Rajni Jha (Ulka Gupta), a college teacher, lives in Darbhanga with her mother (Sujata Rajwar) and grandmother (Zarina Wahab). She remains emotionally attached to her late father’s scooter, which she rides around town, and this scooter is cleverly integrated into the film’s climax. Rajni is in love with Rajjan (Kanishk Vijay) but gets extremely dominated by his father, Malkhan Singh (Ashwath Bhatt), a strict police inspector. Malkhan arranges Rajjan’s marriage to the daughter of a wealthy family. When he discovers Rajjan and Rajni’s relationship, he vehemently opposes their union. Rajni confronts Malkhan Singh, but he never budges. Determined to take control of her destiny, Rajni decides to lead her own baraat. What follows around this bold decision forms the core of the narrative.

At first, the story appears to be a familiar love saga set against the resistance of an elder family member, but the second half delivers a few unexpected turns. The screenplay could have been tighter, yet the dialogues occasionally sparkle and lift key scenes. The well‑staged climax stands out as one of the film’s major strengths. The production values are decent, and the music is adequate if not particularly memorable. Ulka Gupta delivers a splendid performance; her nuanced and restrained acting adds depth to Rajni and fully justifies her casting. She elevates the character with finesse. Ashwath Bhatt is excellent in a semi‑antagonistic role, convincingly portraying both a grasping father and an intimidating police officer. Zarina Wahab and Sujata Rajwar make a mark despite their limited screen time, and Kanishk Vijay performs well as Rajjan.

Rajni Ki Baarat is a reasonably engaging film and works as a one‑time watch that manages to entertain.
