Rohit Choudhary’s role model has been his father!

Be the best version of yourself, says actor #RohitChoudhary, adding that having a role model does not mean that you need to emulate them. The actor says that for him, his role model has been his father and he has learnt so much from him.

“Everyone has a role model and my father is my role model. I have learned a lot from him, the biggest one being that no matter how difficult the situations are, one should never panic and be confident. No matter how big the problem is, you should face it and keep working hard towards your goal. One should not do any bad thing to gain temporary benefit and one should never do anything wrong. My father, although he was not very well off, never compromised his self-respect. He would still give money to the needy,” he says.

He adds, “You don’t need to become exactly like your role model, you admire them and learn from them. How you are, make yourself the best in that. Nobody has all the good qualities or all the bad qualities and looking at how your role model manages situations, you will learn too. From my father, I have learned that even if things are going bad, whether it’s in business or other things, you should face the situation with patience and confidence because life has its ups and downs. There are losses and gains. One should not run away from problems and rather resolve them. I keep myself motivated and, for me, the biggest motivation is the one I get from fitness. I exercise daily as it keeps me mentally and physically strong and that keeps me motivated. Yes, there are times when you feel low but that should not affect your mindset as good things will come with time.”

Ask him what success means to him, and he says, “When you start feeling that whatever things you want to do, you are capable of doing those things financially, that means you are successful. One should keep working towards one’s goals. When I started working, then within 2-3 years, I started feeling a sense of achievement. Whatever work we do, the income that is generated is not only for us or for our family but for our country as well as 20-25% of your earnings go to your country as well. That, itself, is a big achievement.”

Rohit Choudhary claims that KRK is a big blackmailer!

Superstar #SalmanKhan recently filed a defamation case against #KamaalRKhan for “endorsing defamatory allegations” against him, and also saying that he and his brand #BeingHuman are fraud and corrupt. Actor, producer and real-estate entrepreneur #RohitChoudhary has lent his support to Salman and said that it’s high time that someone put a full stop to all the rubbish KRK says.

He said, “KRK is a big blackmailer. He calls up actors, directors and producers whose movie is going to release and asks them to give him money otherwise he won’t give a good review. Also, he comments on everyone’s personal life and their personality. He doesn’t have control over his mouth, so it was high time someone tried to control his tongue. He has been attacking people personally and is not even sorry for that, so I just want him to pay for his deeds.”

“KRK doesn’t have a reputation to maintain and thus he tries to tarnish others’. He has not done any good work and is only known for his dirty publicity. He makes dirty videos, posts, only for his publicity and to be in the limelight. Like there are villains in a movie, similarly he is that villain of the industry,” he added.

Last year, Rohit too had files a defamation case against the self-proclaimed critic. Talking about that, he said, “He had put mine and my brother’s photo on his Twitter handle and called us ‘goons’ and ‘property mafia’. So I filed a defamation suit for Rs. 1 Crore on him. He has never attended a single hearing and even the judge too had given warning to his lawyer. Right now, he is safe just because of COVID. If the pandemic wouldn’t have happened he would have been booked in a non bailable warrant.”

“And now as Salman Khan has filed a case against him, I am sure he will make him pay for all the awful things he has said about him. He has our full support and maybe together we can teach him a lesson,” he added.

Popular singer Mika Singh too has spoken in favour of Salman, and Rohit feels it’s the right thing to do and urged the government to take strict action against him.

“Slowly people from the industry are pointing out what he does. Mika also said that he doesn’t have any manners and that if he’s a critic, he should comment about the movies and not on anyone’s personal life. Earlier too he body-shamed Sonakshi Sinha and now he’s talking about Salman Khan for his age. He also used foul language for Being Human. So I want the government to bring back to India as soon as possible and punish him,” Rohit signed off.

Rohit Choudhary’s kids celebrate Father’s Day as well as Mother’s Day with him!

There is a saying that a mother can understand even what her child does not say, but sometimes fathers have to take the position and play the role of both a father and a mother for their kids. That’s what actor #RohitChoudhary, who is making his Marathi debut with “#AamdarNiwas”, did for his kids after his wife passed away. But having lost his mother at a very young age, he saw his father doing it as well, and it helped him when he was put in that situation.

“No one can take a mother’s place, I can say that because I’ve gone through this feeling in my childhood and sometimes even now I feel it. But having said that I feel that while a father can’t take a mother’s place, he can play their role. Fathers are often not acknowledged for all that they do, but we shouldn’t forget that they too sacrifice a lot of things for their kids and give their life to raise them. My mother died when I was a little boy, but my father raised us well. He had no money and was not well too, and faced many challenges but he never gave up and never made me or my siblings miss our mother. He was my father, my mother, my friend and everything for me,” he said.

“When my wife died, my father went into depression thinking I will have to face the same sort of challenges he went through and forced me to get married again, but I told him that if you can manage everything even during such adverse situations, so can I. By that time we were well settled and had help to look after my kids too, so it was a little easier did me. My kids appreciate me for whatever I do for them, and they wish me twice every year, on Father’s Day as well as Mother’s Day,” he added.

Though Rohit admitted that it’s difficult to be a single parent, he feels sometimes kids start to take advantage of the situation, but he is thankful that his kids have always been very understanding. “It’s very difficult being a single parent because the house is dependent on a female, they run it, they know things better and play a major role in the house. So when my wife passed away, I realised there was a lot to do, I had to manage so many things at once. I realised we just earn money, and it’s them who do ninety percent of work,” he said. “But I gave all my time to my kids. I made a schedule keeping in mind their routine, like school timing, games, tuitions, etc. However I must accept that sometimes when kids get that extra love, care and attention, they become very stubborn, but thankfully my kids never behaved like that, and were always good,” he added.

Rohit also confessed that being a single parent one needs to be strict and lenient at the same time to maintain the balance. Lastly, when asked how he would have celebrated Mother’s Day if his mom was still with him, he said, “If my mother was here with me, I would have celebrated every day as Mother’s Day, I would have done everything to make her happy. We are five brothers and a sister and I am the youngest, and once my business took off my father wanted me to support my other siblings too and I did that. I started supporting them financially, I guided them, and now they’re very well settled.” “This would have definitely made my mother happy and proud of me. I would have never let that smile fade away from her face,” Rohit concluded.

Rohit Choudhary says that one should wear clothes which will enhance one’s personality!

At 50, actor-producer #RohitChoudhary can give a competition to any young stylish man out there. From casuals to formal, all his looks set major fashion goals, and he suggests that one should always be well-groomed.

He said, “As a celebrity wearing fashionable clothes is not compulsory, but yes you should wear good decent clothes and be presentable. One should wear clothes which will enhance their personality.”

Rohit further revealed that though he is not much of a trend follower, if something is in fashion, he wears it only if he feels comfortable. He also accepted that clothes are a reflection of one’s personality and different clothes make you feel differently.

He said, “If you go somewhere in shorts and t-shirt it gives a different vibe, and when you go to clubs or attend a function, wedding, and you wear your clothes accordingly, then those make you feel different.”

“Clothes are a reflection of your personality. Like for example, if you see a person wearing white kurta pajama the first thought that comes to your mind is that ‘is he a politician?’ Or if you see someone wearing a tracksuit, you will assume he is into fitness. So, yes, it reflects your personality,” he added.

When asked about his shopping ritual, Rohit revealed that he has a fetish for shoes and said, “My shopping is not fixed, if I like something, I buy it. I don’t buy things looking at price tags I buy things that I love. But I spend a lot of money on my shoes, I keep varieties of shoes with me.”

Though he mentioned that he mostly creates his own style, he accepted that he loved the bell-bottom trend.

“I don’t follow anyone, and if I really like something I try it out otherwise I mostly create my own style. Trend is something which is repeated after sometime, like bell-bottoms, big-collared shirts or loose fitted clothes. Recently I saw girls wearing chokers around their neck which I did not like, but I liked was the bell-bottom trend,” Rohit concluded.

On World Earth Day ‘these’ tele-celebs say, ‘Let’s go eco-friendly’!

More than anything else this devastating pandemic has taught us the importance of respecting and taking care of Mother Earth. For years, the goodness of Nature is being misused. The growing exploitation of natural resources for our own good has resulted in shortage of water, many species going extinct, increasing pollution leading to health hazards.

While many have been putting in efforts to save Earth, there are still others who are yet to do their part. On World Earth Day today (April 22), celebrities talk about the eco-friendly measures they undertake on a daily basis to do their bit. Take a cue:

Priyamvada Kant : It’s now or never, I guess. I try to follow a few things like I always carry a reusable cloth bag when I step out for shopping to reduce usage of disposable bags, especially those made out of plastic. I also invest in reusable eco-friendly water bottles and cups. Think about how many disposable cups are used every day your nearby tea and coffee shops or for that matter plastic bottles too. Imagine how much waste we could reduce if we all made these simple daily changes. Our planet is currently losing forests, so please consider planting trees in your garden or in the pots in your balcony. Make your own green space.

Nikkiey Chawla : I don’t litter or use plastic. I always make sure to separate wet and dry waste. I believe in recycling and reusing. I love gardening. In our Punjab house there were a lot of plants. In Mumbai too I have a small garden where I grow basil, thyme, rosemary, garlic, green chillies, curry leaves, coriander and mint, all the basic herbs that I use in my house. I love roses and marigolds, so I have them too. This makes me stay close to Nature.

Nitin Kumar Gupta : I am working on some ideas that will allow large scale recycling of food, clothes and energy. I don’t want to reveal much about it right now and would like to talk when I implement those ideas in villages.

Pritam Singh : Recycling is one way to save earth from pollution. Cleaning the water bodies, coastline and streets are a must. Dumping waste anywhere outside your house needs to stop. Start treating Mother Earth as Mother Goddess and take care of Nature as you take care of your mother. I actively contribute by following all the measures that the government has initiated starting from sookha kachra geela kachra, to not throwing garbage anywhere but in the bin, saving water, fuel and electricity etc. I follow eco-friendly habits both at home and at work.

Nibeditaa Pal : I think it’s important to look after our environment. We need to give back to Nature and nurture our surroundings. It has been more than 4-5 years since I’ve stopped using plastic. I always travel with my eco-friendly bags while I step out for shopping. I also use eco-friendly cutlery, cups, and bottles to my shoots.

Aniruddh Dave : One should understand that a healthy planet is not an option but a necessity. It’s more like ‘as you sow so shall you reap’. Today the kind of efforts we put in to take care of Mother Nature, our future generations will reap the fruits of it or else they will feel the repercussions. I have gardens both in my homes in Mumbai and Jaipur. I also try and keep my surroundings clean. We should stop littering here and there and must throw dry and wet waste separately. Seminars, talks and other initiatives are taken to make people aware. I am doing my bit and would request everyone to come together and do the right thing to save Nature. Gift plants on special occasions along with whatever other things you want to give. Earth is our planet, the more we keep it clean and the more it is good for us.

Amit Mishra : I avoid using plastic as much as I can. My water bottles and bags are all eco-friendly. I love planting trees, conserve water and don’t like wasting food. I use organic products that do not have harmful chemicals. If we take care and love Mother Earth, she will love us back and help us secure a healthy future.

Rohit Choudhary: : Not just on World Earth Day, but in our life we should always keep our surroundings and environment clean. I plant trees and have my own small garden at home. In today’s times, pollution levels are going high. Smog in Delhi during winters is killing. Save water and urge people around you to do the same. I don’t use plastic.

Ashish Johri : Earth is our home and we all collectively need to take care of it. I try to avoid using plastic and keep planting trees every now and then. I try to be mindful while using all available natural resources. I am all for eco-friendly products.

Prajwal Gupta : To build an eco-friendly society, we need to change our habits. I have switched to online payments and banking to avoid usage of paper. I try to reduce, reuse and recycle my clothes. Saving fuel and water are the two most important things that I have been following for years now. If your office is nearby, try to ride a bicycle to work. It’s eco-friendly and safe too.

Rohit Choudhary inaugurates son’s office during pandemic!

Actor #RohitChoudhary, who is making his Marathi film debut with #AamdarNivas, recently performed a puja for his son Sunny Antil’s new office. He revealed that it got delayed because of the Coronavirus outbreak last year, and before the situation worsens this year too, they did just a small puja and havan to inaugurate it. Rohit organized the puja on the auspicious day of April 13, as it was Baisakhi, Chaitra Navratri, Ugadi, Gudi Padwa and Chand Raat. He revealed that it was good day to begin something new.

“When you do some good work, you always want a good day to start it on, so that you get success. My son was pursuing a course in architecture, which got over last year. I wanted to do a grand opening of his office, but due to the pandemic, I couldn’t do it last year. So this year I did a simple opening with only family members,” he said.

“I performed havan and organized a Bhandara for the poor and inaugurated his office. My son has taken his first step in his professional life, and I wish that god blesses him with lots of success, peace and he contributes in the country’s development too and makes me proud,” he added.

Rohit also shared that he organized a puja once in every two-three months. He said, “I try to keep three to four havans in a year in my house so that my kids also get to know about their culture. During the puja, panditji shares a lot of information about the Hindu culture, and children can learn a lot from it. This is my way of teaching them.”

Rohit Choudhary reveals, ‘For me, humanity comes above all religions’!

Spirituality means humanity for #RohitChoudhary. He does not believe in going to a mandir, masjid, church or gurdwara, but believes that God is within us all. Choudhury says that if we are visiting religious places but are not good to people around us then there is no point is those prayers.

“Being a Hindu by birth, I have been following all customs and traditions. For me, humanity comes above all religions. I am a human being first, who needs to do and think good. Humanity is most important to me, religion is secondary. I do believe there is one super power above us all, keeping an eye on everything that we are doing. If you harm anyone then that you get it back. Karma is everything,” he says.

There have been times that even amid a lot of difficulties or hopelessness, some of Choudhury’s work got done. “I try to do everything with utmost dedication but the result is not in my hands. So when those things work out I feel the divine presence. There was a time when everyone thought I was very lucky. Woh bolte the kisi bhi cheez ko chuo to woh sona ban jaati hai… But nothing is in our hands in reality,” he adds.

He meditates daily to relax his mind and soul. Choudhry does not follow any guru. For his his parents are everything.

“I have a very simple logic. I believe the whole world is one. I listen to me parents, have learnt everything they taught me. There are no mentors bigger than your parents… I think this pandemic is a great educator and we have been moving from reality, doing many things wrong including exploitation of Mother Nature. We were always taught to clean ourselves everything and then touch anything every time we come from outside. But many don’t follow that, now we are expected to do exactly that. The harm Corona is doing is unbearable but why aren’t we learning? Why aren’t we imbibing the good out of everything?” he questions.

Choudhury follows the philosophy of live and let live. “Enjoy and let others also enjoy. I don’t hurt anyone physically, mentally or financially, do everything I feel happy about but my happiness shouldn’t create problem for someone and keep on evaluating my work, behaviour,” he shares.

So what’ your idea of peace and happiness? “Help those in need, make peace, don’t fight over religion and respect women. Hum sab hain bhai, apas me kisi prakar ki nahi hai ladai is what I go by,” he ends.

Tele-Celebs compare Films-Television-OTT!

OTT platforms are gaining acceptance nowadays with increased viewership as well as actor participation. TV actors discuss if the web poses a threat to TV or film viewership.

Rohit Choudhary: OTT has totally revolutionized the entertainment industry. All actors love having multiple platforms to showcase their talents. It’s a great advantage for the industry, I haven’t yet acted on an OTT platform but I would love to. I don’t think it’s a threat to other platforms, every medium has its own market. Every plateform can co-exist

Vijayendra Kumeria: The OTT platform is growing really fast and has a vast range of content. It’s on-demand and people are enjoying binge-watching their favorite shows. It’s great for us actors also that we have more opportunities. Having said that, I personally believe that there might be a little dip in TV viewership due to OTT platforms but eventually, TV viewership will always be good. There is nothing much to worry as people in different parts of the country still like watching shows on television screens and enjoy the content served to them. If we talk about big screens then I must say people love watching films in the theatre and that will never change.

Siddharth Sipani: I am very happy that OTT platforms have come up because I think it gives an artist a chance to explore various channels because TV also becomes saturated at one point of time. With OTT platforms, there is a chance to do something new, something interesting, something unique, something which has not been done before. It also gives us an opportunity to explore various genres that have not been touched before. I don’t think it’s a threat to the small screen as people will always watch TV. As far as the big screen is concerned, yes, it is a slight threat courtesy the lockdown scenarion.

Zaan Khan: It’s an opportunity I feel, not a threat, this is the new change that has come and I feel it’s for the best. And it is serving the industry well. The TV industry is affected by it but both the platforms are different in many ways and the audience of both the platforms is also different.

Ankit Siwach: Since the time the OTT platform has gained a stronghold in the entertainment industry, it is nothing less than a boon for all of us, be it employment, creativity, storytelling or entering experimental zones. Having said that, no platform can “replace” the other. For example, cinema can never replace theatre, TV can never replace cinema, similarly, OTT can not replace the TV. There is an audience for all platforms, and all of them need to be catered to. I have worked in IDiva’s Dulha Wanted which was a Faraz Ansari directorial, it was a different experience for me as the shooting process in television is absolutely different than how we did in Dulha Wanted. Sharad Malhotra: I think the OTT platform is a great thing that has happened to the entertainment industry. Because more the number of platforms more the number of mediums more the ratio for getting jobs for being actors or technicians, people behind the camera, people in front of camera so is a great platform and it is no threat to television, it is no threat to film because the audiences of all three platforms, all the three platforms that is OTT. TV films, they’re totally different. There is a small ratio that watches all three platforms, but the masses, are into TV. There are classes, they watch OTT and films. It depends on the genre, and it depends on the flavor of the film. It depends on the stars. It has got both the audience’s masses and the classes also. So I think it’s a great initiative and it has opened a lot of those for Everyone related to the entertainment industry.

Avinash Mukherjee : Spending quality time with my parents and gymming are the things that makes me happy. My family life is very important to me.

Prashant Bajaj : Firstly, I would thank God for bringing me into this world and letting me be with the best people in the world. The happiest thing for me is to stay with my family and be able to pray to Lord Shiva. Good or bad, they have been my support system.

Munisha Khatwani : Usually what makes me the happiest is praying or being in solitude or doing some sort of meditation, reading books, watching good movies, spending time with myself. I think getting a good spa, pampering myself also brings a smile to my face. This is my much-required me-time, when I am at peace. Pranitaa Pandit : For me the art of giving is the art of happiness. If I am a giver in life, I will always be happy. Sharing is something which comes naturally to me because that’s how I choose to live my life and I realised over a period of time that is what makes me really happy. I always believe that the giver is happier than the receiver. Happiness is the only thing that multiplies when divided and that is the truth. I genuinely pray and wish from God that I should always be the giving hand and that is also a way to receive the maximum power and strength. Happiness is simple yet complicated. Happiness is a choice we have to make every single day because life is full of ups and downs and if we look at the brighter side and go with the flow and realise that nothing is permanent it’s a beautiful way to live.
