Peddi, one of the most ambitious films in Indian cinema, starring #RamCharan, Janhvi Kapoor, and an impressive ensemble cast, has finally arrived on the big screen. The film has opened to a phenomenal response, with strong word of mouth driving audience excitement. As it heads ahead, Peddi is expected to witness a massive box office run and emerge as a major success.

Amid the film’s grand scale and larger-than-life storytelling, actor Divyenndu’s journey with Peddi stands out as a unique and exciting experience. Known for his work in Bollywood, the actor stepped into the world of Telugu cinema with a completely new challenge, embracing a different language, culture, and style of filmmaking.

For Divyenndu, Peddi became more than just another project; it became an opportunity to rediscover the joy of being a newcomer. Sharing his experience, the actor revealed how entering Telugu cinema brought back the excitement of starting afresh and learning something completely new.

In an interview, he shared, “Going to Telugu cinema for Peddi gave me such a fresh feeling because I was the “new kid” again, trying to comprehend a new language and culture. I fell in love with filmmaking all over again. The director, Buchi Babu, treated me like a true artist. I’m even speaking Telugu in the film. It wasn’t easy; I had to mug up big lines. It’s a period film with a specific dialect, and Telugu doesn’t have many pauses, it’s quite breathless. I cracked it by giving the character a high-status lineage, which dictated a certain way of speaking.”

The actor praised director Buchi Babu Sana for creating an environment where he felt encouraged as an artist. Taking on the challenge of speaking Telugu in the film, especially with its period setting and distinct dialect, required immense preparation and dedication.

Divyenndu’s transformation for Peddi reflects the spirit of the film itself, ambitious, rooted, and driven by the passion to explore new creative territories. His experience highlights how cinema continues to bring artists together across languages and cultures, creating journeys that are as memorable behind the camera as they are on screen.

Written and directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi stars Ram Charan in the titular role alongside Shiva Rajkumar, Janhvi Kapoor, Divyendu Sharma, and Jagapathi Babu. Produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under his banner Vriddhi Cinemas, in collaboration with Mythri Movie Makers and IVY Entertainment, the film continues to build massive anticipation across audiences.

Peddi was released in North India by Jio Studios following the grand success of Dhurandhar, Dhurandhar The Revenge and Raja Shivaji. The film had its premiere across the world on June 3, 2026, followed by its worldwide theatrical release on June 4, 2026.

The story unfolds in the Vizianagaram region of Andhra Pradesh, where Peddi (Ram Charan), a skilled jaggery worker, grows up in a village that lacks official recognition on government records. Gifted with exceptional cricketing talent, he earns a living by playing for local teams that offer him the highest fee. However, an ego clash with Rambujji (Divyendu Sharma) compels him to leave cricket and take up wrestling instead. His ultimate goal is to secure government recognition for his village and ensure that trains stop there. Peddi reaches the wrestling final, but his rivals, including Ravi Kishan’s character, brutally attack him and break his leg. Devastated at missing out on the gold medal, he refuses to give up and sets his sights on winning gold in the 400-metre race at the Paralympics. What follows forms the crux of the story.

The film is an amalgamation of too many ideas and themes. As a result, the screenplay feels overstretched, leading to a lengthy runtime of 189 minutes. While the first half moves at a brisk pace, the second half drags considerably, with numerous plot threads competing for attention. A.R. Rahman’s music and background score suit the narrative well. The cinematography is excellent, and the sports sequences are both visually impressive and convincingly executed. Janhvi Kapoor, who plays Peddi’s love interest, has very little screen time and largely functions as a decorative presence in the narrative. Moreover, the camera frequently focuses on her waist and navel, perhaps catering to a section of the mass audience. Ram Charan delivers an outstanding performance and undergoes remarkable physical transformations to portray the demands of the film’s three sporting disciplines. He emotes effectively, and the determination visible in his eyes convincingly conveys Peddi’s passion and resilience. The supporting cast also performs admirably and lends strong support to the narrative.

Touted as one of the biggest Indian films of the year, Peddi — starring Ram Charan, Janhvi Kapoor, and Jagapathi Babu — has grabbed the nation’s attention through a massive promotional push. The trailer impressed audiences with Charan’s radical metamorphosis into three sporting avatars — a cricketer, a sprinter, and a wrestler — underscoring the depth of his commitment to the role.

Music has been central to the film’s buzz, with previous songs topping playlists and amplifying anticipation. The newly released “Massa Massa” continues that streak. The track not only showcases Charan’s Peddi Pehelwan look but also weaves in powerful film snippets and candid behind-the-scenes scenes that reveal the physical training and dedication that went into shaping the character.
Composed by A. R. Rahman, penned by Raqueeb Alam, and sung by Nitesh Aher, “Massa Massa” arrives as another musical highlight in Peddi’s promotional run, building momentum ahead of the film’s worldwide release on June 4.

The movie’s grand musical extravaganza in Bhopal on May 23 became one of the season’s landmark events, bringing together the cast and creative team — including Charan, Janhvi Kapoor, Ravi Kishan, Shiva Rajkumar, Divyendu Sharma, Jagapathi Babu, director Buchi Babu Sana, and A. R. Rahman.
In Peddi, Charan plays a versatile athlete whose journey echoes crossover sports legends — athletes who changed disciplines before rising to superstardom, such as MS Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar. The film celebrates grit, evolution, and the pursuit of sporting excellence.

Rahman’s soundtrack continues to dominate streaming charts: “Chikiri Chikiri” has surpassed 200 million views on YouTube, “Rai Rai Raa Raa” has crossed 74 million, and “Hellallallo” sits above 34 million, all contributing to the growing excitement for one of India’s most anticipated releases.
Written and directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi features a strong ensemble including Ram Charan, Shiva Rajkumar, Janhvi Kapoor, Divyendu Sharma, and Jagapathi Babu. The film is produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru’s Vriddhi Cinemas in collaboration with Mythri Movie Makers, Sukumar Writings, and IVY Entertainment, with Ishan Saksena as co-producer.
IVY Entertainment, founded in 2020, has rapidly become a major player in acquiring and producing premium Indian film content, expanding its slate of high-profile projects and supporting creative production houses.
Technically, Peddi is bolstered by a formidable crew: A. R. Rahman (music), R. Rathnavelu (cinematography), Avinash Kolla (production design), Navin Nooli (editing), and V. Y. Praveen Kumar (executive production), all contributing to the film’s ambitious scale.

Jio Studios will distribute Peddi in North India. Following a premiere on June 3, the film will reach theaters worldwide on June 4, 2026.

The film also brings the exciting and fresh chemistry of Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor. As the film gears up for release, Janhvi Kapoor, who is sharing screen space with Ram Charan for the first time, opened up about her experience of working with the star. She praised his talent, discipline, and respectful nature, while also revealing why she fondly addresses him as “Sir.”

Recalling an incident from the shoot, shared, “On my first day of shoot in Mysore, it was a song montage cut for chikri chikri, I was very nervous because I have seen a lot of his (Ram Charan’s) work. I think I call him sir because of the plethora of work that he’s done and how much he’s moved people, how much he means to people. I think his sheer talent, discipline, and dedication to entertaining people, and to giving to his craft and artistry, I think that warrants a sir for sure. He’s very calm, composed, and very respectful, not just to elders but to everyone.”

The grand musical event for Peddi, held in Bhopal on May 23, turned into one of the biggest film concerts in recent times, bringing the entire cast and crew together under one roof. The star-studded celebration saw the presence of Ram Charan, Janhvi Kapoor, Ravi Kishan, Shiva Rajkumar, Divyendu Sharma, Jagapathi Babu, director Buchi Babu Sana, and music maestro A. R. Rahman, making it a landmark promotional event for the film.

In Peddi, Ram Charan essays the role of a crossover athlete, reflecting the journeys of sporting icons who explored different sports before finding success. The character draws parallels with legends like MS Dhoni, who played football before becoming one of cricket’s greatest captains, and Sachin Tendulkar, who once nurtured an interest in tennis before earning the title of the “God of Cricket.” The film presents an inspiring tale of determination, transformation, and sporting glory.

Adding to the excitement, A. R. Rahman’s music has received an overwhelming response from audiences. While Chikiri Chikiri has crossed 200 million views on YouTube, Rai Rai Raa Raa has garnered over 74 million views, further elevating anticipation for Peddi and reinforcing its status as one of India’s most eagerly awaited films.

Written and directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi features Ram Charan in the lead role alongside Shiva Rajkumar, Janhvi Kapoor, Divyendu Sharma, and Jagapathi Babu, bringing together a strong ensemble that elevates the film’s scale and impact. The film is produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas, in collaboration with Mythri Movie Makers, Sukumar Writings, and IVY Entertainment, with co-producer Ishan Saksena.

IVY Entertainment commenced in 2020 and has cemented its position as one of the most popular production houses and acquirers of film rights in India. The company is steadily building one of India’s most extensive filmographies of premium IP and film rights while consistently empowering creative production houses to deliver exceptional movies that resonate with audiences worldwide.

The film also boasts a powerful technical team, including music by A. R. Rahman, cinematography by R. Rathnavelu, production design by Avinash Kolla, editing by Navin Nooli, and executive production by V. Y. Praveen Kumar, further strengthening its cinematic ambition and anticipation.

Peddi will be released in North India by Jio Studios following the grand success of Dhurandhar, Dhurandhar The Revenge, and Raja Shivaji. The film will have its premiere across the world on June 3, 2026, followed by its worldwide theatrical release on June 4, 2026.
