Manit Joura’s ‘homecoming’ in Kundali Bhagya!

Actor #ManitJoura is back in the popular show #KundaliBhagya and he is extremely happy about his return and shares his excitement with us. ”It’s always lovely to be back. It’s like home for me and it’s like homecoming. Actually I never went away from it. I was shooting a little less and juggling between two shows. #PremBandhan needed my attention more as I was playing the protagonist. Prem Bandhan was a very demanding show due to the characters and many other things. I am very close to Rishabh Luthra. I am very thankful that Kundali team welcomed me very warmly and accepted me. They were looking forward to it all this while and we were in touch and used to talk every now and then. I am glad that over the course of time I’ve had some fantastic people whom I’ve made friends with for the rest of my life. I am very happy to cherish such friendships. Be it Sharaddha Arya, Dheeraj Dhoopar, Anjum Fakih, Ruhi Chaturvedi everybody. I really missed it. I am really looking forward to the same love that I left sometime ago.”

Manit also shares how much he cherishes his working experience with Ekta Kapoor,” For this show I have received applause and awards at the same time. An actor works for these things. An actor works for such memories. It’s such a good combination where you are having a good time while shooting for a show and at the same time people are loving the show and you are delivering good performances, you are receiving love, awards, everything.”

Manit also shares an incident related to his love for Rishabh Luthra.
“Actors are supposed to sign the call sheet so whenever I used to sign the call sheet for Prem Bandhan I used to sign as Rishabh Luthra and not as Harsh and then the guy who used to sit across the table used to say “Sir Rishabh nahi Harsh”. So that’s how he used to correct it. Many times I made the same mistake because I couldn’t get off the character. The amount of love that I have received from the audience is unforgettable.” Regarding the track Rishabh is back from London, and the family is very happy to see him back.

So what are the similarities between Rishabh Luthra and Manit Joura? “ I think Rishabh Luthra and myself have a lot of things in common. We are pretty much identical to each other apart from the swanky home that he has. I have a loving and a supportive family. I am glad that I am well cultured and respect women. A sense of humour, ability to take care of the family and siblings. These are some similarities which I have noticed.”

Realizing this, Monika Khanna who is currently seen in Dangal TV’s Prem Bandhan, shares the changes she wants to see in the industry along with the society.

Talking about beauty standards in the industry, Monika says, “It is very unfortunate to think that being fair and thin is the definition of beauty. I don’t believe in this. But this is the sad reality of our society. They have defined beauty in one sentence – you are beautiful if you are thin, tall and fair, which according to me is not true. For me, beauty is from the inside and it depends on how good you are in person. I have heard people not even being entertained to enter the auditions because they don’t ‘fit’ the role. And I think not just in the industry, this notion has a major impact on society as well. But with people now getting aware and educated, the mindsets are changing and we can also see that in the shows that are now being produced. I hope we keep going ahead in the right direction.”

She also added, “With times and people changing, I think we need to see more shows where we show the females moving to another city and living the life she dreamt of independently. We have seen enough of ‘bichari bahu’ roles and it is time for us to show a new perspective. We are in 2021! I really hope we keep moving away from the stereotypes.”

Chhavi Pandey, who is currently seen in Dangal TV’s Prem Bandhan as Janaki is completely in love with her character because they are very similar in terms of personality.

When asked how much the character has impacted her, Chhavi says, “Janaki is a character that I have never played before and something I always wanted to do. She is very similar to me and very real to the point that it doesn’t look like I am pretending or even acting to be someone else. She is very compromising, loving, caring for her family, has a very strong self-respect and is a self-made person. And these are things I find in myself also. I have gotten a chance to perform very naturally and convey the message with ease through this character. But there were times that I had to put in the work for some scenes and even that has impacted me so much that there is behavioral change in me off-screen as well. I am glad I grabbed this opportunity with both my hands and can’t wait to further go through the ups and downs of the story along with Janaki.”

Not only her, the audience also feels very connected to the character and relate to her. No wonder everyone roots to see Janaki and Harsh together.

Mumbai, 10th March 2021: Harsh is stressed and tense as he cannot remember what had happened the previous night between him and Shweta. Shweta says it was under the influence of alcohol and love. Ram after hearing this entire scene from Savita announces Harsh and Shweta’s marriage. Shikhar seeing the commotion created disagreements between the marriage of the two, and wants to talk to Harsh about it first before he takes any decision. He also has a heated argument with Savita, as Harsh denies getting married. After Shweta creates drama and makes Harsh feel guilty, he agrees on marrying her.

Dadi and Vandana are shocked to hear about the marriage as Janki overhears the conversation. Dadi immediately takes Janki to Ram and asks him about her rights in the house. The atmosphere is summed up with heated arguments leading Janki to sign the divorce papers. Vandana and Shikhar know Shweta is playing around and now they want to figure out the truth.

The next morning, Dadi and Savita both ask Janki to call Harsh. When Janki knocks and no one opens the door, she gets worried that something happened to Harsh and calls for help. The family gathers and Rajesh breaks the door. When they enter, they see Harsh and Shweta sleeping together. Everyone is shocked. But Monica Khanna, who is currently seen in Dangal TV’s Prem Bandhan as Vandana, is playing a positive character after her multiple stints of being a vamp and destroying the protagonist’s life.

When asked how she feels about this drastic switch, Monica says, “I have always played grey-shade characters in my life and I was the one who would break people’s houses. But in Prem Bandhan, my character Vandana is positive and also seen to be suffering from domestic violence. So, the character is pretty tricky for me. I believe the negative characters get a lot to play with and their boundaries are pushed forward to a certain extent. But as a positive character, I have to make sure I perform within the boundaries and also use a lot of glycerin to cry (laughs) that I am not at all habitual to. So yes, it is challenging for me as I had never thought of playing such a character and was also not sure how will the audience accept me. But the response has been great and I am glad I took up this role. “

She also mentioned that after she gets dressed, she has a complete personality shift even off-screen as she sits quietly in a corner which is completely opposite to her chirpy self. She is definitely getting into the skin of the character and we can surely see it on screen.

Sharing more on this, Ariah says, “I loved that Shweta is out and out negative! She is completely a mean girl. I was always fascinated by such roles and wanted to try playing one. For my present role, l prepared by listening to music that makes me feel like a boss babe and bad guy by Billie Eilish. I also got to learn something new and different in terms of acting. Loud acting is not always good for acting. I already knew that but here I got to execute it. I am glad I got out of my comfort zone and did something different.”

She says her character Savita in Prem Bandhan has a very angle itself. Sharing her experience of performing this role, Utkarsha says, “I have played negative roles in the past, but the phase that Savita is in currently is different from all of them. Savita started out as a very positive character but she has now turned negative that is only disclosed to the audience but not to her family. So as an actor, I still have to switch between a positive and negative personality which is very exciting for me. The way I talk and even my body language changes accordingly. And I personally also enjoy playing the grey shade characters and my audience has also loved me in my vamp avatars. So, I am sure they are going to enjoy this new twist in the show.”

Ariah says, “I generally am a very fun and easy going person and enjoy spending time with people. All my co-stars are great people and I am really enjoying being a part of the show. Interestingly, sometimes people assume that I am like my on-screen character Shweta who is totally the oppositely who I am in real life. I ensure I get out of Shweta’s persona soon after I hear cut! I think it’s important to not lose yourself especially when portraying such roles. So you will often see me playing fetch with the dogs on the set or even feeding them. I’ve even gone to the extent of naming them all. One of them has been named Chi-Chi. They’ve become friends with the rest of the cast too. Besides this, we shoot some random stand up videos that are really funny. So yes, I do ensure that I am myself off the camera.”
