They stay at his parents’ house, where his father (Paresh Rawal) begins to doubt the girl’s identity. One thing leads to another, and a conflict between the betaals and humans intensifies. What unfolds around this forms the crux of the story.

The story is well-etched and offers some interesting twists. The dialogues are a highlight of the film, with several outstanding one-liners. The first half flows smoothly, and the love story between Aalok and Tadka feels organic. The interval arrives at a perfect point, and the second half takes off beautifully, making the zigzag ride enjoyable. Director Aditya Sarpotdar handles the subject maturely and keeps the proceedings engaging and entertaining. Ayushmann Khurrana aces his role and regales with his spot-on comic timing. Rashmika Mandanna looks ravishing and delivers a fabulous performance. The lead pair’s chemistry is commendable. Nawazuddin Siddiqui makes his presence felt despite limited screen time. Paresh Rawal brings in laughs, along with Geeta Agrawal Sharma, who plays Aalok’s mother.

Thamma, the horror-comedy film, is entertaining and a must-watch for lovers of this genre.
