Geeta Sethi (Tabu), Jasmine Kohli (Kareena Kapoor Khan) and Divya Rana (Kriti Sanon) work as air hostesses in Kohinoor Airlines. The movie starts with a custom officer (Trupti Khamkar) picking up these three staff for an enquiry of smuggling of gold. The movie will remind you of a premium airline being shut down and it’s owner running away abroad. Kohinoor Airlines owner Vijay Walia, through one of the staff smuggles gold to a gulf country. These three girls accidentally stmble upon it. They are in need of money because of their middle class background and their family being dependent on them. Walia’s crony (Rajesh Sharma) gives them an opportunity to smuggle gold and after doing it intelligently they start leading good life. But somebody tips off customs and they are in trouble. In the meanwhile the airline closes down and the owner leaves the country keeping the entire staff in lurch. These three ladies decide to take a revenge by stealing Walia’s gold. What transpires around it forms the crux of the story.

The story is about women empowerment and it doesn’t take help of male stars. This female friendship tale takes viewers on an emotional as well as a daring heist trip. The director has ensured to keep the film pacy. The dialogues are relatable as well as funny at times. Though some scenes are hurried and the heist part has become ‘filmy’. The length of the movie (123 min) is perfect and the climax is well pictured. The back stories of all three lead women try to justify their behaviour. The cinematography is excellent and the background score helps the happenings on screen. Crew boasts of a cast comprising of a National Award winning actresses Tabu and Kriti Sanon and the National crush Kareena Kapoor Khan who light up the screen with their beauty and acting chops. Tabu regales with her subtle comic timing and emotions. Kriti Sanon represents young generation and delivers a solid performance. Kareena Kapoor Khan’s effervescent presence adds sparkle to the proceedings. Kapil Sharma and Diljit Dosanj do well in their cameos. Trupti Khamkar impresses as a ‘khadoos’ customs officer. Others including Rajesh Sharma, Saswata Chatterjee, Kulbhushan Kharbanda lend good support.

Crew is a woman empowerment movie which also entertains throughly.
