Rajit adds, “The song is directed by #Abderafia from Morocco and choreographed by me. We shot it in Morocco. This project brings together amazing creative people from around the world. I have always said that choreographing Nora is special—she’s an inspiration to so many. She gave me a brief, saying that with this song, she wanted to make a mark in the Western world. I focused on her strength—the way she moves. She literally moves like a snake. My team worked extensively on the choreography, which we presented to Nora and Jason. They loved everything about it.”

In the past, Rajit and Nora have worked on successful music videos like Pachtaoge, Chhod Denge, Dirty Little Secret, the FIFA World Cup Anthem, and Pepeta. Their collaborations have always received immense love and attention from viewers, and the response continues to grow.

Rajit shares, “Nora and I have been working together for many years now. I still remember the first time we were chatting over coffee in Mumbai when she told me, ‘Rajit, we need to do something historic.’ First, she did the FIFA World Cup anthem, and now this song. The foundation of our partnership is her trust in my vision and creativity.

I’m super happy about the success of Snake—it has already crossed 83 million views. I’m incredibly proud of this achievement, and I want everyone to know that this choreography was done by a guy from Mumbai. The year 2025 has started on an amazing note, and I’m looking forward to an exciting lineup that will bring even bigger creativity with some amazing people.”

“Every song I do, I treat it new and different. Everything about this song is special. We have the current hitmaker Karan Aujla and the queen of hearts Nora in the song, and that itself makes it special. As I always say, I vibe on a song and go with the feel of the song for choreography. I just jammed with my team in rehearsals and we ended up making the best choreography for Aaye Haaye,” he says.

He has worked with Nora Fatehi on many music videos before as well. Talking about their association, he says, “I’m very glad I have associated with Nora Fatehi on most of her music videos. It’s very tricky to crack new things every time and it’s a challenge for me and her to deliver the best every time. I know her strengths and weaknesses. I design my movements every time. This time it was hard for her because she had just recovered from an ankle injury. I have never seen someone so dedicated to their craft that she kept dancing in the sand while we were shooting. Her foot was swollen but you can never make that out from her face while performing. I just admire her and always get inspired by her passion.”

He adds, “I’m always happy to choreograph Nora as I get to experiment with a lot of stuff. She is a choreographer’s dream. I feel our Jodi is like how Saroj ji and Madhuri ma’am had Govinda and Ganesh masterji. My colleagues always say and I’ve read the comments that when it’s a Nora X Rajit combo it’s going to be a banger dance song. Also, this was my first song with Karan Aujla, which is what is making it more special.”

Talking about the choreography, he says, “Karan Aujla has never danced in any of his songs ever and Nora and I always make sure there’s bang-on dance choreography in the whole song. I had an idea of making Karan do a hookstep for this song. I went to him while shooting in his vanity van and I taught him in 10 minutes. He was sweet enough to comply. We jammed and made this hookstep look so cool. I’m hearing such praises for Karan for the way he has danced and vibed. I’m so glad we all made a great memory while shooting this song.”

“This time when my choreographed song Zaalim became viral, I decided to teach it to others as well. There were so many students who turned up for the workshop. Around 100 kids joined and they were not aware of the biggest surprise. They were happily learning that’s when the talented amazing artist Nora Fatehi walked in to give a surprise. The students went crazy. They were so motivated to see such a big artist drop in to see them dance. It was almost like they all were in a dream. I’m so happy I could get my friend to come and see the workshop where students showcased the Zaalim choreography workshop,” he says.

Meanwhile, he adds that he doesn’t really plan on taking too many workshops due to lack of time. “I usually don’t get the time to teach workshops because of my busy schedule. The first song I did for a workshop was Chaleya which turned out amazing. That’s when I knew there were so many people that wanted to learn from me.”

He adds, “Since then I’ve been getting so many inquiries from all over India and abroad. Bangalore was also good where I taught for the first time on 31st March.

Rajit also talks about Harrdy’s talent as a musician and dancer. “I think he’s outstanding, he’s constantly been giving hit songs. So what was the most challenging part when you were choreographing the song? Rajit says, “These are the types of songs that I look forward to as they help me make my choreography interesting. It’s simple yet effective so the audience can easily get attached to it.”

Speaking about working with Nawazuddin for the second time, Rajit says,” This is my second time working with Nawaz sir. He is not someone who is known for his dance but it was a great experience nonetheless. The first time was ‘Baarish Ki Jaaye’ which was a huge hit and the hook step went viral on Instagram. So I knew exactly how much I wanted Nawaz Sir to dance. I ensured that the hook step will look good on him. Being such a brilliant actor, he makes the steps his own and adds in his own style.”

The nation’s favourite girl Shehnaaz Gill is in the song but we somehow missed her moves in the music video. Sharing more on that, Rajit says, “I’m so glad I got to work with Shehnaaz. We couldn’t add her dance in the video due to the character and the director’s brief. But I got an idea on set and made her do some beautiful twirls around Nawaz sir. It’s like a dream sequence. She was so amazing that she made that shot look beautiful with her vibrant presence. This is my second project with her. I can’t talk much about the other one but that one is a superb song too.”

The team of ‘Yaar Ka Sataya Hua Hai’ have completed the shooting for this song in two days. Rajit also shares that he loved the fact that he has worked with B Praak & Arvindr Khaira prior to this project. He adds, “This team is a dream team. They are wonderful and talented artists. We have a great bond. Arvinder Khaira knows how much value I add to their songs so he lets me take charge on sets. He’s always up for my ideas and suggestions. B Praak is also very sweet and we have mutual respect for each other. This is the second song from the album. First was with Akshay Kumar and Amyra Dastur ‘Kya Loge Tum’ which is also a current hit.”

Rajit has been continuously having great success with his choreography in songs like ‘Bijlee Bijlee’, ‘Pachtaoge’, ‘ad campaigns with Ranveer Singh’ Fifa World Cup anthem ‘Sexy in my Dress’, to name a few that have become big hits in the industry.

“This year has been a blessed one for me and my work. I have seen myself giving my best for all the songs I’ve done. I did projects with one of my dream artists – global icon #AlluArjun – which also had kpop band trib-e. I choreographed the official FIFA World Cup anthem for #NoraFatehi in 2022. Going to the #FifaWorldCup, meeting so many iconic players in the stadium is something which I will cherish forever. These two are big milestones in my career because both projects are international and I’m the first Indian choreographer to do so.”

Speaking about his aspirations in 2023 Rajit says, “I look forward to giving more landmarks with my choreography. I am also planning to do more using my creativity beyond my choreography. Otherwise I’m very happy with my professional life.” I have a few dreams which I’ve been working on. Hopefully in 2023 I will make it happen. I will share that with the world once I achieve it.”

“It’s not that everyone is working to their best limits. If you are not seen on TV doesn’t mean your career is finished. Not everyone gets fame. There are so many choreographers, who are my friend, who are busy working. The industry is big and there are a lot of things happening related to choreography. I believe TV is the medium to success. The first time I was on a dance reality show, everyone knew me. TV has the widest range of audiences all over the world. But right now, social media, too, has the power,” he says.

He adds, “Social media has been a platform for undiscovered talent in every field. But unfortunately, it sometimes misses the natural talent and pushes a trend of 15 seconds with minimum talent. But that person deserves it because he or she has been involved in the process of making whatever they got famous for. For that matter, a lot of choreographers’ choreography has gone viral on social media, so definitely it’s a great opportunity for them to shine and create more.”

I love playing football and a big fan of FIFA on Playstation, so it’s like an unbelievable moment to witness the players live playing on the field. Also we went to meet the FIFA president and was lucky to meet legendary players like Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos, Drogba and John terry. But I take this opportunity as a great achievement. It’s one of God’s gifts to me for all the years of hard work. Many more to come. The whole credit goes to Nora Fatehi, this would have not been possible without her,” he adds.

This is not the first time that they have worked together. Rajit directed Nora in some great music videos like Pepeta, Dirty Little Secret, Chhor Denge and Pachtaoge. For those not in the know, he is the man behind the super-trending Bijlee song.

“The first mail from FIFA itself is a souvenir to me, but I’ve collected everything I got from there, my id card which has a FIFA logo with my name on it, and a gift post watching the Portugal Vs Uruguay match. Everything is gonna be cherished for a lifetime,” says Rajit about the souvenir he collected as a memory for his first ever World Cup experience.

Choreographer #RajitDev, who has worked closely with actress-dancer #NoraFatehi often says that he has always thought very highly of her. The actress-dancer was embroiled in a recent controversy where she ended up holding the Indian flag upside down at FIFA.

“Nora Fatehi is the most successful girl I’ve seen and that is only because of her hard work and dedication. She has done something that no one had imagined. She becomes the first Bollywood celebrity to sing a FIFA official anthem and perform on a FIFA stage. I’m proud of her. I’ve been a part of this project as the choreographer,” says Rajit.

He adds, “Regarding the Indian flag controversy, I want to highlight that Nora’s intentions were pure. She raised an Indian flag on the FIFA stage and said JAI HIND which 80 thousand people followed. The feeling was proud. There was a lot of wind on stage and she was holding a mic in one hand. Trying to adjust the flag which came on her face, unknowingly she turned the flag upside down. I can call it a mistake but it was unintentional, she didn’t see that she had turned it upside down because she was shouting Jai hind. I’m proud of her and everyone from my team who went there to perform is proud of her.”
