The actress also opens up about her devotion and faith in the Lord and says, “Ever since I can remember, I have been very fascinated by Shiv and Shakti’s stories. When I was really young, I remember asking my maa about why we celebrate Mahashivratri and visit the temple every year, and she described the very human significance of the festival, saying that our family gathers to honor Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati Maa’s holy union. The day is dedicated to peace and unity. Every day, we reflect on ourselves and strive to make the world a better place for ourselves and others.”

Reshham further added, “For me, Mahashivratri is very special. He is the creator, protector and destructor of the universe. Every year, I visit the temple, fast, and pray with all sincerity. From him the universe was born everything was born from him No one knows where he came from or when he was born it’s because he’s infinite and timeless and the God of all Gods like his very name Mahadev! Talking about how Reshham bagged her role in Faraaz, the actress says, “I was doing a workshop with Mukesh (Chhabra) sir. I was a student at the time. At the end of the workshop, Mukesh sir offered me an internship. Later, I joined his casting agency, and while I was working there, I happened to audition for this role. It was very impromptu; Mukesh sir just said, are iska bhi audition le lo.”

The actress continued, “And from the moment I was briefed about the film and the scene, and when I got to know that it is based on the true incident of the 2016 terrorist attack on Holey Artisan Cafe in Dhaka, Bangladesh, I was like, this is something I definitely want to be a part of. I want to tell the story to the world and of course Hansal (Mehta) sir was directing it. So I was pretty excited to be working on this project”

Reshham further added, “Faraaz will always be special to me. The whole experience of working with the cast and crew, making friendships, and learning so much about life and acting. It’s an experience I will always cherish. As they say, a first is always the first”

No one from my family is an actor, or a part of the industry in any way. I was always one of the studious students who always came first in school and excelled in academics. Nobody ever thought I’d choose to become an actor”

The actress further added, “When I was about to graduate from college, I got an audition from Netflix. And I went for it. But I just couldn’t perform because I was so nervous. And then my dad pushed me to take up an acting workshop. He was like, “Why don’t you take a workshop and try because this is your thing?” And I went for it, and I realised that I’m enjoying this. So I was like, let’s do this and become an actor.”

Reshham continued, “On the first day of shooting, my first scene was with Zahaan and Palak. And I had not met either of them earlier. I was nervous when Hansal sir said “Action,” but I just entered the scene and began performing. And it was then I realised right in the middle of the scene that Zahaan was also getting very nervous. And seeing him so nervous just added on to my nervousness, you know (laughs). I was very nervous, we were all newcomers, it’s quite a normal, human reaction. But we all had a lot of fun and Hansal sir made sure to make us very comfortable. He was very sweet.”

Reshham continues, “Because I was playing Ayesha, I had to imagine what I would do and how I would feel if I were in this situation, and honestly, all I could think about was my family. Playing such a character is emotionally draining. I remember that during our workshops, we were taught to read the Quran Shareef, and I continued to offer Namaaz every day while we were filming. I don’t know why, but it made me feel good”

The actress further adds, “While shooting some scenes, I had to remind myself that this actually happened, that people actually died. It was surreal, and we knew we had to be as true to the real-life sequence of incidents as possible. All in all, filming this movie and working with such visionary artists and a talented cast was a humbling experience”

When I heard that it didn’t sink in until evening till I got out from work and immediately after that I cried my eyes out haha…”
