Richa Chadha starrer Madam Chief Minister is a story of a young woman’s journey and growth in the world of politics, a leader like never seen before. The gut shaking political drama is written and directed by Subhash Kapoor, the film also features talented actors like Saurabh Shukla, Manav Kaul, Akshay Oberoi and Shubhrajyoti.

Here’s a video of Richa Chadha learning to ride a bike as per the film’s requirement, the actor seems to enjoy this experience and is clearly seen in the video.

Sharing her experience of riding a bike Richa adds, “It’s really fun to learn how to ride a bike, we are starting with activa and slowly we will move on to a real bike. But I have got a lot of confidence and thrill, I think I have got a really good teacher too”.

A Kangra Talkies production, written & directed by Subhash Kapoor, produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Naren Kumar & Dimple Kharbanda is set to release in cinemas on 22nd January 2021.

Producer Himanshu Kishan Mehra reveals, “Ali jumped on shooting it and finished ‘Tandav’ at one go”!

The upcoming Political Drama, Amazon Original Series ‘Tandav’ been making headlines with its intense posters, the brilliant trailer and the ensemble cast. With the series launching this week, the buzz is at an all time high. Ahead of the launch, Producer Himashu Kishan Mehra shares his experience on shaking hands with director Ali Abbas Zafar.

Speaking about the power equation between the two, Himanshu says, “The outfits that we run we are pretty clear that he takes the ownership of the entire creative control and heading the writers room and curating, and the best interesting part is this is something Ali’s original voice because he has lived in DU, so the whole broad idea of this DU politics, national politics and how it can engulf with different/multiple layers and characters so the germ of the idea comes from there.”

Himanshu further adds, “In the OTT domain there’s this concept called Show runner/ the Creator, so he is the creator as the germ of the idea comes from him. So what happens is it sort of helps creative producing aspect because we were shooting in the power corridors of the country and whenever we faced a practical issue or a location issue, as a creator and producer team we can take a call cause at the end it’s a long format, you know that sooner or later you’re gonna catch up the narrative.”

“One has to don on a producer creative mind to be able to contribute. We have pretty much divided our thing as he was the creator. The best part was that in the beginning when it was being scripted, Ali said that I would sprint this up and do this entirely in one go. So he jumped on and did just that.”, Says Himanshu

“The advantage of wearing both caps is that the jobs are divided and responsibilities divided. As you see it’s a big star cast there had to be one person handling one side and other person handling the other side”, says the producer

A battle for the Prime Minister’s throne is on. Who do you think will win this Game of Power, Samar Pratap Singh, Anuradha Kishore, or none? To get answers, watch ‘Tandav’. The charismatic leader of a premiere political party, Samar Pratap (Saif Ali Khan), feels he’s ready to inherit the chair of PM after his party wins the (Lok Sabha) elections. Samar’s father, the party patriarch and the Prime Minister of the country, Devki Nandan (Tigmanshu Dhulia) is not willing to retire yet. Anuradha, Devki’s close associate (Dimple Kapadia), party senior leader Gopal Das (Kumud Mishra) are a few of many other leaders considering themselves fit to sit the chair. But the chair never comes easy. A parallel story plays out with the idealistic campus activist Shiva (Zeeshan Ayub) who becomes an overnight youth icon as he shines at a political event. Shiva wants to bring about the change, sway the youth, and overthrow the power pillars. Shiva gets the first taste of power. Shiva and Samar’s lives intersect as national politics meets campus activism. The dance of politics ensues as a series of events expose the inherent deceit, manipulation, greed, ambition, and violence in all the relationships.

This Friday, Saif Ali Khan-led Amazon Original Series Tandav is all set to take the viewers on a roller-coaster ride filled with conspiracies, drama, and suspense making it a perfect weekend binge-watch. Sunil Grover as an ideal sidekick : “In the game of chess, a king may or may not fall. Owing to impending wedding, Richa Chadha refused to chop her hair for ‘Madam Chief Minister’!

Achieving the right look for a political drama is key to creating a more authentic film. And if the first glimpses of Richa Chadha’s Madam Chief Minister are anything to go by, one would say that director Subhash Kapoor cracked the right vibe for the film. Word has it that on the making stage, Kapoor tried close to 20 looks on Chadha before finalizing the current one for the film. There’s an idea behind the genesis of the look for Richa that’s delved into in detail in the film itself.

Week on week, the actress along with her team of stylists tried different variations before achieving the current look. Even in the trailer, one may notice that the look evolves as Tara gains power and clout over the years. Talking about it, Richa says, “There is a cute little anecdote behind why I had to wear a wig. The director ideally wanted me to chop my hair and I was ready for it. He wanted a powerful, fuss free haircut that suited the character. But it was just around then that the date for our marriage got fixed. I realized I would have a mushroom cut by the time it was April 2020, if I had chopped off my hair for the part. Something I have hated since childhood is the mushroom cut. The director very kindly consented for me to use a wig, these are the various wigs we tried for Madam Chief Minister.”
