seattle, Washington with real locations – no sets being created for shoots.

He shares, “The entire film was shot in real locations of the outskirts of Seattle, USA. It was all real locations and places. We didn’t have any sets. Even some of the cops shown in the film are the real cops who were taken on-board to shoot the film. We completed shooting the entire film in 56 days in two languages – shooting simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu.”
